River Star Diner

What a great spot to stop in for a lovely breakfast! Ended up this side of NJ and needed to kill some time and fill up - picked the right place. The service was excellent and everyone was kind and polite. Not to mention the food came out very quickly which I appreciate! Next time I’m around I’ll definitely pop back in and try lunch!

The food was unbelievable, especially since the prices were so reasonable. I had the pancakes ,eggs, and bacon, with fries instead of home fries. Everything was perfect, except the bacon was a little hard. I am very picky about pancakes, and these were delicious, absolutely perfect. I told my family about it, and they've also been going there now, and they love it. I will definitely go back! 🙂

This diner has been my family's fav for the longest. We decided to visit after such a long time, and as expected, they never disappoint. And if I may add, the turkey cream soup as recommended by Aisha, was really good. Thanks again Aisha.

The food here is definitely affordable and super good! Ordered Calamari and was blown away by how large the portion was and served with stuffed grape leaves, fresh sliced tomatoes on a bed of lettuce with slices of feta cheese and toasted pita wedges, which also comes with a cup of soup of your choice. I also had coffee with my meal which was absolutely fresh!
The service was, in a word... Awesome!
Super friendly staff, hard working and pleasant. Was greeted and seated within 2 minutes upon entering this establishment. The food/beverage order was taken quickly and served hot and fast to the table. Super Kudos to the Staff and Chef(s) here!!!
Atmosphere was classic, CLEAN and comfortable here. Definitely 5 stars given!
This was my first visit to The River Star Diner and a memorable one. Next time I'm in Jersey, I'll be stopping back in!

I'm a long-time customer here~ I love the updated menu, and service is just as good with the new hires! The only downside to our most recent visit was grabbing a copy of "Our Town" from the front of the restaurant to read, and finding that the entire front page was dedicated to the editor's anti-transgender opinion piece... shared during the holiday season, no less. I'm not sure if the owner is aware of the content of this paper, but offering guests such hateful rants to peruse over their meals is distasteful at least, and promoting social division against a group within our community at best. I hope they seriously reconsider their distributed reading materials, especially since I don't think it was intentionally provided. That being said, other than this harmful use of free speech having a platform here, the diner is just as reliable and homey as ever for us to visit, and I recommend ordering items from the Greek menu!

This is a very nice diner with delicious food! I used to eat here very often back in 2017 with a special person to me, and I have fond memories eating here. This is my first time back since then. I had a lunch here today on 03/20/2022. The food was just as yummy as it was in 2017!

They have lots of tables in the front and on the side. They also have more tables in the way back end of the place and I always wanted to sit there, but missed my chance again on this trip! I will have to go back and insist on a table back there by the river! 😉

This diner was built right on the edge of a small river which is where the name came from. It has a nice cozy aptmosphere with comfy booths and nice frosted glass accents. Employees have always been nice and friendly. Service has always been fast for me.

My nephew once asked me what makes a diner good. I said "Ant, a good diner should have the following: 1) open 24 hours, 2) serve anything on the menu any time, day or night, and, 3) must have good coffee." This place, while it isn't open 24 hours, does check the other boxes. First to arrive is the coffee. While I don't think of myself as a coffee snob, it has to be good, which is very difficult to do. Too weak, and it's like coffee flavored water. Too strong, and I can practically feel the hair growing out of my chest. Too bitter, and I'm thinking it's last weeks leftover. While slightly stronger than I prefer, it's still good. I'm not having to ease the strength, so right out, I'm hopeful.
Within 15 minutes, I get my food. The omelet looks small, but everything smells good. I'm cautiously optimistic. I thought it would be disappointing, but not at all. It was skinny because the way it was rolled onto the plate. Overall, I'd say watch those hole in the wall places. Flashy exterior doesn't mean good food. So this hole in the wall, with no flashy exterior is by far heads above the rest.

Great food. I can see why they're always busy but when I went inside there was plenty of space.

My son and I sat in a window seat along the river. We had breakfast / lunch and it was delicious. The service was excellent.

Casey is an excellent server. We come in 1x a month and she remembers us ans our favorite meals.

I like the River Star. The food is always good and the waitresses are usually on top of things. I think I actually enjoy eating there more when I can sit in the back on front of the giant windows and watch the river while I eat.

This was my first time there and I absolutely enjoyed it..we'll go back again. The eggplant parmesan was delicious, had to take half of it home. We really enjoyed sitting next to the brook, very relaxing.

I went to the Riverstar diner for lunch today, the service was excellent and the food was also excellent I had the chicken Panini Italiano, and it was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be going back.

Great food, service and a very large menu. Plus they're still practicing social distancing by distancing people sitting inside.

I just wanted to share my experience at The River Star Diner, which I visited with my father after a long day of peach picking. We had both lunch and dinner at your establishment and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of cuisines on offer.

My father opted for a classic cheeseburger with all the usual toppings such as lettuce, onion, and tomato, while I decided to try the “My Big Fat Greek Pannini”. The dish was a mouth-watering combination of gyro meat and Feta cheese, nestled inside a traditional Greek pita bread. The accompanying French fries and tzatziki sauce were the perfect complements to the savory flavors of the panini.

Overall, I would highly recommend The River Star Diner to anyone looking for a delicious and diverse dining experience. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. I look forward to returning to your establishment the next time I am in the area.

My oldest daughter and I had the privilege of, yet again, having lunch at the wonderful River Star Diner.

The restaurant is kept well cleaned, our waitress was extremely friendly and never rushed us out the door.

I must say:
I 100 % will keep going back.

The Diner sits directly near a creek... beautiful atmosphere ... great professional and friendly service.
