Cafe 401 & Grill

Enjoyed a good vegetarian breakfast with friendly staff. Always happy to find a place willing to make something off menu without meat or eggs for breakfast all while not giving you funny looks for it! Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Table of 3 served, happy, full, and out the door, all within 30 minutes.

The food is made with fresh ingredients right in front of you. My omelet was delicious with a large amount of home fries. Would highly recommend a visit.

Everything about this little gem of a cafe is exceptional. From the customer service to the food and everything in between. The first time me and my coworker went to Cafe 401 I was having a really bad day and the staff there turned my day around completely! We have been back almost every day since then, it is our little escape from work. We look forward to seeing everyone there and indulging in our cappuccinos :)

Food is ALWAYS GOOD! it’s a hidden gem and the food is always delicious. Some places are rushed food with no love, but this place is excellent and I highly recommend. This is my go to place for my family. Try them out! They have a variety of sandwiches and coffee. They also have so much breakfast options and you can tell them to customize. They are very affordable too

We had a very enjoyable early afternoon breakfast. Passed the place a million times and today we decided to walk from our house and we are glad we did! We had the Marco Bronco omelet, the corn beef hash and eggs, and an order of pancakes. Everything was great especially the pancakes as it reminded my husband of his mom’s pancakes with the crispy edges. And to top it off freshly squeezed orange juice! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the place has a very cool and relaxing vibe. We also love the thought that we are buying from a small business. No doubt we will be back.

I’m not one to write many reviews but this one deserves one. Food was delicious, prices were great , abundance was immaculate and most of all the customer service was top tier! Will definitely come and and recommend.

This place was a great experience, the waitress were attentive and provided exceptional customer service. The owner of the restaurant, Mr. Tristian came to us and ensure we were okay. He interacted with us and provided some samples of the sauces they make in house which were absolutely delicious, using all natural ingredients. The coffee in this place is amazing and the food was great! I ate the waffle sandwich which is a blast of different flavors! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for the great good and service!

This is my favorite local restaurant. The owner, Tristan , makes a point to welcome visitors and make sure they feel at home. The staff has always been friendly and responsive to me.

My favorite breakfast is the Brownbelt. A BLT sandwich with an added fried egg and Tristan’s homemade BLT sauce. It is light and very tasty.

Give it a try and enjoy! I highly recommend it.

I came here with my brother and nieces and nephews service was great they accommodate you well given the small size of the restaurant but it's worth it even if you need to wait afew minutes. The owner came out and greeted us all and conversed with us even gave us some extra pancakes free.. the quality of the food is great and they're french toast and home fries are my favorite anywhere. Waitresses were very nice and just a very great overall experience it's nice to see a hometown small business that seems to be thriving and not many places treat you on such a personal level

Terrific spot! Impeccable service! Friendly staff that keep it professional but add a family feel to the experience! Came in with my husband and daughter( picky eaters) and they loved their food, which made for an even better experience! Officially our new go-to-spot when we visit Union! Thanks to Tristan and Michelle for a perfect Cappuccino, and another wonderful family memory and go-to-spot! We will definitely be back!

The 401 is cozy and feels like home. We sit by the window and watch the hustle and bustle of Chestnut Street. The breakfast sandwiches are mouth watering, the coffee is perfect and the fresh squeezed OJ is so delicious. Their steamed milk with honey is very tasty. The servers and cook always welcome you with a smile. Love this place.

I really like this cafe. Great coffee, breakfast sandwiches are amazing - totally homemade if you know what I mean. They have a personal touch on everything they make, pretty quick to get in and out and very reasonable. The atmosphere is really cool, old school coffee shop.
