Second Sole Akron

Visited this Second Sole as a recommendation from my wife who had a good experience here in the past. Although this was my first visit and my first time ever being fitted for shoes as a runner, I was pleasantly surprised at the attention that I was given as a customer coupled with how well kept the store was. Aiman took care of me throughout the visit and was highly attentive to my needs concerning a new pair of shoes. Would recommend a visit for sure, and if the deals are right, I plan on continuing to do business here.

I’ve been coming to Second Sole for a few years now, and I’ve always been given the time and care to find the shoes I need for running long distance. Today, Aiman was absolutely wonderful in recommending the best shoes for me. He took the time to go through multiple pairs of shoes and let me run throughout the store to see which ones best fit my feet. I felt listened to when I talked about the specific types of shoes I needed, and I didn’t feel rushed or pressured to purchase any particular brand.
He also helped me pick out a super comfy hoodie, so that was a plus.
I highly recommend Second Sole! ❤

Michael and his entire staff goes above and beyond! My family will never buy shoes from any of the retail stores in Summit Mall again. Everyone was friendly and helpful, even when the store was packed. With Michaels advice, my daughter changed from her previous shoe to the Ghost and she has noticed improvements in her recovery immediately. THANKS SECOND SOLE!!!!!!

I have had wonderful experiences with Aiman, George, and the owner, Michael, every time I run into the store for new shoes. They are very professional and take the time to learn your running style to fit you with the perfect shoe, EVERY TIME. No wonder they are one of the best running shoe stores in the nation! #AkRun

I have been a customer of Second Sole for well over 10 years. Mike and his staff are highly professional, knowledgeable and dedicated to meeting all of their customers needs. Their commitment to the akron running community is second to none. You can be assured that you’ll leave Second Sole with not only the best products in the industry but the best products to suit your needs.

Just took my 8th grade XC runner there for his second set of shoes. They took time to look at his old shoes and fitted us with several pairs before settling on a good pair. I know nothing about running, so their advice was very helpful to us.

Mike went above and beyond for me and my daugther. My daugther had a track meet on a Sunday note the store doesn’t open til noon and my daugther’s meet was at 9am along with that one of her track spikes were destroyed. I called Mike without hesitation he said “ I’ll meet you at the store” that’s not a normal thing for anyone to do but we should all take notes. Amazing customer service and going above and beyond when he didn’t have to take my call!! Thank you 🙏

Best local shop for shoe shopping! The staff is very friendly, very engaged in your shopping experience, and all up to date on COVID regulations.

10/10 place if you need any help when shoe shopping

I went to replace the shoes I had worn out. I bought my second pair of Mizuno running shoes called Wave Inspire 19. Great shoes as still have a little flare-up of Plantar Fasciatis occasionally, and these shoes really ease that discomfort. The staff is very knowledgeable for fit of shoes too. Only tried one pair. My daughter got shoes also and tried 4 pairs but bought the first pair he suggested. Great store!

This is a wonderful sneaker store. Great for running or hiking sneakers. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and kind very kind. I thought they were open until six and realize they were only open until five. I was 20 minutes away and it was 10 till 5 PM. My son was going to be going out of town the next morning at 6 AM and needed a new pair of shoes as he had quickly outgrown his current pair. I called them and asked if I left right away would it be OK if I showed up 10 minutes after closing to buy a pair of sneakers. The gentleman on the other end was so kind and gracious. He immediately told me that that would be no problem and to come on down. I arrived 10 minutes after closing, and they welcomed me with open friendly, kind arms. While they were helping my son, I decided to buy a pair myself too. We were in and out in less than a half an hour two pairs of sneakers purchased and two insoles purchased. There was a woman there when we had arrived getting help with shoes. I think she tried on every shoe in there store. She was still there trying on shoes after we left. I would’ve been frustrated at that point. But these two young men in the store were so gracious and kind to this woman who couldn’t make up her mind up, It was unbelievable. Great people! Great shoes!

Went insuring lunch to be fitted and purchase shoes. The gentleman that waited on me worked with me until we found something that I believe will work for me. I like that I can return them if they dont workout in 14 days. Would recommend this place

A great place to get a running shoe. Knowledgeable staff was able to get me fitted and recommend a great shoe for my foot. Would recommend!

Took my daughter in for running shoes. They measure your foot, check out your arch height, and recommend which shoes you should try. Them they watch you run in them. Great store!

Had an amazing experience! They are incredibly personable, patient, kind but most importantly, knowledgeable. Very knowledgeable. Gus was especially amazing helping me and my husband- I found not one but two pairs of new running shoes…even a pair that were on sale! Thanks Gus!

Super helpful and knowledgeable. I went in for help with shin splints. I left with new shoes, compression sleeves and some more knowledge on treating and prevention. Just from watching me walk in and walk to the bench they knew what was going to help my situation. My legs and feet feel great. A 10-15 minute stop into the store has totally changed my running comfort. I will go here for any running needs and absolutely recommend anyone at any level stop in and check it out.

This is an excellent place for service and inventory. The gentleman who helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful . .I bought a pair of HOKAs.
