Penny's Diner & Speakeasy

My husband and I went for valentines dinner at the speak easy. The atmosphere was refined, sophisticated and extra romantic. Everyone was smiling and friendly and all the female patrons were given a red rose. I had the sea bass and my husband had the New York strip. Both meals were very satisfying though we did save room for desert- crème brûlée and cheese cake which tasted as if they were homemade. We can’t wait to go back again and to try the diner (breakfast/lunch) side soon.

Came here for chocolate chip pancakes and unfortunately didn’t know the breakfast times.

The inside is gorgeously appointed with 50s memorabilia. Spotlessly clean you can eat off the floors.
Servers were so welcoming and friendly which helps when its your first meal of the day lol.
I hesitated about the hot dog and chili price, but when it came out with their onion rings, omg. A big high quality dog.
Topped with homemade chili, i wish there was more.
My wife had the Turkey club with onion rings and she loved it. Plenty there.
The rings were a beer battered type, nice and hot.
The dinner side was super cute and elegant with copper ceilings, and dark wooden features. Almost like a cozy library.
Its crazy how this place looks inside versus outside.
Unfortunately county issues with signing prevents them to tell you whats here etc…
Don’t pass by, come on in and take a peak even if its for next time!
Btw, breakfast only until 11 am.
Cash preferred, and its what the menu is based on and they charge 3.74% for credit.

Penny's has the second best breakfast in Punta Gorda in my opinion. The food is good, but just not quite as great as my top breakfast pick. The atmosphere is great and the food is definitely what you would expect from a diner. Our service was meh. We had to flag people down to get refills of water, coffee, and our check. The diner was only about half full, our waitress just didn't come over to our table very much.

We have been to Penny’s many times for breakfast & lunch. We went last night to the Speak Easy. It was an awesome experience. The atmosphere was relaxing, the music was lovely & mellow and the food was fantastic. 😘Three of us had different meals and we all enjoyed our choices. We definitely will return. It was one of the best evenings we have had.

Absolutely love love LOVE this place!! I eat here as often as I can. The breakfasts are the best in Punta Gorda and the dinners at the speakeasy: I can’t say enough about! I love the prime rib, meatloaf and French onion soup. The music is great too. 😊

This is one of our favorites in Punta Gorda! It is a cute retro themed breakfast and lunch place 7 days a week. Then, 4 nights a week, on the other half of the building, they have a beautiful fine dining Speakeasy. The food was always on point. They have good consistant cooks! The staff goes out of their way to make everyone satisfied. Karissa and Penny will take great care of you. Cannot say enough good things about this fun, quirky, cute place!

We enjoyed a WONDERFUL Lunch on Tuesday. The place is so clean you could eat off the floors. Susie our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu ( so much to choose from ) and very happy to see Gordon & Penny.. Working very hard as usual. Compared to the Old Place.. This is a 10000% better

Penny's is such a fun place to eat with their 50's theme. ALL the servers are super friendly and welcoming. Penny is always there, making sure everything runs smoothly. Food is delicious with a great selection. Can't wait for the Speak Easy to open!

Wonderful breakfast! Penny knows her stuff, good food, nice atmosphere. The picture of the pancake is only about 1/2 the Mancake! My Benedict was already gone. They don't do the Benedict every day but I was lucky. So good!

5 of us for breakfast. Good coffee. 2 had mimosas. All ordered different breakfasts, a very cute new spot! We will try dinner another day.

The food and service was amazing! It was so clean inside. Everything came out hot and fresh, and it was delicious!

A nice little jewel hiding in plain sight. Went for breakfast but got lunch instead. The Cuban sandwich was excellent! Plenty of parking, too.

Lori Lee was one of the best singers we were privileged to listen to . Please have her back before we leave April 25th.

Have eaten @both Diner (breakfast) & Speakeasy(dinner). Both very good. Food well made & tasty, server very pleasant, nice menus. A bit of a wait @ both due to crowd.

This is a great little place had dinner our first time there loved it so much came back for breakfast server was very nice i think his name is david as well staff members were nice owners both greeted us even other customers were very nice as and happy i will be back thank you

The workers are super nice the food is really good it didnt take too long for the food to come out i got the half order of biscuits and gravy and i still ended up having to take it home

We got breakfast I got the bowl and my husband got a breakfast meal. We loved the quality in the food and the service was beyond amazing
