Woodsy's has been around forever. It's a great store and they have reasonable prices for repairs. They have a great selection of instruments too.

Paul could not have been more helpful when I was buying an electronic drum set. Took his time, walked me around, showed me differences in sticks, amps, thrones, etc. Ended up with a very fair, if not great, deal. Furthermore, Yamaha is not allowing me to register the product for some reason so I called Paul, he wrote down all the serial numbers I could find, and is calling Yamaha for me to get things squared away. THAT is service!!

Will be returning to spend some time with Paul, as he helps me pick out a nice acoustic guitar. He stopped me from making a quick guitar purchase when I was buying the drums so I would make a smart decision, not an impulse one. "Like any instrument, there are different sizes, different uses, etc. Let's take the time to find the right one for YOU and not just spend money." I'm paraphrasing but that is an example of how I wish more businesses acted, in the best interest of the customer and not only the bottom line. I will shop nowhere else for my music needs after this experience.

Had a brand new set of bass strings break on me right out of the package, the gave me a new set no questions asked. Always had a pleasant experience there, they have a really great selection of consumables for a store of their size. I go there often, and will continue to go. If only they had a baritone electric guitar selection… I’d just have to say “shut up, and take my money.”

I've been coming to this store for years. Took amazing guitar lessons for 8 years. Just got a couple of hard to find Boss pedals here. Highly recommend the DS-1. Check out the store. 👍🏻

After completing some internet research, I reached out to Woodsy's by email because they had a difficult-to-find tenor saxophone, in stock, that I was interested in playing/testing. Hunter helped me throughout the process, over a few weeks. He was prompt to reply to emails and provided accurate and helpful information. I made a daytrip from Maryland to Ohio to try this instrument. Upon my arrival, Hunter, the instrument, and the practice room were ready and waiting. I was allowed as much time as I needed/wanted to thoroughly evaluate the instrument. Hunter was able to answer all my questions and convinced me, without any pressure, that purchasing the saxophone was a good decision. I returned to Maryland with a new saxophone, one that I am eager to start using as my primary instrument. I recommend you consider Woodsy's for any instrument purchases...beginner, amateur, semi-pro or pro,

I was searching for a particular Telecaster and found one at a price that seemed too good to be true - and it was supposedly in excellent condition. When I clicked on the link, I was surprised that the seller was Woodsy's. I knew Woodsy's well from my days as a student at nearby Kent State University, and it was the store where my dad once bought an acoustic guitar that became my first beater. Woodsy's shipped my Tele quickly (for free) and it was even better than described. I can't be happier and highly recommend them.

I have bought a few things for my instruments here. They have a decent selection and I really like that it is a locally owned business. The staff has always been kind and helpful. I also have known people to rent their sound equipment and they were affordable and easy to work with. It’s nice to walk down the alleyway next to building in summertime and here students practicing their music.

I ordered an Eastman acoustic guitar from Woody's. It was shipped promptly and arrived well-packed a 3 days later. It had a problem with the neck joint that was cosmetic (not structural) that should have never passed Eastman's quality control. After communicating with Paul at Woodsy's they refunded me part of the cost to avoid shipping it back for refund. I will definitely do business with Woodsy's again.

I regret few things in my life. One major regret is living in the surrounding are a for nearly 20 years and never stepping foot into this store until today. Hands down the best music store experience I have ever had. I am a drummer and they have a great drum selection. I felt comfortable here, unlike other guitar focused stores. The staff were helpful and very nice and I will certainly do business with them again. Great store!! Do yourself a favor and go!!

I brought my guitar in for a string change. After they were changed I noticed my guitar was playing funny so I brought it back and they adjusted the action and truss rod free of charge and now it plays smoother than ever. Support you local biz!

I love Woodsy's! Anytime I need help, KEVIN and WILL go ABOVE and BEYOND to assist with any issues we may have. Any customer service skills are hard to come by these days, but Will and Kevin are awesome!!!

I've been going to Woodsy's for years and I bought my cello from here. It is very good. I had my guitar lessons here as well. The staff are helpful and accommodating as well as friendly. Very knowledge and highly skilled professionals through and through. I do NOT go anywhere else for my musical needs. Seriously

This is a great place to go to for gigging horn players. The guys serving you are honest, knowledgeable, gigging musicians as well. They listen and don't try to upsell me. Moreover, I've had my horn serviced there and it always plays like new when I get it back! . Most music shops cater to percussionists and guitarists. It's really nice to find a place that's woodwind and brass friendly.

These guys are the real deal! I went in today to buy a keyboard. When I went to pull my car around to pick up the keyboard, my car was stuck. I went to grab the keyboard so this sales person could go back inside and go about his day while I figure out to do with my car. Sure enough the salesperson went inside, but to my suprise he went inside only to grab more help and a bucket of salt. I wasn’t easy but both the salespeople helped me for about 10 minutes in the freezing cold just to make sure I could get my car out of the lot and back home so I could play my new instrument. Without them I would probably still be stuck. This is the kind of customer service that goes above and beyond selling instruments. Because of the service and competitive pricing I don’t see myself ever buying an instrument anywhere else. Thanks Woodsy’s staff!

Woodsy's has always been my favorite local music store. It's very close by and it has everything I always need. As a drummer, I usually need a good amount of sticks. They can always provide. The employees are kind and know what they are talking about. Their selection of products rivals that of a big business music store. If you are a drummer I highly recommend going here as they have a large selection of drums and cymbals for very good prices. Keep up the great work Woodsy's!

Great place. I initially went in for a guitar set up/upgrade and an amp. There were a couple initial hiccups, not anyone's fault but a bit of a nuisance. The staff were super responsive and helpful. I ended up also buying a new amp. Guitar sounds exactly the way I hoped and plays wonderful. Great people to work with. Worth the trip even if you're not in Kent. I will be going back.

I've been going to Woodsy's since I was about 12 and now I'm 25. They're a good, honest shop and the people working there are experts on almost any instrument. Some of the older staff (owners maybe?) can be a little short with you from time to time, but I'd imagine I'd be the same way after putting up with the college kids for so many years haha. They're still really nice guys once they realize you're not there to play around with expensive equipment and leave. I much prefer Woodsy's over Guitar Center. They actually know what they're talking about and they're not the type to belittle you or make you feel insufficient like the cocky punks at Guitar Center. Support your local shop and come here!
