Charley's Waterfront Cafe

Food was outstanding. Fresh and served hot. The staff was very friendly and seemed happy. Overall a great atmosphere. The soup was definitely homemade and delicious. Onion rings were perfectly crispy, not greasy and not overcooked. My sandwich was piled high with brisket and the meat just melted in my mouth. I wish I lived closer, this would be my regular spot.

Great place and atmosphere with beautiful architecture from a very antique tobacco warehouse. Food was great and the service as well. They have a big selection of wine, beer and cocktails and the hot crab dip amazing.

A surprise date night & knowing he planned it meant everything. This place is great. The food was good, the staff was helpful & friendly & eating over the river was the best.

This is an amazing restaurant. I’m sitting here right now and just got done my hamburger. It tasted absolutely delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. Also, the Server did a fantastic job keeping my drink cup full. Also, they have an amazing vintage Kohler Toilet in the bathroom. If you come by here make sure you use the bathroom. It’s epic. It is also very clean.

Came in after the dinner rush on a Sunday night, and it was a great experience. Service was prompt, the food was delicious and ambiance was great. The building itself is fascinating and very well decorated.

The only thing that felt out of place was the full wallpapering of the bathroom walls in Sports Illustrated magazine covers.

Our table ordered the Patty Melt, the Rueben, the French Dip and couple cups of chili, and everything was great!

Overall I would dine again and would like to try some of the steak options.

Date Night Special was fantastic tonight. Steak, Cobia , 2 salads, appetizer (crab dip is yummy), 2 desserts, great service , great view of the river for $40. Added a bottle of wine for $25 and we were thrilled with a wonderful evening.

OMG, I Just started going to Charlie's waterfront and I'm so glad I have......the food is delicious, the drinks are yummy, I had Miss Paige W as my waitress and she was beyond amazing & I couldn't even begin to imagine being serviced by anybody else 💜💜💜💜💜💜
The food was lovely (kudos to the kitchen and the chef and anyone on the line) and whoever was working the bar at the time making drinks made delicious drinks (kudos to you as well and thank you so much!)
Would love to return for the food and drinks, will definitely be requesting a different waitress though............

Amazing place to eat. Our waitress was incredibly kind, spoke with us at length about the collage we were in town to visit, and gave us some cake on the house. A wonderful, historic atmosphere and good, high quality food. If you're in farmville, this is the place to be!

We started with the crab dip for an appetizer. Large portion and excellent taste. My husband even liked it(he never eats it other places). After we stuffed ourselves with that we then had our main course. Hubby got
Charley's Club sandwich and I got The Greenfront. Too much for us to finish. Plenty left over. Large portions, yummy food, and great service. Our waitress, Sierra, was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered good menu advice. She was cheery and helpful.

We loved the food. Started with the crab dip, comes with lots of bread. (Bread was so warm and very fresh)

Roasted red pepper Crab soup was so yummy 😋

The app was so filling and our entrees were HUGE I got full just looking at the plate 😂

But we got the chicken parm (it comes with pasta) & the shrimp and broccoli Alfredo.
I probably wouldn’t get the broccoli next time, the bigger ones didn’t taste that great, but the rest was good.
Both entrees came with a side salad! We both got Caesar salads, barely had any dressing 😐 but it tasted good.

Deff recommend this place! Especially if you’re from out of town and don’t know where to go. Glad I came here.

We stopped in for lunch while shopping for furniture at Green front and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was awesome at the bar and the food was delicious. The portions were generous and they had a wide assortment of beer on tap. What really impressed me is they have ice cold glasses for the beers. They have a large outdoor deck so I'm nice days you probably have a pretty good view.

Never disappoints! We come about twice a year. Service is always good, food and drinks are great. Crab dip is always our favorite. They were in the midst of decorating for the holidays and it was coming together nicely.

Came here with my husband, parents and grandparents just before Thanksgiving. The Sunday brunch was delicious with lots of breakfast and lunch options loved the egg frittatas and the crab soup. We had the very best waitress, Taylor! She was so personable, relaxed and fun. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We love eating here, and both of us ate salads tonight. One of us had a Cobb Salad, and the other had a Greek Salad with no onions. The menu variety is excellent, and there also are several healthier items from which to choose. The crab dip is very delicious, and the server even brought out fresh cut celery and cucumbers along with the baguettes. The decor and relaxing atmosphere are so enjoyable. It spite of it being St. Patrick's Day, thankfully only a few of the guests seated near us were loud and boisterous. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Wonderful atmosphere. Building was a former tobacco factory in the past. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. The food was great , and went the extra mile for someone in our party who is vegetarian.

We have eaten here several times and have always been satisfied. Beautiful decor in an old remodeled building. Great food and friendly staff.

I thought it was going to be a bad experience because me and my husband sat down and no one came to get our drink order or anything for 15 min… BUT a fantastic waitress named Debbie saved the date night! She came and got us, sat us it her section, and told us about the date night special, check on us frequently, and even gave us hiking and other recommendation while visiting Farmville. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, thanks to Debbie. We would definitely return!!!

We have been coming to Charlie’s for 13 years and tonight we had the absolute best service yet! Debbie is incredible and made our experience so enjoyable! They need more servers like Debbie! 10/10!

Traveling through Farmville for the night and came here to celebrate a special occasion. I ordered the ribs entree and could not believe how much food I got for less than 25$. Salad, half rack of fall off the bone ribs, baked potato, house salad, steamed vegetables, AND slaw. Great service, food, price, atmosphere.
