Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro is a gem! The staff were so friendly and helpful, creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxing vibe, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. Speaking of the food – it was terrific! Authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and the portions were generous. I left feeling satisfied and happy. We come on Christmas Day like we do almost every year and, as always, the dim sum was delicious. I didn't even manage to get pictures of everything because we were too interested in eating it as soon as it arrived. Their dim sum kitchen was a little backed up so there was a little wait for our reservation and for our food, but we weren't in a rush and still enjoyed everything, day no complaints. The waitstaff are all very friendly and helpful, and did everything they could to make our experience great.

Good food and the service is very nice. I had Peking duck served with buns, Sichuan chicken and hot/sour soup. The bakery has variety of bread and dessert. I liked the egg tart and cheese cake. 👍

What a find! I passed by HKB&B for years when going to Trader Joe’s and wish I had stopped sooner.
Every dish on the menu looks so interesting that it’s hard to pick.
Today we had salt pepper squid, roast duck, sautéed Chinese broccoli, sticky rice steamed in lotus leaves and beef in tofu skins. Every single dish was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious.
The music was pleasant, the setting clean and intimate, friendly staff and professional service.
I just wish I could have tried more than one dessert (mango pudding with fresh mango).
Can’t wait to come back.

Came here hoping for traditional Chinese dim sum (pretty much small plates of dumplings and snack foods priced by size) and was not disappointed. There are a lot of places that say they offer dim sum but really they just mean dumplings are on the menu, this place has your standard dim sum menu. I'm not sure what that one reviewer expected when they ordered chicken feet but yes, chicken feet are just whole feet soaked in sauce... My girlfriend had the chicken feet (one of her favorite dishes) and said they could have used some more sauce but were otherwise good.

The baked goods like the baked honey pork buns, sesame balls, egg tarts, were especially good, and the "crispy rice roll" (basically fried dough wrapped in a rice noodle) was perfect. I also had one of the boba drinks and it was like a Frappuccino with tapioca pearls which was something I had no idea I was missing from my life. We did not experience any rudeness from the staff as others have commented on, maybe this one employee was out when we went, though we're from the city so our definition of rude might be a bit skewed.

This place is one of the more expensive dim sum places I've been to (not surprising given the location since food costs for this kind of restaurant are going to be higher further away from the city) but the quality is definitely on par with or even better than many of the restaurants in New York's Chinatown. That was a huge relief to my girlfriend and I since now we have a place to go to for dim sum when we're in the capital region.

Absolutely incredible. We’re from California and suffice to say Cantonese cooking is a thing for us. Also very used to HK cafes in San Francisco area. Also I’ve been to HK and Macao… This restaurant does it right - excellent flounder, great tofu, veggies were just right and lots of fun bakery items to take for the rest of the trip up north. Will stop by again - certainly worthy to drive out just for this :)

Wonderful. Chinese bakery, dim sum, Chinese BBQ, seafood and, as though that's not enough, boba. The quality of the food ranges from decent to very good. Today we had their oyster special and the oysters tasted great! Will definitely come back.

Amazing food and good service. Don't come here expecting American style service. The food comes to your table when it's hot, fresh and delicious. If your chow fun comes out before your DimSum apps, that's part of the experience. "Al Pacino" was our waiter, and he was sassy but funny.

Hands down the best sponge cake in Albany! The fruits are always so fresh and the icing is soo good! Every birthday we make sure we have the sponge cake and everyone who visits us in Albany gets to taste this amazing cake! It’s always so easy to order and they make any small modifications we want(more like if we don’t want certain fruit on the cake). Definitely give it a try if you haven’t yet.

My favorite place in upstate NY. I've been coming here for years always love the food. The egg tarts are my favorite and the beef pan fried noodles are fantastic. The dim sum is fresh. It's a 40min drive for me and worth every min.

Food was amazing! Recommendations from staff was on point. Took items home with me, they likely won't make it though. Super friendly staff. Will return whenever I'm back in the area. Walking distance from the Holiday Inn +++

We came here back in February. The dim sum was great. The waiter was great. If we are ever back in Albany we will stop in for these comfort foods.

Hong Kong Bistro, as it says in its name, has a focus of Hong Kong/ Cantonese style Chinese cuisine. It is one of the most well known subspeciality of regional cuisine in China. It certainly doesn't disappoint, both tastes and authenticities. The dinning environment is kept very neat and the lightings are soft. It is a relatively classy and modern setting for a Chinese restaurant.

One of the famous type of Hong Kong/ Cantonese style of eating is dim sum, which are variety of small breakfast oriented dishes good sharing with a bunch of friends. Vast majority of their dim sum dishes in my opinion are really authentic, speaking from someone who have had dim sum in Hong Kong before. Argubly the best in Albany. Yet, several dim sum dishes are not quite exactly up to the authentic standard. Don't get me wrong, they are still good, but just certain individual dim sum dish isn't made the same as the conventional way.

Aside from dim sum, I am very impressed on their fried rice and fried noodle dishes. Each bite is packed with flavor and authenticity. You can find a lot of unique authentic Hong Kong style dishes that you can't find in other general Chinese restaurants around Albany. However, no restaurants are perfect From time to time, there are certain entree dishes lack consistency. I have ordered the same dish from different visits, and the same dish actually taste slightly different.

P.S. Must check out their bakery/dessert selections, very traditional, classic, and authentic Hong Kong style.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever eaten in all my years of living in the Albany area. Their dim sums, roast duck, and chow fun were incredible. And don’t forget the egg tart for dessert. You won’t regret it.

Loved dim sum here! Plus the best hk-style duck we’ve ever had in the US. After lunch, we ordered more to take home, lol

Absolutely incredible! Food is amazing, great dim sum and even better service. Roast pork noodle soup is a must, and the pork siu mai is my favorite.
