I went here once with a recommendation and I got HOOKED. I constantly think about the food and the quaint charming location. The staff is always friendly, chatting you up and making you feel welcomed to the area! I return again and again and highly recommend taking a walk around main street afterwards.

Had the seafood combo, and family had the penne vodka chicken and fried shrimp/oyster platter. All top notch!! The vodka sauce was spot on. The owner brought out a container, maybe thinking we couldn't finish, but there was no chance of that happening! Service really friendly and lovely environment.

Truly one of the best meals, combined with exceptional service, in a comfortable atmosphere. I personally enjoy a late breakfast, or early lunch, often making it a date with my mom. The fish and chips at lunch is absolutely delicious. All their dishes are amazing though, so you will soon find your favorite as we did, or go down the menu and try each option! The fish, often local, and seasonal is usually flounder or rockfish. A hearty portion, served with hand-cut fries, and homemade cole slaw is standard, but if you're nice they will sub out the fries for one of their other delicious sides. Tea and beverage refills flow regularly, and always with a smile. #gogetyousome

We were very impressed!!! We ordered appetizer sampler and the Olivia special. The food tasted outstanding and was cooked perfect. The owner (Gary) came to our table introduced himself and talked for a bit. Made us feel like our business was important. Very well run restaurant and we will definitely be back.

Make sure to start with a bowl of Olivia’s homemade seafood chowder (when available); fantastic! Everything is tasty, but I’m not going to say anything more to make sure you have a bowl of seafood chowder. It’s the reason I drive from Williamsburg! So I call ahead to find out what day they’ll have it next. Enjoy!

I just had a great experience this morning eating here. I ordered the Chesapeake omelette and my husband had the eggs San Benedict.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and very nice service personnel, very clean too.
I definitely will come back with the rest of my family.

After traveling all day, we started looking for a place for dinner before getting to our vacation rental. We stumbled across Olivia’s on a busy night and we were delighted when they accommodated us despite not having a reservation. Little did we know that we were in for an amazing dinner. We both ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with salads and unsweetened tea. The first thing I noticed when they brought the salads was that the dressing was homemade. They also brought us homemade yeast garlic and cheese knots. Then the main course came out and it was by far the best chicken parmigiana I’ve ever had. The sauce was incredibly fresh (it was like eating sunshine), the noodles tasted homemade, and the chicken with the cheese (including ricotta) was incredible. Everything we saw them being out to neighboring tables looked good! In addition to excellent food, we were super impressed with the friendliness of the wait staff and the attentiveness of the owner. The owner clearly cares about his customers. If you are traveling in the area, you should definitely stop at Olivia’s. We highly recommend it!

The staff was five star the food was five star. The one fault I can find with this restaurant is the oysters were fabulous and they're in Virginia and I'm in Michigan. The chef was super impressive I asked for vegetable medley instead of rice and he did a spectacular job. I have a new way of fixing my food now. I wish I could have brought the chef home with me.I was very surprised and impressed.

I stopped in for a late lunch. The atmospheric is very warm. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. I had shrimp and crab meat with spinach and cheese casserole. I also got a crab cake sandwich to go, even reheated it was a 10. Don’t miss this gem!!!

Second time visiting, and this place continues to exceed expectations for hospitality and deliciousness.

Seafood chowder was recommended by the hostess as one of theie signature dishes, and after having it I can see why. Not just clams here: we had shrimps and all kinds of goodness.

The prime rib was amazing. Owner came by and chatted us up. Said that, despite the really long cook times, they start with a higher grade of meat, so if it tasted a cut above, as it was, that was the reason.

Not pictured is the brownstone cab I paired with my meal. When I asked if they had a drinks menu, our server said "beer and wine" so I asked "for a cab" and that's what I got. Loved the informality of that exchange!

Hospitality in this place is something special. If you find yourself in town, stop by!

I saw Olivia's when we drove down main street. There were quite a few people dining. On the way back, we decided to eat here. Our waitress was amazing. So friendly and told us everything was made from scratch. I wish I had asked her name. I had a chicken breast alfredo with ham, cheese, with an amazing cream sauce and pasta. My friend had a stuffed salmon with a delicious rice pilaf. We also tried the clam chowder. A delicious flavor with plenty of seafood in it. Also, we were served rolls with parmesan. They were warm and delicious. The dessert was incredible. The owner, Gary Ward, checked on our meal and the service. He was such a delightful man to talk to. He told us about the history of the restaurant, answered our questions about the area and gracious. If we go back to Gloucester, VA, we will head to Olivia's.

Excellent tomato bisque soup. Very generous portions of salads. Throw a dart on the breakfast menu and you won't be disappointed on the dart's pick. Excellent place to eat while in Gloucester.

Great food and wine. The only reason why I gave 4 stars on service is because of how busy it was and we were sat in a corner where we were easily forgettable but it honestly isn't their fault since there were so many customers in the restaurant. Will go again.

This is one of my family's favorite places to eat. My wife always gets the Penne Vodka pasta. I like to mix it up. The seafood is always great and the breakfast is great too. I'd recommend Olivia's to anyone. A casual lunch or a special dinner, you won't be disappointed.

The wait staff were wonderful and the layout is spacious. My 1 year old son was able to walk around without getting in the way of guests or staff.
