Tequila's Pagosa

OK sitting at table with five friends in our private alcove at Tequilas's. Surprised at mediocre reviews as we love it, service is impeccable, inside is comfortable and attractive, and food is tasty (and reasonable given locale). Few of our crowd has been here many times so top review is based on more than today.

Writing before I enter, no matter the food quality this joint at the San Juan River Scenic Overlook in Pagosa Springs is worth a stop. Where else with one 360 degree can you get the essence and vibe of this area. GO.

They’re understaffed just like everyone else in this economy! So keep that in mind. I was craving Mexican food and we decided to give this place a chance despite the reviews. We did go around 7:30. And we were done around 8:40. Luis was amazing and helped another waitress with us. Staff was super kind despite being overwhelmed. Take this restaurant with a European perspective and expect to just chillll. ;) food was so good and the portions were MONSTROUS.

Massive portions! We ordered a combo plate and shared it. The Margarita was delicious.

The service was great.

We dined later in the evening outside on their deck overlooking the river and the hot springs. It was an enjoyable, pleasurable meal.

Reading the low star reviews I realized the reasons people gave them was for ridiculous reasons. I went here with the girls during our girls weekend the first night we got to Pagosa and we loved it! The drinks are fantastic, I recommend the strawberry daquiri and flavored margarita (any flavor). Food was good, very large portions! You won't leave this place thirsty or hungry that's for sure! Note: they only have bottled water for 1$.

As a Mexican woman myself, I am always hesitant to eat Mexican restaurants especially in towns that attract many tourists. I ordered the carne asada and the meat was delicious! The portions are huge too and fairly priced for the area. The restaurant itself is bright and pretty and our waitress was very kind. It was nice to have somewhere to eat a great meal late at night after soaking.

Went today for lunch. The chicken Taquitos were amazing. The servers are very nice and know their menu.
The original Margaritas are amazing too.
Definitely coming back.

We come to Pagosa Hot Springs at least 2-3times a year. It's directly across from where we are staying. The food has always been great and plentiful. Highly recommend this place.

View was nice over looking the river and the hot springs... very cold but people were in Bathing suits and bath robes walking around getting in and out of the hot springs and the cold plunging into the mostly frozen River... very small and friendly town but busy with winter and summer tourism

Tequilas was super good, food was great, service was great. Anyone who complains about paying a dollar for a bottle of water in a town where its sulfar water all around can get bent! Everything was delicious! Will be back next time we come through.

Me and my husband went in last night for a quick drink and some chips and queen last after the hot springs, our bar tender was great, and it was exactly what we wanted ❤ sounds like a lot of the bad reviews just need a little patience and human compassion

We had gone in at about ... 5pm on a Thursday and it was very welcoming. It was busy but it was a quiet busy, which was very lovely. Our server was most pleasing, she was an elderly lady and was very on it with our drinks and had other tables to wait but was very attentive to us and everyone else in her area.

The food was outrageously delicious. We had ordered one Steak Fajitas and one Super Chimichanga and was very pleased with how everything came out. We both enjoyed our food as they came out hot and ready for eating! The food was served in good time, waiting about 7-10mins, which for us was perfect as it gave us time to chat more and eat on the complimentary chips and salsa.

The steak was cooked to my boyfriends liking, and his whole meal was near perfect. The fried veggies that came with the steak were delicious, and his fixings of salsa, guacamole, refried beans and rice were all cooked and made well and to his liking. If only he had a few more corn tortillas, it would have been 100% satisfactory. LOL. My shredded beef chimichanga was to die for. Very savory and juicy, that with all the fixings, rice, refried beans, sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole, you can't go wrong!

This was a last minute stop for us and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed our dinner there and will definitely come again. We had great parking out front and nice Mexican music. We had a great experience!

Very friendly reception and servers. Nachos with hot sauce are delicious. We had the chicken fajitas and the carne asada chimichanga. Very tasty. Refills came quick and plentiful.

We were seated right away and our server was very nice! Food was super tasty with great portions! We sat outside on the patio and had a great view of the river. Definitely enjoyed the atmosphere very much!

Maybe my family was just really hungry, or maybe we were craving some great Mexican food like carne asada, or spicy salsa… but Tequila Pagosa was so enjoyable! The food was piping hot, the salsa was amazingly fresh and picante! My only complaint is that it’s easy to overeat here.

The plate tells the story. Service was quick. Food was great. I see that some complain but our experience was excellent and the food was wonderful

So happy to get good Mexican food outside of texas!

We had the shrimp fajita plate that comes with a chipotle sauce and a combo 2 flauta and cheese enchilada

The chips and salsa here are excellent! I really enjoyed the salsa

And I think next time I’m going to get way more enchiladas they were deliciousness

We will be back soon!

Great restaurant, great service and my drink was delicious! Had a sangria and the food was spontaneous!
