A great local place with a creative menu and great food. The menu changes constantly. I had the fried oysters and the burger. Both excellent. The oysters were some of the best I have had. The burger was not over cooked. Enjoyed the kimchi sauce with the burger. My wife had the chowder as a starter. Came with 3 nice scallops on top. Then she had the steak and seafood both were well prepared. We finished with the berry cake. Super full but a great dinner.

Small, intimate restaurant. Amazing, imaginative food. A lot of it is locally sourced. It is on the expensive side, but the quality and the artistry make it completely worth the price. Can't believe such a great place is in such a small town! We had the rockfish, the diver sea scallops and the lobster escargot style. Everything was fantastic including the service and the live piano music!

Absolutely incredible food. We ate here for brunch and also for dinner on a recent stay in Gloucester. The staff is incredibly welcoming, the chef is a genius, and the atmosphere was perfect for an upscale meal while also being the right vibe for our 11 month old (an incredibly tough balance to strike!). I was blown away by the scallop entree and my husband could not get over how perfect the flounder with crab was. We will definitely be back.

Thank you, Helen, for introducing me to this Gloucester Gem! The Farmasea Restaurant is housed in a former local drug store. The decor includes winks to the former pharmacy (get the name play there) and photographs of the old soda counter too!
The dock-to-dish menu is locally sourced, and oh My goodness, it is delicious! The steak knocked my boots off (and this Texas girl is a harsh critic when it comes to my meat)! It all went down so well with their crafty cocktails!
I think I just fell in love with Gloucester!

Wonderful restaurant! The Bang Bang shrimp small plate was delicious, as were the Salmon entree and the flounder entree. Also the Berry Cake is superb. They serve huge portions so you're really getting a bang for your buck. Ambience and service were also excellent. Definitely recommend.

These guys just started and there's something special going on here. We came for our 40th anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. Service was fast, efficient, and courteous. The special scallops were off the chart good and the chowder they came in was sublime. We both enjoyed my sweet potatoes, the steak and brussel sprouts were fine, the pimento spread and Virginia ham hit the spot and we had a great time. If anything there was too much food and we had to box up.

Edit a few days later: The only thing I would tell the chef is to half the sprouts and add/reduce something to pull their roasted flavor down a tad...they can overwhelm the other items on the plate.

Hidden Gem of Gloucester. The environment, service, and food are to "dine for!" If this establishment was moved to any major city in the US, tables you'd be out of reach. Great establishment all around.

Very nice atmosphere! There is a piano player in the main dining room playing nice dinner tunes. We started out with the Apple & Pecan salad and the Butternut Squash salad. Both were very good. We followed with the Scallops over homemade pasta and vegetables along with the Puppy Drum over oyster polenta. Both were very unique and upscale for this area and tasted very good. The drink menu has some good selections that we took advantage of. We finished off with the lemon cheescake and chocolate pumpkin cheesecake... both yum delish! The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The pricing is upscale for the area but worth it to have another nice restaurant in Gloucester. We will definitely be back!

OMG!!! Talk about a fantastic experience. From the second we walked into the door to the moment that we left, we had the best time. The food was excellent the staff was friendly. There wasn't one part of that experience, especially for a Christmas Eve brunch. Where you would almost expect something to go wrong or that there would be a hiccup because of the holiday. Our server was awesome And our food was almost magical. Thank you so much to the staff and crew. You made our holiday twice as great.

We can't get enough of this place! Everyone who works here is five stars. We totally love Chris, completely enjoyed Amber our waitress tonight, and there is NO other talent or heart like Chef Will. His food is incredible, every time. Fresh, local, unbelievable flavors and impeccable ambiance. The piano player at dinner really sets the mood. We are so lucky to have a place like this right here in Gloucester!!!

We were greeted by a friendly hostess that showed us right to our table. The live piano music offered a wide variety of music and created a serene environment. The service was a little slow, but that is expected at a new restaurant. The owner/manager was lovely and stepped up to help out. I ordered the Blackened Swordfish which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Ribeye and as a (self-proclaimed) ribeye “specialist” said it was fabulous. We try at least one new restaurant a month, and this one is likely to become part of our regulars.

Oh my goodness- we just finished brunch! Absolutely AMAZING! Everything homemade from the Bloody Mary mix to the pickles. I had the homemade pimento cheese plate with local Padows ham, homemade toasted bread slices with a local spring salad! An appetizer enough for a table of 4! My husband had the chorizo scrambled eggs- with 1/2 of an avocado, sour cream & fresh tomatoes!
The atmosphere and music are wonderful in the back at the bar- beautiful deck outside. The bartender is so attentive and so proud of this restaurant! Chef has received accolades for his work.

Me and my husband decided to try out Farmasea as he is headed out of town for a bit. This place is so quaint and the food was amazing. You will definitely not leave hungry. The prices are definitely worth the flavor, preparation, and love put into every bite. We started with the cheese plate with grilled bread, ham, house made pimento cheese, and house Buffalo hot sauce. For a starter it could have satisfied a table of four. I had the NY strip with Shrimp, truffle fries and herb seasoned green beans. Hubs had the Entrana which was flank steak with broccolini and polenta fries. The staff is fabulous and very attentive. The cocktails were yummy and the beer was cold. Definitely recommend this as a must eat place.

What a wonderful find....I travel the world for work and can honestly say this was the best meal and service (thanks Raven) in years !! Great oysters, shockingly good smokey pork belly, perfect jambalaya small dishes...the first tile fish I've ever had and it was delicious. Dessert (we made room somehow) did not disappoint either NC lemon pie with the butteriest crust ever and berry cake moist as can be...I write this with mixed feeling because I want this wonderful restaurant to be around forever but I still want to be able to get reservations every week.

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was great. We were nervous because we were being our 3 kids with us(oldest is 8) and the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Probably the best restaurant in the area for a romantic, low-stress, classy but non-pretentious meal. Most people there were dressed very casually, but the atmosphere was a little upscale. Don't pass it by because you think you're not dressed for it - you'll be fine!

We stopped in after a day at the State Park for a nice light snack - an appetizer and a couple of desserts with a glass of wine. We had the 'escargo style lobster' - The most wonderful little creations. Chunks of lobster meat in butter topped by a very thin, light crust and real parmesan baked to perfection, then sprinkled with some sprouts for color.

The desserts were a flourless chocolate torte - very dark and rich, but not overpoweringly rich. The lemon pie (I forget the name) was light, tart, and delicious. They were served with real homemade whipped cream and an edible flower garnish. The Pinot Grigot wine was a really nice pairing, just slightly sweet and nicely tart (not dry).

Quiet music was replaced soon after we entered by a skilled lady playing the piano live. This induced people to keep their voices down, which just added to the incredibly pleasant atmosphere and romantic feel of the place.

Being farm-to-table and definitely fancy with properly fresh and complex dishes, it's definitely on the pricier side. Well worth it!

We will be back for a proper dinner and date night!

My girlfriend & I had been talking about a place to go for girls night out. I had heard somewhere, don't remember where, that this place was good. So we went and they weren't wrong! Not at all.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The food was out of this world, I had the seared scallops and can highly recommend them, my friend had the chicken & waffles and they were good as well.
The bartender, Kris was so charming and kind, we had a great time talking with as we sat at the bar, we didn't have reservations and I'm glad for it.
Next time, we'll bring the guys for Sunday brunch! 5* everything✨
