Cascade Plaza

Pretty cool. Must be beautiful in the spring and summer. Looks like a great meeting place for concerts and events. It looks like someone put a lot of thought into this area. It works.

Please check out the free skating! You only have to pay $2.00 to rent skates if you don’t have any. Pack snacks because the food vendors there are too expensive. The next time they’re there is August 5th. So much is happening downtown! Enjoy!

Went to the yoga class on Tuesdays and it was GREAT! Nice place to walk around and parking is right there!

Downtown Akron is trying to become a nicer place to visit and live. They are trying. There are little pockets of parks and areas that are great for families and pop up fairs. Main St. Is a nice place to walk around, eat, drink, and find a park!

They had a disco themed roller skating event. We had a great time!

Doesn't get much more plaza-y than this! Between building, check. Downtown, check. Flat surface, check. This plaza has all the plaza-ability required for all modern plazas, from glass, to concrete, to stone.

Went to the Christmas parade and loved it. Except for the freezing cold

Nice biking or walking trail. Serene. Take a loaf of bread and feed the ducks. The section shown is a little culvert with amphitheater seating overlooking the water feature that is adorned with colorful lighting at night. Apartments and businesses surround the area although I have never seen the locals on their balconies. I do wonder if it is a nuisance to them having non residents and sometimes rowdy folks enjoying the space surrounding their doorstep.

JuneTeenth Celebration featuring Ernies Catering located at 50 S.Main St. Normally and a variety of other food establishments. Lots to try. Ernie's Fried Catfish was the Bomb!! And Reasonably priced.

The plaza has a fountain sculpture designed by Don Drumm and erected in 1968, overleaf, stainless steel rods with anodized, cast aluminum panels.

Beautiful green space in downtown, there's always something going on near by

Cascade plaza is accessible area to hold outdoor events in downtown Akron. We stopped by for the Juneteenth event on June 10th.

Well where to start. If you asked me to describe this area 18 years ago I would have say dull and grungy. They transformed the area that once was desolate into a place of peace amongst a simi ghost town since everything was closed at the time I was there it was peaceful

Great place to watch games. Grilled cheese cheeseburger is to die for!

Beautiful views and quiet little spot in the middle of the city. Port-a-johns for public use are clean, and the entire plaza is tidy as well! This is a great place to attend community events, or just spread a blanket out on the lawn and center yourself with some YOU time. They also have tables and chairs around for anyone to use. My husband and I came into town for the Downtown Akron Partnership's Pokémon Go event in August of 2017. We loved this plaza so much, and were impressed by the serenity and cleanliness! We will be back. If you are in Akron, don't pass this place up!
