By far one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. They were freshly baked and moist
The maple bacon is awesome but my favorite ones was the strawberry glazed Nutella and the Oreo’s

I had some donuts, cupcakes, fritters from this place and it's all so amazing, you can get anything from here and it's going to be 5 stars

We also sampled their cakes in 821 Cafe in downtown Richmond.

We called ahead & custom ordered cupcakes with special vegan icing with strawberry filling.

Nice establishment! They have yummy cupcakes and cookies! I bought my dog a treat from here and he loved it too! I’ll be back when I’m in the area🙂🙂😉😉😉

I’ve been looking for my daughters cake for her 1st birthday because she has a food allergy, everybody uses the same ingredients in cake that she’s allergic to, I called the buttermilk bake shop and they made her cake with the exception that she has food allergies so grateful… the cake was beautiful and my daughter toke her first bite and loved it but I loved it more then her lol. Thank you so much

This little bake shop is so cute and so welcoming ! When you first walk in you can immediately smell the fresh baked goods hit your nose ! The staff is absolutely amazing and so friendly and welcoming ,the shop is easy to locate and parking is always available! They have the yummiest cheesecakes ,regular cakes little pies and donut treats ! I absolutely will be coming by here more often than I should lol ! All is so fresh !The last thing I’d like to mention is the absolute best prices here ! You get these items and specialty donuts at great prices ,Can’t beat it !

Went in and asked about cakes, cupcakes, and donuts. My main question was storage and keeping the cakes for my upcoming trip. I was driving to Missouri to surprise my wife for our anniversary. The employees were AWESOME. They told me how to keep the items fresh. I got a Chocolate Ganache(sp?), a dozen cupcakes and donuts. Everything was delicious, my wife loved it all. The advice to freeze the cakes worked perfectly and everything tasted great when I got to MO. They even offered to write something on the cake for me! "Happy Anniversary"

I'll be stopping here for donuts in the future for my coworkers too.

The baked goods were excellent, and the customer service was A+. I won't go anywhere else for baked goodies during my time in VA.
I wish I knew the emoloyees' names to shout them out, but if they see this I'm sure they'll remember. Thank you!

Went here by default. The business I intended to go to was closed. I knew this place was here my wife had talked about it. So since I went out early on a Saturday morning to treat her I came here as a backup. I am so glad I did. The donuts were fresh and delicious. So So good. They had a great variety of flavors. My wife said the raspberry glaze was her favorite. Mine was chocolate glazed. Will definitely be going back to try some other flavors.

Wanted a really cute cake for my birthday this week. I reached out to BMBS the week before and they came through with the best cake ever! I got a funfetti cake with the pink icing. The cake isn’t too sweet so i think it balances well with the icing!! Will always recommend this place (especially their donuts)

I love EVERYTHING about this shop! First of all: thank you for having stickers! It's one of the most important things for me when going to a place, followed by good service and good food. My service was great-- a nice young man helped me pick 3 regular and 1 vegan donut, plus an oatmeal raisin cookie and ALL OF IT WAS DELICIOUS. MY GOD. I NEED MORE. When I return to Petersburg I'll make sure to stop by again.

One of the best bakeries in the 804, hands down. The cookies are simple yet iconic and the same can be said about their donuts, which are made fresh and there's constantly a variety. Not feeling cookies nor donuts? Buttermilk also sells cheesecake bites, cake slices, macarons, wedding cookies, brownies and even snacks for dogs. The Key Lime Pie is tremendous and makes me wish they sold the whole pie and not by the slice!

Fresh, trendy bakery in Old Town Petersburg. I found this place off the positive reviews on here and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered an everything scone and maple bacon donut. The scone was DELICIOUS! The donut was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Calm vibes with the sun coming in in the morning and fresh flowers.

Super cute and clean bake shop with affordable prices. They also sell birthday candles, which is super convenient if you pick up a birthday cake there. Delicious donuts. Quick service.

Went today to get cupcakes and doughnuts for our daughter’s birthday. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We will absolutely be back!

We went this morning for doughnuts and they were phenomenal! They were everything I was hoping for. I’m surprised there is not a line out the door. They were moist and fresh and sweet, with a good bit of variety to be interesting but not so much that it was overwhelming. Pictured: lemon blueberry, chocolate sprinkle, Guinness, strawberry fruity pebble, Boston crème, and a HUGE Apple fritter. I do not have a favorite doughnut, but the lemon blueberry was unexpectedly stand out. They are priced well - $1.50/each for most doughnuts and a tiny bit more for the filled and fritter. The shop also sells cupcakes, cake slices, whole cakes, and cookies, but we did not indulge (this time!)

Where oh where do I begin🧐… My first introduction to the marvelous bakery was the perky & infectious smile coming from behind the counter😝. Everything was soo clean and it smelled like BUTTER😍. All of the glasses were glistening , as though they were just cleaned moments before I arrived 🤩🤩. I was overwhelmed with all the treats & goodies. My sis had given me a list😁😁— I selected an apple fritter (which was the size of your head 😳), a delectable cream cheese cinnamon bun, maple bourbon cinnamon bun, red velvet cupcakes and they even had dog treats! Needless to say, everyone in the house was satisfied!!!! This bake shop is ahhhhhmazing.

Cute and cozy place to get a dessert and enjoy a simple cup of coffee. Prices look high ($3 for a specialty donut), but are extremely good when you consider the quality of what you're getting. Enjoy coming with the family so the little one can pick his own treat for the day. Would encourage them to develop their coffee menu a bit, but for a bake shop they have hit the pinnacle of their craft!!!

I’m so glad someone told me about this place. The donuts are insanely delicious. The maple bacon is by far my favorite and I’ll happily drive from Richmond to Petersburg just to have it. There’s nothing I haven’t loved from this place. They obviously love what they do since it comes through in the food. This place coupled with Demolition Coffee right down the street is my favorite combination for a fast kid Saturday breakfast.

Have been to this bakery multiple times. They also did my wedding cake and cupcakes. This go around we ordered cupcakes for a gender reveal and once again they turned out amazing and all the guests loved them. I highly recommend!
