Shorty's Place

We stopped in to wait out a rain storm, and we had a very enjoyable time. The barkeep was very gracious. One of the things that struck us was the fantastic collection of antique ashtrays (you remember, the kind that weighed 5lbs and took up half of the coffee table) from the middle of last century on up. I am not a smoker anymore, but it sure did bring back memories!

Always love coming to this place. You have a great time, the people are AWESOME. Even my 4yr old granddaughter had fun and they showed her a great time as some danced with her and even made her a flower out of a paper towel which was so cute. So all n all we always have a good time here. And just so you all know, the drink she has is a non alcoholic specially made Shirley Temple by one of the special ladies there. Cuz some people will think crazy. So just clarifying that. 😊

Great location. You're able to park anywhere in the surrounding area and walk up on it from the front, back or sides. Old school heavy pour and reasonable, under 5$ well drinks. The attentiveness if the bartenders is very slow, so you'll wait for that good drink, waving money in your hand. It's not maliciously, however.. It's their lack of staffing for such a busy place. The environment allows for you to go with a group and make it your crew's vibe or go solo and find a corner to enjoy your drink without interaction. Great place!!

Great place for a cold beer and good music!

Had a great time at Shorty's even though it was cold out. Outside service as well as an inside area to play pool, and stay warm. Great area to walk around Punta Gorda see the shops and stop in to have a beer.

Amazing place!!! Kim behind the bar is fantastic!! We stopped for a quick beer...I had the local.fort Myers and a lobster roll and it was AWESOME! will definitely be stopping by again when we're in the area!

Great little bar with some small food items and the staff is absolutely phenomenal. Pool tables in the back room. Outside umbrella style picnic tables. Tiki style bar and 2 inside bars.

Best neighborhood bar in Punta Gorda. Right downtown, comfy and campy, indoor & outdoor seating. Food provided too, but no servers .. the bar staff are very attentive however. Gravel parking still supports motorcycles. Shorty's often provides live music. There is also a (smoky) pool room.

Nice place, good vibe. Outside good music. Inside smoking with poor AC. No food at night, although a functional kitchen for lunch.

Love this place. Easy to bond with the bartenders. Shorty even brought in the beer we love...just for us! Great menu during the day Mon-Fri...tons of live music and karaoke. Love this bar. So dog friendly! Love our happy hours at Shortys!

Sorry. It was so good, I forgot to take pictures. Shorty is from New England, so he has a good Lobster Roll and New England Clam Chowder. They a fresh every Saturday. My first time there on a Saturday, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff is nice and fast. I met Shorty, he is short 😉, and he is a cool dude.

Always a great time at Shorty’s. Thursday are our favorite and sometimes Friday. Karaoke nights and you never know what you’re going to hear. One night someone did Andrea Boccelli and I was impressed. The ladies behind the bar are amazing trying to keep up with the crowd. I recommend leaving by 9-10. It gets crowded and can be tough to even get to the bathroom or the bar to order a drink.
