TMJ & Orofacial Pain Treatment

I am extremely grateful to everyone at the TMJ & Orofacial Pain Treatment Center of Wisconsin for the exceptional care I received there. I arrived experiencing extreme pain, and was given a protocol that included X-rays, a doctor's examination and physical therapy. Everyone is very kind and supportive. The staff is very helpful in explaining the schedule of treatment and making appointments. The physical therapists did an incredible job of helping ease the pain. They were also very generous with their time to educate me on what was going on with my body. Dr. Peck was very thorough in considering my condition. He also went above and beyond the basic care to make sure that all aspects of my situation were addressed. Now I am not the person I was when I arrived at their office that first day. To live every day pain-free is a marvelous gift. I cannot adequately express my gratitude to everyone at the Center who took such great care of me, and helped me on the path to better health.

Have been a patient since 2008. Helped with my TMJ. I no longer have my jaw popping and get very rested sleep. Dr. Mackman and staff are very friendly and easy to schedule appointments.

Been using them since 2005 ish and they are probably the only reason I can still eat, sleep, or talk without pain, locking, or clicking in my jaw!

I have had TMJ headaches almost 50 years. I have woken up just about every single morning with a headache that would last about an hour or two, until my jaw muscles would loosen up. On top of that, the full day headaches and migraines that were being triggered because of the tension.
I was recommended to Dr Peck by my Physical Therapist.
Dr Peck was not only able to explain, so I could understand, what was going on with my jaw but also bring so much relief. After a lifetime of different dentists and retainers none helped more than a little.
Morning headaches completely gone and headaches and migraines probably reduced by 75-80%, barring any other triggers. I am SO happy with these results!!
Also, Dr Peck is very nice.
Definitely give him a try. Dont give up looking for relief, you just need the right professional.

I was referred 12 years ago by my dentist to Dr. Mackman when my jaw was locking up. He made me a custom splint that led to a quick recovery. I still wear my splint to bed due to my grinding. Whenever I have had set back or injury he is able to get me in quickly and I am again on my way to pain free eating, talking, and sleeping. He has an friendly and upbeat attitude. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mackman's for 17 years. After the initial treatment, my jaw has been stable with no problems. I continue to see him once or twice a year. I've had the opportunity to see other doctors in the practice when Dr. Mackman was unavailable and the care provided was seamless. I highly recommend them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mackman for over 2 years. I have been very impressed with him since my initial visit. He ordered a CAT scan my first visit, explained the results comparing my scan to a normal scan of the same area. He explained my treatment plan and prognosis. He gave me, easy to read and understand, booklets to read on my condition, which was extremely helpful. I like that he is friendly and very talkative and takes time to answer questions. I think the office staff and his assistants are very friendly, professional and accommodating.

I have been seeing Dr. Mackman for over 3 years and my jaw has healed tremendously. I could barely open my mouth before I started treatment. He is the most caring and helpful doctor I have ever worked with and highly recommend. The receptionists are always super nice especially Liz and Shirley.

Great doctor, I saw 3 other TMJ specialists before I met Dr Mackman. They were no specialists & did not help me, one even made it worse. Dr Mackman helped my jaw joint to heal & my headaches & jaw pain are very rare. I highly recommend him!

My whole experience with TMJ Center has been very positive. I initially went in last year with jaw and neck pain, head aches and tinnitus. My treatment included physical therapy and a mouth splint that I wear at night and a few hours a day.
After a few months of wearing the device and doing the neck stretches they taught me my headaches and pains have been resolved. My tinnitus continues but no where near the level it was before.

I truly believe my treatment resolved the issues and will continue with it. I may have to wear my apparatus all the time at night but that’s a small price to pay to resolve the headaches and jaw pain.

I recommend TMJ Center to anyone with my symptoms and others associated with the jaw.

Having had 3 crowns done in 1 year, including 1 root canal, and my age: 66, resulted in left jaw-hinge pain (my words). My dentist recommended TMJ & OPTCOW. I chose the Racine location. I started seeing Dr. Desai in April 2021 to get a treatment plan & fitted for a Bite Guard to gradually make some adjustment to my bite & relax certain muscles in my face/jaw. Started Physical Therapy 2 weeks later with Affiliated Health of WI PT (reviewed separately) in the same Racine office. I finished my PT in office, about a month ago - still doing jaw/neck/shoulder exercises at home (as part of my ongoing self-care). Now seeing Dr. Desai every 3 months - nearing my once-a-year check-up with him. Would Highly Recommend this Treatment Center! All of the staff in Racine made me feel comfortable & answered any/all questions I had. Great People/Great Service.

My experience here has been beyond words. My case was very serious as I was at the point where I could barely open my mouth to any sufficient amount and I could not be where I am today without the help of many here at the TMJ treatment center. My doctor, Dr. Bolton, and therapists have come together to make a very great team in order to better me and help me help myself as well. My progress has been stunning and every single face here has been welcoming and made this place a very comfortable one. They have given me hope again that I did not have, that my normal opening can be attained and I am so grateful!!

Started having very bad jaw pain radiating into my ear and jaw clicking/popping. Dr. Peck was awesome, had an appliance made that resolved my problems within a few months. Highly recommend Dr. Peck.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mackman's for 10 years. I have been very satisfied with the prompt care I have always received. My jaw pain was alleviated after therapy and a special splint that I am still wearing today.

I've been seeing Dr. Mackman for years, can't even remember how long it's been! He's wonderful and I love going back each year for my yearly visits to catch up. When I first started, things seemed to be going well. I was doing great, then all of a sudden, had a huge flare up and big setback. Through it all, Dr. Mackman and everyone in his office were great! He got me in right away and immediately took care of me, from office appointments and getting me right up to physical therapy. It was amazing and I truly am thankful for the time and effort that went into my recovery during that setback. Now I'm on yearly checkups and my jaw feels amazing. No more popping, clicking, or headaches. I would recommend him to anyone, in fact, I have. My mom currently sees him and absolutely adores him as well.

Dr. Mackman is a great TMJ specialist! He was recommend to me by multiple family friends, and is very funny and caring. He wants the patient to succeed and won't leave you be until there is progress (in a good way!) Thanks to his treatment I am seeing less and less pain and my jaw is healing well. A lot different from a few months ago. I'd recommend him to anyone with these problems.

I have seen Dr Mackman for 15 years. He has stabilized my jaw and saved it from further damage. My jaw has healed and it feels better than it has in a long time. I highly recommend his services to anyone with TMJ or jaw problems.

I’ve been going to this TMJ clinic for almost 2 years. I started out with approximately 23 cm and now I’m up to 49 cm. The doctors and the staff are all very helpful. If you have questions or are unsure about something, Dr. Mackman has the time to speak to you and to make sure you understand what’s going on.

Dr. Mackman is wonderful. He is funny and nice-not mean at all as some have said. I did everything he told me to do. Kept the appliance in as instructed. Went to physical therapy. Did my at home therapy. I am now on 6 month visits. I have no jaw pain, ear pain or any other pain associated with TMJ. And yes. The Tosa office is extremely outdated. But I can live with that!

Dr. Mackman has been amazing at erradicating my jaw pains. When I first started seeing him, I was experiencing excruciating pain on a daily basis. After about a year and a half under his treatment plan, I am now almost completely pain free, with only an occasional flare up. Dr. Mackman is always friendly when I go to see him and truly cares about making his patients feel comfortable.
