Lafayette Park

Very kid friendly, I like that there are different playgrounds for kids of different ages, so that the older kids don’t overwhelm the younger ones! My 1.5 yo had a blast.

Beautiful old trees, dating back at least 80 years. Expansive, peaceful, lots of activities: playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, plenty of open grassy areas to throw a ball in, and new fitness equipment for older kids and adults. Bathrooms available but only in warm weather. That's a disappointment. Kids still play in colder weather, as do grownups play football. But next to the zoo, which is nice.

Great park! Lots of areas for kids to play as well as adults and really close to the zoo.

Nice place. Right next to the zoo. Get there early enough can go to the zoo than park to end the day.lots of space to play football or soccer have a picnic if you wanted. Yoga classes on certain days.

Lots of fun! Disc golf course! Excersise obstacle course! Walking trails and kayak launch!

Every year on Arbor Day, they let people choose 1 tree to take home at no cost. I always go!

Last year I found an elderberry; the year before, an Eastern Red Leaf. Beautiful!

Great park. Lots of space and a little something the whole family.

The disc golf course is low-key, but challenging. Decent distance with low ceilings on many holes force you to play well. Love this course.

Shaded parking and play place, the kid I nanny had a great time!! Right next to the zoo so you can hear the animals sometimes which makes it even more fun!

Nice little family park. I did notice all the people playing that Frisbee game had foul language and smoked cigarettes while playing, I think all parks should be smoke free for the children's sake. But besides that, it was nice.

Good park nice walking trails as well

My son loves the obstacle course!! We meet really awesome families there as well. The bathrooms are seasonal. Keep that in mind.

Clean park. Ample parking. Lots of people with kids and dogs.

Nice old park. They've been adding exercise courses. Also a Frisbee golf course. Lots of room and trees 🌳

Nice park right by the Norfolk zoo and close to downtown. The houses close to it are historic looking, it has some historic monuments, a fitness section, and some tennis courts and large fields. The park itself could use a little more maintenance. The grass isn't long and full of ticks or anything but there is enough litter and the tennis court weeds are long enough to make the park seem a little rough around the edges. Over all though, the park feels safe, is quiet enough when you get away from the road, and the people in it are friendly. It's a nice escape for an hour or two.

Clean and green. The park offers plenty of space to picnic or relax. There is a nice playground for the kids. I mainly use the park for its Disc Golf course...which is nicely marked with yardage etc...9 hole, all par 3.
