Mobjack Tavern

Wow! Our first time visiting and yum! We had a shrimp egg roll appetizer which is a whole shrimp stuffed with goodies, then Michael Lynn Walker had fish and chips and I had their sandwich special Hawaiian chicken wrap with pineapple, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes and sweet ginger sauce that was amazing. Definitely will be back!!

AMAZING! I’ve been looking for some great tacos and I’ve found them here! I cannot stand coleslaw and forgot to ask the waitress to take it off. Lo and behind, I’ve found a coleslaw that I enjoy! It’s perfect on the shrimp tacos! Husband got a burger and he said “even the bun tastes delicious”. Definitely coming back!

The bar was super clean and I loved that they're a plastic free restaurant!! It was super cute that the regulars could keep their metal straws there to use. I got the seafood platter and was impressed at the portions. The mashed potatoes were DELICIOUS and tasted very homemade. I also got a bloody mary and it was the first time I had one with A1 in it and I was so happy that they did it a little different. Definitely worth a trip! Maybe next time I'll try a dessert.

We rode in with a poker run. Service was quick, beer was cold. All the food was hot and good!! I'll be returning soon to try their dinner entries!

Food was DELICIOUS! Beer was yummy as well. I would recommend this place for sure and definitely come back. Bathrooms were clean. Live music was good as well. We had the prime rib dip with the vegetable of the day, cobb salad with parmesean dressing, and the tavern fries with extra.

I went there and the lady waiting our table was just lovely. I ordered a wine and a beautiful salad. All at once, I became very ill and had to go to the er. I took the salad home and my sweetheart ate it and said it was great. My illness had nothing to do with the restaurant, everything there was fabulous! I'll go back to eat as soon as I'm better. Thank you to the lady there that was so kind & understanding.

We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the servers are helpful, positive, and friendly. Executive Chef Andres Sandoval provided us with exceptional dishes that were very flavorful! We look forward to returning again and again!

This restaurant has the best crab cakes! The seafood pizza is pretty great too. I cant say we have ever had a bad meal here. They have (as so many other businesses) had staff shortages but you can tell they are trying. Just be patient. The attached brewery is a fun place to have a beer, snack or meal. Outdoor seating is a plus unless a nasty smoker shows up. They have live music and if it is in the main dining room I recommend you sit elsewhere because it is so loud you can't talk....nice to have but I like to converse with my dinner companions!

We definitely wish we would have tried this place sooner! Food was amazing and service was great. I'm not usually a fan of most seafood restaurants because I prefer to make it at home so I'm highly impressed.

Service or food? Which is better? Hard to say because on both of our visits they've been on point!! The beers are great, the food original, well done and reasonably priced. We will be back and will add more reviews. This visit we had the pizza. Great crust, sauce and fresh veggies.

Prime Rib- 10/10, moist and full of flavor.
Mashed potatoes, 10/10
Mac and Cheese, 10/10
Hot Wings, 5/10 no taste, not even mild wing flavor

Very nice experience at Mobjack watching the DeLoreans. The service was a little slow, but it made up for it with great beer, food, and show. Service is very friendly and responsive to customers, but be mindful of longer wait times on packed nights. Food is high quality, especially for a tavern, and the local brewery produces excellent beer. The brewery is largely independent of the tavern, and I highly advise getting a few glasses of their beer during your visit. Definitely a distinct rural Tidewater taste. Overall, a very friendly, wholesome, and fun time.

I wanted a cocktail and some good seafood. I got just what I wanted. Best meal I've had in a long time. Excellent service too! Seafood Platter - super fresh, perfect breading. I'll be back!

Amazing staff, and the Food was Fabulous! Our First time there and We So Appreciated it. We will be back.

A little slow due to training a new server, but the beer and food was great! I've had fish tacos before, but never tuna tacos. Would definitely order again. We live 3'ish hours away but will come back next time we're in the area!

Exactly what we expected sitting at the bar to watch sports. The drinks/food/timing/service were all awesome. We will definitely be back.

Great food! Crab cakes were exactly as described on menu...no fillers! Delish! Band was good but due to restaurant size it was a little tough to have a conversation at the table (reason for 4 star atmosphere)

Great pizza. Mobjack wharf was really better than expected.
Beer was very nice too.
