JoJack's Espresso Bar & Cafe

A local secret with excellent food and staff. The biggest drawback is that people are starting to find out about it. Great menu with something for everybody and updated items on a regular basis. They have a drive up window too! Wonderful place to dine in or pick something up to go. Definitely worth a visit and a repeat!

I tried their mushroom, spinach book over grits with avocado, and a poached egg with a scone. Was craving something different , and they definitely delivered. Everything was absolutely delicious if you're a fan of the ingredients, which are my favorites. Hidden gem worth trying!
Update 3/19/2024 Absolutely mouth watering for a person that loves veggie Omelets and Brie, very authentic touch , with a warm soul food feeling. Philly with Brie is absolutely amazing as well!! 11 months later , it still never ceases to amaze! If you like to try different things with a twist of greatness, definitely check them out!

Loved this coffee & juice bar. Breakfast is excellent - Eggs Benedict- perfect poached eggs & Prosciutto on ciabatta bread; bistro steak, brie & basil omelet; hot green tea; latte & Chai. Will return often. Can't wait to try lunch!

I am so happy I stopped here for lunch. They serve breakfast all day. I started out with an Irishman in Paris, Look my latte is even happy! I ordered the Jojack omlette special made with butternut squash and home fried potatoes with real grated parm. So good I ate it all! Happy baristas happy cooks, busy little place. A little bit pricier, but I wouldn't make this at home, spoil me, I did. $20+

I recently discovered an awesome diner in my neighborhood. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is warm and inviting.

I've been there a few times now, and I've never been disappointed. The service is also top-notch. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they always go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience.

The ambiance is another thing I love about this restaurant. It's small and cozy, with a warm and inviting feel. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with friends or family.

I highly recommend JoJacks to anyone looking for a great dining experience. It's a hidden gem that deserves more recognition!

First time here. The coffee was so incredible, and had a cute little bear made in the foam on top 🥰 My hubby and I have been going out and trying different locally owned coffee shops & this is our favorite for sure! The food was also 10/10! Staff was very friendly, we also met one of the owners, Renae and she was so kind. Definitely highly recommended!! We will be back soon!

I have yet had the opportunity to eat here.
The two times I've been here have been after hours.
One thing that I can speak about is, after while working on a refrigeration system, I observed that all the perishables inside the refrigerator have handwritten dates on them.
I am very impressed by this attention to detail.
In the 10 years that I've been in business I have yet to see this in any other facility.
This tells me that they are very conscious of what they serve.
I do look forward to eating here and I will give you an update on the food.

I finally had an opportunity to try their cuisine.
While expensive the food is prepared why are you wait ensuring that it is hot and fresh.
So give them a try. You'll be quite surprised at the unique and quite flavorful cuisine they will prepare for you.
I recommend not changing anything when it comes to that meal being prepared but accepting it as is.

I echo other reviewers' comments in saying WOW! How did I miss this place for so long?! My husband and I have been frequent visitors for breakfast for a few months now, and we have a lovely experience each time, from the fresh and delicious food (seriously, not ONCE have we had a single dish we didn't like) to the wonderful and friendly staff. JoJack's is definitely a hidden gem in our area, and we look forward to future visits and trying new menu items whenever we can!

As far as recommendations, we were blown away by the Italian Sausage and Herb savory pancakes with sausage gravy -- absolutely incredible!! My husband is a big fan of the Shrimp and Grits bowl, and my step-daughter is all about some pancakes and breakfast sammies! The giant gooey cinnamon rolls are amazing, and their hand crafted coffees hit the mark every time ( my favorite is the Black Forest latte). And not for nothing, the portion sizes in general are very generous as well.

The food was incredible, aristato salad and caprese shown. The coffee and tea were made perfectly. I will be coming back for the food. But I will be telling people to come enjoy the service! I'm terrible at names but the young lady who took our order was so patient with our indecisiveness and she provided thorough recommendations, refilled our drinks with speed and always had a smile. The entire atmosphere was so welcoming 11/10 would recommend. Service is hard you're doing a great job!

Recommended by a friend, decided to have a quick lunch with the hubs. Small cozy restaurant with about 10 or so tables. Kind of threw us off at first because we didn't know that you had to order at the cash register and the waitress would bring your food to your table. So, we sat at the table waiting for a waressd to come. After 5 minutes of no one coming, we finally caught on. Ordered the Butterfly madness drink which is butterfly pea tea, lemonade, cherry, coconut, and strawberry. It was delicious! Hubs had a caramel coffee which had a nice taste as well. The Chipotle burger is probably one of the best burgers I have tasted in awhile. The chipotle sauce alongv with the garlic mayo. OMG! SO SO GOOD. It was definitely worth the 20 minute drive. I plan on revisiting soon for the pancakes. I heard they're good as well. Hubs hadcthe chicjen panini. It was good but it didnt top the burger.

