Los Portales Mexican Restaurant

We had a very enjoyable lunch. Chips and salsa to start, so many choices on their menu! My friend always gets shrimp and rice, so I thought I'd try it. Once I saw the menu, I changed to a Burrito Acapulco-shrimp, scallops, fake crab, with real crab on top. It was delicious and I brought half home. My husband brought home half of his Steak Fahita Enchilada also. We were not asked how our food was and were not offered refills on my husband's soda. That is why only 4 stars for service. The waiter did walk by a couple of times. We were not deep into conversation, so he wouldn't have been interrupting important conversation. We were served our food quickly after ordering and it was nice and hot. We will definitely go back. This location is in Gloucester, VA. I have heard good reviews from friends on the other locations

My wife and I came there with limited expectations and were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent, as was the food, the atmosphere in the dining room. The prices appeared a little pricey, but after tasting the food, the cost was well justified. We were discussing our wonderful dining experience walking out the door and were still doing so when we reached our home 8 miles away. This restaurant is truly a treasure hidden in plain sight and we highly recommend it...

This place was a huge shock to us. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, but they clearly know what they're doing! Large, beautiful, and very clean inside. The menu had more options than we've ever seen...even more than Cheesecake Factory!

So many choices, we wanted to try about 20 different things on our very first visit. Well, that's one way to ensure your clientele will come back again and again. We loved our meal and can't wait to come back and try something else.

The prices are very reasonable, as well. I'd give this place more than 5 stars if it was allowed.

We love the Spinach and Chicken enchiladas! The white dipping sauce for chips is flavorful and mildly spicy warm.

Went there for lunch today had my normal burrito Chipotle And the wife had taco salad The ground beef Which did not taste like ground beef should.. Notice they had new menus and the prices had went up which was not a problem. Until the food came everything was cold did not have any seasoning asked to take mine back they Brought back a new plate which was a smaller portion still had no taste. The menu is not the only thing that has changed here The prices had been raised, Smaller portions, And the quality of the food.. Hoping they are not following in the footsteps of the Tappahannock location And worst of all they didn't even offer to take any off of the Items that we did not eat off of the bill very disappointing. Probably will not visit their location anymore

First time trying Los Portales, I think I found my new favorite restaurant in Gloucester. Food was 10 out of 10. Service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. Large portions so expect to take some home. The prices are good especially when you consider how much you get. For my family of 5 I spent more at other places but did not get near the amount of food or as good of service. I would give more stars if it was possible!

The BEST Mexican in Gloucester! Food has a great flavor! Drinks are great as well I tried the margarita flight and I can truly say it was amazing. Overall 10 out 10. Highly recommend eating at Los Portales you’ll not be disappointed

Being from Texas, we were skeptical about finding good Mexican food this far north. However, this place hit the spot! Food was delicious!!! Seating was separated for distancing & every employee was wearing a mask. We’ll definitely be back.

Wow my first time eating here and it’s definitely 1 of my top 3 Mexican restaurants which are my favs. The food was great + good portion size + drinks are good & a great price. Definitely coming back.

great food, i would reccomend getting more gritty floors, fell down one time after the floor was mopped, could not say if a sign was posted or not just got up and kept going. food tastes authentic and for spice lovers habanero sauce can be made at request.

High quality Mexican restaurant, including terrific attentive service! Drinks, appetizers, entries, all with great staff and ingredients.

We were quite surprised! A well done interior, fast service, and great food sets this "Best Of" restaurant apart from others! The dining room was near capacity when we arrived, but we were seated right away. Our server was on the ball, too, and the great tasting food was served hot from the kitchen!

I went here with a friend for dinner on a Saturday. It was very busy but luckily the wait was not too long. We had the fresh table side guacamole to start and it was good. I also ordered a presidente margarita, and a carne asada, both of which were very good. We ended the meal with churros, which were delicious. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the tight space in between the tables, which was very uncomfortable. But overall an awesome experience!

Great food, great place to eat Authentic Mexican Food, my family and I love the food and a friendly staff, love to eat at this place next time I visit. Kudos to Felipe for being so friendly and happy to talk to us and explaining the menu.

We love Los Portales! This is the first time we have ever been to this one in Gloucester. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch in celebration of my birthday. We both got the Los Portales Salad. It was fabulous. The serving was beyond generous, loaded with lots of shrimp and chicken. Another fabulous dining experience at Los Portales.

The best Mexican restaurant I've been to in a while! the tortilla chips were crisp and warm and the guacamole was so good. Service was lovely and they even brought a free dessert at the end because it was our anniversary. We will be back!
