The Nightlight

This place is absolutely fantastic. The people working behind the bar are always so kind and it’s got such an intimate atmosphere. The selection of movies they get is always high quality. Can’t wait until they get a second screen.
Their membership is absolutely worth the money too. Twenty bucks a month gets you into every movie they have as well as free popcorn and a bunch of other perks. HIGHLY recommend.
They also have a full bar with drink specials that are based on the movie showing. Truly One of my favorite places in Akron.

Show good shows! I like the way a person comes out and introduces the films. I like the drinks. The ambience is fun. Tickets sell out often, so buy online ahead of time. They have cool membership packages. They are a non-profit, I think, right? Place is cool. Build the second screen!

An absolute gem for the NE Ohio community. I’ve laughed here, I’ve cried, I’ve fallen in love with every movie I’ve had the privilege of experiencing in this beautiful space. I make the 2 hour drive from Toledo just for The Nighlight!

Can't recommend highly enough. The theater is beautiful and the staff is always so friendly. They come out before the movie to thank you for showing up and supporting them as a nonprofit and to let you know how they're growing. The films I've seen there have always been fantastic. I consider myself so lucky to be within driving distance of the Nightlight.

We love this local theatre! Great selections and drinks. One of us finally got a membership last year and hope to go a few times a month this year!

Great venue! My wife and I have been here on a number of occasions. Comfortable seating, very friendly staff, and a unique selection of shows that you probably won't find anywhere else. The food and drinks are also reasonably priced, which is hard to find these days.

Great atmosphere, oh my gosh. So nice to go there and see some different, fun movies! Staff is so friendly. You can order alcohol. Seats are very comfortable. Love this theater!

Such a cute place! really has the cinema feel and oldie but modern vibe. Snacks and drinks at the bar but no real food options (for anyone wondering) I will surly bring friends and family here again soon. i really enjoyed having an adult drink and watching a movie. very intamate, small theater. Great place to see an interesting movie. Friendly, enthusiastic staff. Some of the audience can be a bit snooty/prickly- audience members tend to be baby boomers- but don’t let that stop you.

I came here 4/17 to see Inland Empire, and had such a wonderful time. The staff was so warm and personable it made the experience stand out. The woman who was working there that day was so passionate about film and seemed to truly love sharing that passion with others. I enjoyed the little bit of context she gave about the movie before it started-- it added to my viewing experience quite a bit. Also she seemed to really appreciate patrons, it made me happy to get thanked for coming to see the movie lol. Other pros: fun popcorn seasonings, cute decor/ambiance, considerate theater-goers who won't be loud during the movie. I will definitely make the effort to see a movie here instead of other theaters in the area. :)

I couldn't be happier they're open again! Cool selection of indie flicks, documentaries and cult classics, and super cosy like watching movies with a friend who has their own theater room.

Loved loved loved this gitchy little theater. The staff was super friendly and the young lady working the concession stand was so sweet and polite! I loved the cozy feel of this theater. The seating is comfortable sized seats with room to stretch your legs. The prices are very reasonable and the film we saw, "The Farewell" was excellent! I am looking forward to becoming a member and going back often

Awesome theatre. Go here a few times a year, so refreshing to see a movie and not have to sit through thirty minutes of commercials and previews, then listen to people talk over the movie because they think they are in their living room watching something on Netflix. Support this place, five stars!

What a cute little theater! They screen a lot of great art house movies and they have some great drinks too. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are into film!

This is my favorite place in Akron. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful theater. The people who work here are very passionate about film and fun to talk to. I love that they host screenings of older films as well as having a great variety of new cinema. The concessions are very reasonably priced with a great bar selection. Love the themed drinks! I am a member here and very happily come out once a month, at minimum.