My wife and I tried JoJacks as a last minute idea and boy are we glad we did! The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The food and coffee were SO good! Very down to earth place; Very affordable and big portion sizes! My wife and I LOVED IT!

Do not let the location or exterior fool you, as it did me. After working down the street and passing JoJack's for the last 6 years, my manager brought me to this place today. Wow! The moment I walked through the door, I knew I had "judged a book by it's cover." Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and amazing food! Seriously...how did I not know about this place until today?! I can't wait to take my wife here soon. Only if Triple D knew about this place.

The food is delicious, have yet to taste anything that I haven't liked. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I like that they have dine-in/carry-out and a drive through. It's a great local family owned place.

This little coffe shop is a hidden gem in Portsmouth.
I love coming here. The Bee Sting is my favorite coffee! It's a little spicy and so yummy.
All the menu items are wonderful. There is a huge amount of options....soup, sandwiches, breakfast foods...you name it. The customer is given a number when ordering at the counter. Food is delivered to the table hot and fresh by a friendly and courteous wait staff.
The space is slightly small, but there is usually a table available right away. There is a few spots for outside seating.
There is ample parking.

Family and I enjoy coming here. The food is always consistent, and the service as well. Their coffees are very good too. I usually get their spinach and mushroom bowl, but I have tried their pancakes and their cinnamon roll is amazing.

Food was amazing! My wife, kids(2) and i met our neighbors there for breakfast on Sunday. The menu is super impressive! I ordered the steak and eggs and my wife and oldest son ordered the country breakfast. My youngest got the french toast. It was all soooo flavorful and delicious. The coffee is off the chain also!! The staff was very helpful. A special thanks to Jackson for making sure we had everything we needed!
Also, they have a little area off to the rear of the dining area that has some toys for the younger kids to stay occupied with. My 3 year old loved it!!

We tried JoJack’s for the first time today wanting to step outside of our normal breakfast routine and I am forever grateful that we did!! This was THE BEST breakfast I have ever eaten outside of home cooking. We ordered the breakfast platter with sausage, the county bacon bowl, and the kids pack cakes with chocolate chips. Everything and I mean literally EVERYTHING was delicious!! To top it off we ordered this through te drive through and had our food out in minutes. We will definitely be back!!

Best little spot in Portsmouth. Amazing food, amazing customer service. I've tried a lot of the menu and it's a hit EVERY time. In my opinion the pancakes are the best around. So flavorful. The Monte Cristo is amazing. And for the lunch "The Rachel" is fantastic. But then again everything on the menu is honestly great.

UPDATE: ***** Alright! My trip back to JoJack's was sooner than I thought 1/20/2022. I went in on an early lunch break and the breakfast. Those pancakes were perfectly crispy like my grandma used to make them in her skillet. I finally got the potato cakes and they were great with ketchup. They taste like they may have onion in them which is perfect. I'm not sure if I mentioned in my last review but the pan fried potatoes should have green pepper and onion in them too! I also had chicken sausage with that breakfast and it was great as well. I like that they have that no pork option. Most business have Turkey but I'm a-okay with the chicken. Lately I ordered my breakfast with a coconut sunrise drink. I could tell it was fresh! Glad I gave this spot another chance. I'll be back again for breakfast!

1/15/2022 - I think I just ordered the wrong thing or it would be 4 (or maybe even 5) stars... I've heard many people rave about this little place! I went on a Saturday afternoon. My coworkers all loved their food. I was a little disappointed in my half Turkey sandwich. Bread was very dry, the Turkey was regular deli Turkey. I know you might be like okay, what’s the problem? Lol I expected (which could be my own fault) shaved/carved Turkey. I wanted soup as it was a cold day but they didn't have soup so I opted for the half Caesar salad. It was alright. I've also heard great things about the breakfast potatoes so I ordered them.. ehh.. for the ratings I've heard I'd think there were at least onions if not green peppers and onions. A coworker got the potato cake which looked good so I will return but I will get an entirely different menu item. Breakfast will be first on my list, the cafe drinks then the burger and even the crab cake sandwich. Service: 4 stars.

Really enjoyed my visit. This was a recommendation from a friend that frequently stops in. My favorite part was the great atmosphere.
