Everyone who works there is super nice. They answer all my questions and make it very Easy for me to know what to do about getting signed up for a membership. I love this branch because they have two pools and basketball court, rock, climbing wall, kids area, they have two or more workout areas! It’s all around a great place to spend time. I have little ones and it makes it a great time.

The facility was well kept and cared for. The employees were engaging and helpful. I almost forgot how humid an indoor pool can get. Surprisingly despite the strong odor of chlorine it didn't sting my eyes horribly bad so I'll be returning.

This review is specifically for the aquatics program at the Briggs YMCA. Stellar. I simply cannot say enough good things. If you are looking for a place in the Olympia area to take your kids to learn to swim, this is the place. My kids have taken intensive summer group lessons, weekly group lessons, and private lessons. All the instructors are great. I have been particularly impressed with Aaron specifically for kiddos who are at the level
4 stage and learning to build stamina. Jackie (the aquatics director) and Anne (the aquatics coordinator) always reply quickly to questions and emails and both do a great job managing the program. Prior to taking lessons at the Y we tried a different program in the area and our Y experience is leaps and bounds better. There is no better place than the Briggs YMCA in the Olympia area to take your kids to learn to swim. Highly recommended.

We have had a wonderful experience with the YMCA swimming lessons. A few years ago, we enrolled our kids in swim lessons at a different aquatic facility in Olympia. Sadly, after almost 2 years of instruction at that facility (including semi-private lessons), our children still could not swim. To clarify, when we started swim lessons at the YMCA in July of 2023, my children could not swim any strokes or pass the swim test in the pool. Thankfully we were able to complete multiple week long lesson sessions with much success at the Y. By the end of August 2023, both kids could swim multiple strokes the length of the pool and tread water! They both passed the YMCA swim test by the end of the summer and by the end of September, both passed the lap swim test. My daughter enrolled in the intro to swim team class three months after starting instruction at the Y. The instructors were wonderful and we saw the improvements each week in the kids. We are very thankful for the Y and for their great team of instructors for teaching our kids how to swim and stay safe in the water. I would highly recommend the Y swim lessons to other families.

A very "non-competitive" , common- ground, non-judgy, safe-feeling, place. Inclusive of all ages, all abilities. Great equipment. Very kind, helpful staff, and dynamic instructors. Lots of windows, on both floors ( so no "locked-in" discomfort).
I can't help but smile watching kids enthusiastically race into the building, then hear their happy laughs doing fun stuff.
And it's empowering to see people employ discipline; testing/trying their physical limits.
I love to go. And Zumba kicks gluteals!!!

Come join us people. This is my happy place. We are a nice friendly environment and it feels like family to me. Other gyms I went to feel more like a prison setting and I hardly ever saw any smiles or small talk. You wont get that here at the Y.

The staff are always lovely, the facility is pretty amazing with so much to offer. My family uses the activity pool during free swim every week. It's become a cherished weekly family bonding activity. It happens to also get my kids super comfortable and confident in the water, to the point that I think they'll easily conquer swimming lessons soon.

The staff has always been welcoming and attentive to any questions that I might have. We have attended family friendly classes and utilized the personal exercise machines individually and as a family. The layout is unique but not hard to maneuver. Clean female locker room and the bathing suit drier is pretty convenient.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The instructor (Dan) provides the same level of attention to all of the students in the class and very considerate to each of his students' level of experience in swimming.

Love spending time at the pool and working out in the water, which is much easier for me than "on land".

Awesome staff, clean facility and affordable swim classes. Every swim coach we have had was patient and caring. Thanks to their class routines, my daughters are becoming more confident and capable swimmers. We look forward to more classes at Briggs.

Love the staff and kids zone. For any families who are one income/low income this gym is great with their membership price and everything offered for kids. Also the kid zone hours have been extended which is amazing, they’ve been offering a lot more classes for kids of all ages as well as classes for adults, they also offer birthday parties now.

Doing lots of updates and upgrades. Place is getting more vibrant and friendly. Staff is very helpful, friendly and full of energy.
My kids are involved in almost every program they offer at their age groups. Swim teachers are super friendly and patient. Lifeguards are very attentive.
The martial arts program is great, and the teachers are very firm but kind, though for kids that are a little more sensitive to a firm personality it might be a little difficult, but MA is about discipline so it is to be expected that they have high expectations from the kiddos.
The kids zone has amazing helpers, my shy girl feels very safe playing there with them.
Overall I love the direction this location is headed, I've attended this location since i was on middle school, 2003 so it is great to see this location continue to thrive.
