Very cool ruins with a lot of historical information.

I have to applaud Petersburg residents and leaders for their desire, determination and dedication to preserving a very extensive section of their city. I'm a historian and preservationist focused mainly in the fields of the U.S. Antebellum era, Civil War people, places and things and Post Civil War Reconstruction Era. The abundance of U.S. history, historical figures and historical sites, located in the State of VA is overwhelming and a dreamland for myself, as well as the legions of fellow "history nerds". Petersburg VA leaders and their respective communities that are devoted to preserving our past, while succesfully co-habitating with our present are worthy of the highest praise and I applaud you. Park in a designated spot near the River, tighten your laces and journey back in time!

Just a neat small historic building near Old Street in historic Petersburg Virginia

Where it all began. Every city started with one outpost, or one building, or a small settlement. .. here is nascent Petersburg.

Worth a look around. Spans about half a block. Plenty of other interesting things to see within walking distance. In a relatively safe section of town.

Worth a quick visit, only takes a few minutes. If you’re in the area, you might as well check it out.
