High Bridge Trail State Park, Camp Paradise Entrance

Great place for a bike ride, horse ride or a walk. Main trail may be a bit boring by foot as it is mostly a straight line but the view from the high bridge is spectacular! There are also multiple side trails if you want to get out of the main trail

One of my favorite parks. Not a difficult hike. Lots of history. Visitor center is almost ready. You can walk under the bridge on the east end. That part is more challenging. Cool to see. Great for beginner runners.

Beautiful long safe trail, great for kids to go hiking very easy. Even seen a person being pushed in a wheelchair. The view of the bridge is stunning. I let my kids run on the bridge it looks very safe. Just don’t let kids climb. Park rangers were viable, clean, and easy to follow trails.

What a beautiful place to hike, bike, stroll, or walk at your pace! Dog friendly, just bring plenty of water ( we ran out twice) and clean up after them. Will bring a small picnic lunch next time to enjoy on the bridge. I’m sure the new visitor center will be great! Can’t wait to go back!! ❤

Great place to walk, bike or picnic. I’m fortunate to live nearby & LoVe the sunsets. The entrance road was just paved at the Camp Paradise location, where I took these pix.

Great place to walk. Starting your walk here you will be close to the bridge when you start. Do some of the Spur trail too. Lot of leaves when I walked. Just be aware of when you go.

Brand new parking lot and visitors center going in. The bridge is just a short walk away, and views are beautiful!

If you are looking for an easy walk outdoors this is the trail for you. It is a breath of fresh air and great views. The trail is well maintain. It cost does cost five dollars to park and I would pay. I did see a ranger driving around and picking up the money from the boxes. If I do come back to trial I will be bringing my bike. Great place to pass the time.

This place is amazing. Beautiful! Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time to spend here but we spent 3 to 4 hours and had a wonderful time. We managed to walk some of the bridge and enjoyed some wild life on the trails. Everyone around was very pleasant (there was a Virginia State Park Representative on site when we arrived). Beautiful scenery.

I parked here to bike to the bridge and to Farmville. Plenty of parking. There were only a few cars when I went on a Thursday afternoon in June. Maps are available and restrooms as well. The bridge is just under a half mile from the lot. The drive in is a bit rough but doable, even for my Yaris. As I was leaving, I spotted picnic tables and some slides for the kiddos in the center of the parking loop. Definitely a beautiful area, great for walking, running, and biking. I feel like biking is the best option for this trail because of how straight it is, but that's just my preference.

Easily accessible. Went right before sunset. The park ranger is on time closing up so be out before dark. Beautiful views

We picked up a brochure on the High Bridge Trail and thought we'd check it out. Wow! This place is amazing. The view is beautiful! A must for everyone traveling through the area!

This hike will take up your whole day, and it is worth it. Its really beautiful. I rode by bike here so it took it less time but, great hike with family and friends. You can even have nice picnic date.

Really great place to ride or walk. The actual bridge is stunning and well worth getting there. You can easily park and get right to the main event, just a mile, if you want. Accessible bathrooms, a nice white gravel path, and plenty of mile markers made for a nice afternoon bike ride.

Camp Paradise is a great access point to the High Bridge Trail. It's the closest to the actual bridge, great for those that want to have the experience but need a more accessible route. For the more adventurous visitors, I would highly recommend taking the Camp Paradise trail loop. It is a gravel path, and a little steep in some places, but it's not too intense. It goes down beneath the bridge and right to the edge of the river, so the views are great.

Beautiful and very clean trail with multiple smaller off-shoots branching off of the main one. The High Bridge, of this rail trail's namesake offers a beautiful view of the surrounding counties and the Appomattox River running underneath and the trail runs through Farmville too!

Awesome. Great trail for hiking and cycling. Very clean, excellently signposted. The bridge itself is a WOW!

This is a cool park and worth the short hike to the bridge for some spectacular views. If you want to see the best part of the park you need to hike under the bridge. There is access to the river and a fantastic look at the bridge’s impressive support structure.
