Nissequogue River State Park

Such a beautiful and mysterious series of trails - I could get lost all day in them- probably better in early autumn as today I was quite cold after an hour.

Beautiful waterfront scenery with trails for walking and mountain biking all surrounded by mostly abandoned psychiatric buildings.

When walking along the bluff you will see a trail heading down to the water which is fun and challenging. However, we discovered a set of stairs up and down the bluff after the hike down 😂.

Had an excellent experience with the guided cub scout hike. The scouts learned how to identify different types of trees by leaves and the different types of plants that are found in the park. Our guide also went into the history of the park. There are many old abandoned buildings on the site that nature is gradually reclaiming.

Great place to spend the day, relaxing on the river. Follow the tides. Follow the river down when the tide is coming in, and return when the tide is coming out. Otherwise, you will be fighting the current, and that will not be fun.

Located on the grounds of the former Kings Park psychiatric institution this sprawling NYS park offers biking and hiking trails, launching areas for boats, kayaks, paddle boards (all by permit) waterfront views and much more. Great place to take the dogs too

Very peaceful and beautiful place. There is a very good bike path but might be a little spooky to be biking or jogging alone as some buildings are overgrown with trees and may feel very deserted, even in the broad daylight . You can also go down to the beach from stairs.

Nice place to see. It has old medical "diagnostics" facilities that has been abandoned a long time, and so they leave an uneasy feelings. Otherwise, the grounds and hiking trails are beautiful along the north shore of the island

Beautiful and breathtaking view, hike all the way to Sunken meadow, when Tide is low you can get on the water and cross to the other side of Kingspark and sunken meadow, best sunsets are seeing here, clear water, no waves, kind people, clean, bathrooms, for smithtown residents only, but there is available parking outside with a decent walking distance. It never looks the same, its very magical, fishing available

It is a nice area to walk around. Hopefully they will fix it up sometime soon so much space. Very cool to be at

I got to see plenty of wildlife on my last walk, something you don't see much of in the south shore parks. Love this walk p

Neat park with views of the abandoned buildings of the Kings Park Psyciatric Center complex. Ample parking and plenty of places to walk and bike.

Nice and quiet when I was there, not crowded either. Lots of Kayaking going on.

Great to park and walk through the woods to the private beach of Kings Park Bluff. Nothing they can do about it either. Private beaches should be illegal.
