I believed the place was very clean, paid attention to our grandfather's meds and our family still mourns his passing but when hospitals can't get to their stations, a place worn down. Never saw any bugs. He said the food was another. Buffet style.

I have been really impressed with the help my son has received here, especially with Dr. Haroon and his social worker Pearl. She has kept me informed without compromising his privacy. This, I hope, can be a turning point in his life. God bless all involved.

I was actually put here against my will when I actually wanted to be a walk-In to another facility but everything happens for a reason! I want to give thanks to theè people that were there and always reached out to me to make sure I was okay! Nurse Kadie and Michael! One thing I would say would be theè only thing wrong with theè facility, would be theè air conditioning! It stinks really bad!

The most inhumane type of hospitality and mental hospital.
People have wrote to the board of medicine, complaining about the inhumane, grave violation of rights.
Forcing medication without court consent, which is a mandatory law before someone can be subjected to medication. You name it all.
These folks along with Fairfax, Loudoun. CSB don’t have any morals at all, in terms of respecting other patients choice.

This is the worst place you can be, all of yours rights are violated, staff are the mental they treat you the worst they can they are no there to help you but to make anything you are gonna through worst, please don’t bring your loved ones thinking you will help them here because you won’t! Also the medicine they give got me sick for like a month they should really check that I was vomiting every day after telling them I was there against my will and that I didn’t need it they still did forcedly, the gov’t should shut this place down.

Definitely would not recommend working here. It's a toxic place to work!!! I worked here as a Psychiatric Technician for 10 months and recently had to quit due to continuous bullying and retaliation from one particular charge nurse. Of course other factors played a part as well, such as the abuse of power some of the nurses use towards techs and other nurses. The extreme favoritism and lack of equality from charge nurses/management to staff that allows for certain staff members to get away with certain unethical things. The staff here are highly aware of what goes on but choose to keep quiet and talk amongst themselves due to fears they may lose their jobs. Many of them are also there just for the retirement plan or suffering through it until they find something better. Additionally, the lack of response from higher management when concerns are expressed is mind blowing. I literally had a nurse unit manager state "my concerns are TOO long to read." I guess that's why things will never be addressed for those that choose to speak up. Anyways, when thinking about working here, proceed with caution. I wish I would have read these reviews before affiliating myself with this employer. The reviews are all true, be careful bringing your loved ones here is all I have to say. This place truly creates a hostile work environment partly because of staff and management.

P.S. The condition of the facility should raise some serious health concerns. The air conditioner does smell horrible. The vents look like they have not been cleaned since the place opened. The light fixtures are on its last leg ready to fall on someone. The mold that grows here is very concerning. Truly, I feel this place needs to be shut down or new management and staff needs to be hire. But please, if the employer is reading this, don't just hire people to have bodies on the units because the facility is always short staffed but hire people that actually have a passion for the field of Mental Health. Also, this employer needs to start looking into why they are always short staffed and resulting to mandating over worked staff members to stay because frankly, the low retention rate is bit problematic.

If i could rate zero stars I would. I was brought here August 2021 my stay was for 30 days. It was bearable until 1 week before I left, in the morning, I was approached my a tech who asked if i had been taking showers. I said not yet and I went to go take a shower. She unlocked the door of the bathroom while I was naked taking a shower and I shouted what are you doing and she said "You don't know how to take a shower right" I threw all the rags I was using at her and she left. I felt beyond violated. She was an 5'7 african woman she had a black curly wig dark blue scrubs. She needs to be fired.

This hospital is one of the worst places our love once can be hospitalized.

My son was there for almost 6 months and each time I will go see him there was always something going on.

The nurse’s don’t care about them, they let patients fight each other and just started at the and asked each other “who you think is going to win” I witnessed this fact.....

Another day I took some snacks for my son and a MAIN nurse was telling my son which candies he was going to keep for himself, I asked why he was taking my son's candy he replied I-was just joking but he had them in his pocket, that got me upset and asked to return them..... he just laughed.

A lot happened and I’m hoping that my son won’t go back to this miserable place

HIM Dept is in need of new management, badly.
If you're looking for a peaceful office to work in stay clear of this office. Its a 3 ring circus right now and full of negative energy due to a staff who was never qualified to be there. May God protect us all from having to go through what I did..
A nightmare!!!

The things expressed here are true. DO NOT bring your loved ones here!!! If you were ever a patient at NVMHI and you were mistreated, if you worked there and you were mistreated by staff which played as a hostile work environment, I suggest you get a lawyer because everything that happens at NVMHI is not a ok and it is against human rights.

This place is HORRIBLE. never recommend going here for help. Staff are abusive mentally and physically. Place is really unsanitary, like I mean black mold in the showers unsanitary. Food has no flavor/ care/ love/ or taste. None of the staff cares enough to help you. Doctors lie to you and give you the wrong meds. Unless you like all that stuff NEVER GO HERE.

The place is a joke. They don’t really help much. Abusive to the patients and the few good staff they have. Most of the doctors are Narcissistic. So you can only imagine what happens when you try to have an opinion or stick up for your self. Smh keep your family out of that place. Trust me I know. I was held there for over 5 year on an NGRI charge with out a mental illness. Forced to take medications I didn’t need. Lied on by the doctors. Fabricating thing a didn’t say so they could send me to Petersburg maximum-security mental hospital. Evil satanic, MK ultra tactics with a smile to cover up cruel intentions. Experimental Trial and error medications the will probably drop your white blood count one day.
