My husband and I are so happy we went with Rutgers Painting & Carpentry. Our gothic revival from the 1800s had extensive rot & chipping paint. We knew it was going to be a big project to strip the old paint and fix the wood work. Jose and his team were here rain or shine working all day to get the job done. They did a beautiful job and communicated with us through the entire process. They were so kind to my two year old son, we miss them already! Esteban and his carpentry crew did beautiful work matching the style of the original wood work we are so impressed. We will be in contact with Rutgers Painting and carpentry for our upcoming interior projects. I highly recommend their services.

Rutgers did a wonderful job on the exterior of our house a couple of years ago. It was such a great experience that we hired them again to do some interior painting. We are so pleased with their professionalism. They are neat and very willing to please. During the final inspection I know Esteban looked over the rooms and cared like it was his own home.

From the start, this company was Professional all the way. At my first sit-down with Vince, everything was laid out, clear, and all of the questions that I had were answered. I love the fact that the office, the foreman, and I shared a text chain throughout the process. The gentlemen who worked the job were thorough, professional, and meticulous. I got estimates from four other businesses and everyone came in around the same price. No one else offered a warranty like Rutgers. And, no one else were as thorough in their presentation. It was an obvious decision to go with them and I am so glad we did. The house looks amazing!

Our project manager (and the company owner) Kevin was super helpful in laying out what to expect and our foreman Miguel stayed in touch throughout the job. The work was completed on time with great attention to detail, and their warranty beats the competition by a long shot. Rutgers is second to none. Professional, quick and fantastic work. When you’re doing painting - especially exterior - prep is extremely important and Rutgers gets it done. The house looks fantastic and we couldn’t be happier!

Rutgers Painting was the best value of the three estimates we obtained, and we were extremely pleased with the professionalism of the painters. The job was started earlier than we initially expected and it finished when they said it would, even though there were some weather delays. Rutgers Painting just finished painting the exterior of our newly remodeled home in Peapack, NJ. This is the third time we’ve used Rutgers. Their work was outstanding. Donald, the owner, was very responsive in submitting what turned out to be a very competitive bid. Rutgers was very flexible in scheduling and rescheduling their work to accommodate our changing construction timely. Johnny and his team were meticulous in preparation and cleaning up each day, and did a beautiful job – using a special durable paint with a long term warranty. And there was no haggling with the usual special requests that accompany most projects. Bottom line, we highly, highly recommend Rutgers Painting.

We just had the exterior of our house painted by Rutgers. Walter and Marjorie’s team did our work and they did the most incredible job. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The house looks amazing! They were professional, meticulous, and incredibly fast. They showed up everyday on time worked incredibly hard and still managed to be mindful of our property. The painters were kind, considerate, responsive and above all, patient! We had an issue with our wallpaper order and they had to reschedule several times and were very patient and courteous. The product was excellent, we love our new walls and kitchen cabinets!

I'm not really sure where to start except by stating that Johnny and his crew were supreme! Our house looks fabulous - the best one on the block! Johnny and his team took their time, and left our property clean everyday. Johnny was patient and listened to any concerns that came up along the way and answered my questions thoroughly. You could tell his crew took pride in their work and worked well together. I am so impressed with their attention to detail. I also have to give a shout out to Mike, the carpenter, and for all his efforts and patience. We had a lot of rotting wood and as the painters prepared our house for paint, more rotting wood was uncovered and Mike took care of it promptly. His craftsmanship is excellent. So not only did the crew of painters work well together, but there was great communication between Johnny and Mike which made for a seamless experience from start to finish.

Purchased a new home in 2017. I have been waiting for the day I get to FINALLY change the color of my gross forest green home painted in 1970. Fast forward to the present and after some improvements, it was time to look for a painting company to paint the exterior of my home. I got a few quotes but decided on going with Kevin and his team at Rutgers Painting. The estimator was fair and knowledgeable and never upsold me. Prices were competitive so it was a no brainer. The job came out stunning. It was done way faster than I thought would happen. Less than 2 weeks and that was WITH the 4th of July, two Sundays, and a rain day for a 2,200 sq ft home. I had no problem with keeping communication open throughout the project and the foreman worked with me every day to make sure everything was how I wanted it. The guys arrived on time and stayed a lot later than most would have and wouldn't leave until they cleaned up after themselves and left it as if no one was there. It's actually motivating to see how hard people can work. Talk about professionals from start to finish. Zero regrets. Other than getting a new front door installed in the future. I'm done with the outside!

We recently had the exterior of our home painted by Rutgers Permanent Painting (August 2015). The process that Rutgers uses includes removal of all old paint on just about every surface, including very detailed moldings and trim. The prep work was enormous and incredibly meticulous. The product that Rutgers uses is much thicker than commercially available paint, and therefore Rutgers is able to offer vastly longer warranties than most paint companies (our is for 15 years). The length of the warranty is determined by the thickness of the paint used.

Kevin Sheridan (the owner) was fabulous to work with. He was flexible, accommodating, professional, and transparent. His crew was hard-working, and masterful at their craft.

Rutgers was the most expensive estimate we obtained. But we are amazed by how beautiful our home looks now. What we paid for and received was a restoration of the exterior of our home. The exacting standards that Rutgers employs is worth every penny.

We love Rutgers Painting. We have hired them now twice (for two homes) in Maplewood and both times they were amazing. Their attention to detail, prep work, communication and caring about finished product are all reasons why we are repeat customers. On both homes they fully sanded, prepped and painted with the ending result something both we as homeowners and them as painters were proud of. We'd highly recommend them for any paint jobs.

Rutgers just finished painting the entire interior of my house after a major renovation/addition, and are about to do the exterior as well. The crew worked hard every day and was courteous to us and our space. Their prep work and attention to detail was exquisite. Any questions, issues, or special requests we had were answered and complied with quickly. My daughter squealed with delight when she saw the finished paint job in her new room!
