What a gem of a restaurant. I genuinely wish I had more days available while visiting to eat here! The service was polite and tentative, the food was INCREDIBLE. Our table ordered quite a few entrees and every single bite was tasty. Fresh, made with love, and the perfect sized portions. Hope to one day return!

Fantastic experience with top notch service, atmosphere, and delicious food. Chef Renee is a sweetheart and really cares about the quality.

The salmon slab is a must get and they often have special fresh king salmon; the chowder and nachos are also favorites.

Didn’t get to try the Mac n cheese but it looked delicious as well.

One of my all time favorite restaurant experiences in Alaska. Excellent salmon. Fun and tasty nachos. Great Alaskan berry ice cream (recipe from a sous-chef of local Native American roots. It’s the version without seal fat if you were wondering). One of their peeps is a sommelier and got me to try the (now empty) rosé pictured. I hate rosé but this was so good I got the bottle for me and friends. Everyone enjoyed their meal: my slab of fresh king salmon, rockfish tacos, and a cod sandwhich. Slightly on the pricier side BUT you forget the price as the chill vibes, quality food, and lovely service is all worth it and more. (Note: they don’t do/take tips ever).

I went for lunch and it was really crowded so there wasn’t any place inside. Even it was cold the food looked so good I ate outside in the cold. It was totally worth it!!!!!

I order salmon with kale salad. It was AMAZING.

The service was amazing too the people so kind and with such a good energy!!! Thank you for an amazing experience visiting Sitka.

Great food. I enjoyed the Paella which had reindeer sausage, salmon, and other seafood. Others had salmon Mac & cheese and grilled fresh salmon.
We all enjoyed their chowder.
Bill was about $120 which also included 2 decals, a soda, 2 ice cream sandwiches, and a huge sundae 🍨.
They are a "no tipping" establishment.

Thank you to the server that recommended the Malbec. I had a half kale salad, that considering how I feel about kale, was really delicious. Also enjoyed the Facacia bread with roasted garlic and basil butter.
Not sure how long they stay open after the tourists leave, but we'll definitely be back!

Happy friendly people eager to help here. A little different atmosphere because it was all team work.

We ordered the salmon plank of course. I chose to upgrade to the king and personally, think it was worth it. My wife got the regular salmon.

This is a must visit if you come to sika. Great food!!! I wish I would have taken pics.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch after taking a 2 hour nature tour and it was fantastic. We got the chowder and barley soup to start, along with a couple a of drinks (North wind cider and Harper Mountain hazy IPA). For the main dish, we got slab salmon and rockfish tacos. Both of these dishes were simple but well executed! Quite tasty!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes (which isn’t always a given). We also enjoyed the ambiance as it shares a building with the local radio station.

Keep this secret to yourself until AFTER you get back on the cruise ship! Locals all know and love it and want to keep it that way! Great food at reasonable prices, fantastic fun & friendly service. The Beak is named after the octopus’s beak but happily the owner/chef refuses to eat or serve those wonderful intelligent creatures and focuses on local fish and other options instead. The chowder is incredible, the salmon Mac and cheese was the best we’d ever had. The blackened lingcod was great too.

Had a very good experience here today. Fresh caught King Salmon on a cedar plank with amazing kale salad, salmon macaroni, and smoked salmon nachos. All tasted amazing and photo worthy. Prices reasonable too, in a historic building right in downtown next to the harbor. Our new favorite Sitka restaurant. We're only here for 4 days this visit, but we'll eat there at least one more time before we leave.

Sweet, unassuming little place that has AMAZING food! Service is attentive and efficient. FYI: even though they don't accept tips, if you do, the team donates them to local charities-CLASS ACT! Highly recommend stopping by!

If you’re in Sitka I recommend stopping to eat at Beak! The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere and service was beyond exceptional. I ended up getting the chowder and the Mac and cheese with added Salmon. I also appreciate that instead of tipping they set their prices and pay a fair wage to their staff.

Check this place out for sure! BEAK was such a great find!! We stumbled upon this place on Google while sitting at another restaurant in Sitka who stuck us in a dark corner in a back room. So glad we decided to walk out after 10 minutes passed by and no one came by to wait on us. The Beak had fabulous food and we walked right in and was seated immediately and had exceptional, super friendly service. I cannot tell you how delighted we were to have accidentally found this place. I highly recommend supporting this small business and you will not be disappointed in the food and service. One thing that really stood out the most is they do not accept tips because their staff is paid a living wage. OUTSTANDING!! 🥰 5 stars for food. 5 stars for service. 5 stars for atmosphere.

Great little spot!! Highly recommend a visit here! Very cute place in an old historical building. Had fresh king salmon and salmon chowder. Had to try the gooseneck barnacles..weird but not bad. Servers were so friendly and helpful. Everything was delicious.

Beak would stand out anywhere. It is a charming, unpretentious, warm place to eat superior food beautifully prepared. The day we spent in Sitka (which has a carefully curated, well-stocked independent bookstore as well) was finished to perfection with dinner at Beak. There was salmon, caught that day, and a kale salad that complemented it. Great wine, beer, desert, and a staff that seemed genuinely pleased when you were happy. Truly, a meal to savor.

What a pleasant surprise to find this gem in Sitka! An amazing menu of mostly high quality seafood with a few Alaskan meat specialities. I had an elk stew and my wife had a black cod dish - both were amazing!

This our first time at Sitika,Alaska it's beautiful majestic place that we even before it rain most of the time but we saw Bald eagle it was incredible exciting to see one. We shopping we many thing at this time we were very hungry we one shop keepers what restaurant you recommended she go to the Beak restaurant they serve reindeer sausage and fresh salmon chowder then we decided to headed to the restaurant.

When we go there it was pack but host was so found a couple to share their table with us very nice then she hand us the menu. She ask us our drink order I order Alaska IPA beer and water then we order. My order the soup and Kale salad and for myself I order mac cheese with reindeer sausage and a cup of their salmon chowder. The beer was incredible good taste I enjoy it very much. She brought our meal the mac n cheese was incredible good then I notice the reindeer sausage and salmon chowder looks so good I took a spoon of the chowder wow this chowder is incredible I told the waitess is the chowder is made fresh she say say daily. Place looks a bit odd, but is a little secret. It seems to be very well liked by the locals. Space is shared with a radio station, which is kinda cool. Space is very funky and unique but on good ways. Each table is a different dining set (love that idea) and have outside seating too. They do not have a large menu, but what they do have is very unique and full of flavor. They really put together some wonderful belly filling meals. Alcohol and coffee selection is also very nice. Staff are extremely friendly and they do not accept tips here, who does that anymore?! Definitely try this place out if you are in port.

Absolutely lovely ambiance and food, great service and yes they offer fresh caught seafood. We had the Salmon special of the day with an amazing Salad using pickled veggies from a Juneau supplier and it was all fantastic. This place looks a little unassuming from the outside but you will NOT regret dining here!

This was the perfect bowl of chowder. Best I've ever had. Beats Boston, Maine, Scotland. And the cheese scone was absolutely melt in your mouth. I sinfully smothered it with butter and sea salt. A gluttonous lunch from heaven.
