Norfolk Waterside Marriott

Loved everything about our experience and proximity to attractions. There was a lot to visit walking around and exploring and there's a nightlife in this downtown area. Expect to pay about $15-$30 a day/overnight for the parking garages nearby.

Bein part of Marriott's rewards program we were upgraded to one of their suites, wow it was awesome. Also was able to take advantage of their concierge lounge snacks and breakfast. And really appreciated "Sweet" Caroline who took great care of us.

This is a nice hotel, great location and the staff is fantastic. We came for a quick little get away with hubby while he’s here for work and our grandson got sick. We let the front desk know that the bedding needed changing and it was also on the carpet. The front desk and housekeeping acted swiftly. They did have to change our rooms but explained why and they also helped us move our luggage to the new room. Not only were they helpful and accommodating they also made a bag for our grandson of juices and water with a nice message on it for him. To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement. The staff is absolutely amazing. Would stay here again.

Staff was incredible! They accommodated me by getting me into a room earlier and we very helpful in dealing with parking and holding my bag until I could check in. Restaurant had great food and atmosphere. Room was fantastic. Shower pressure was the best I've seen in a hotel.

My husband and I visited this property last weekend and it was magical. It was a much needed getaway and we were WOWED the minute we stepped on the property. I usually complain about having to do valet but Andrew was AMAZING. He was very kind, patient and personable. He had great suggestions and set the tone for our weekend. We checked in and the service was amazing. Our room facing the Elizabeth River was very romantic. We will be back very soon!

My experience at Norfolk Waterside Marriott was great! The staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful. The valet parking was quick and very efficient! Andrew was very welcoming, he took wonderful care of my car and made sure in came in a timely manner. I will definitely be recommending my friends and family to come here and get the five-star treatment! :) <3

March 21, 2024 I attended a company award event at your hotel. When leaving I was confused where to exit and afraid to get lost in the parking garage so late at night. DERMOTT approached me concerned and assisted me all the way to my car. I couldn’t have been more thankful! What a gentleman! I wouldn’t have remembered his name but he handed me a card. Also mentioned on card was Antonio Wood so hopefully I am thanking the correct employee of your hotel. I look forward to my next visit.

Everything was amazing, from the check in to check out. Andrew the valet was more than helpful and polite, and also the staff members with helping me set up with my stay to directions on how to get around. Over all 10 out of 10. Highly recommended for anyone who’s looking to book a hotel room in the area to stay here. Thank you for an amazing experience and you’ll definitely be seeing me again.

Thank you to Marva, Z , and Lydia. I had a minor discrepancy with my room that they resolved quickly and with care. My room at the Marriott was beautiful with a corner room view of the water. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Norfolk!

Probably one of the best valet services I’ve ever used. Nicole turner was very informative and respectful. Made us feel like we were walking into our own home. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Norfolk

They upgraded us because it was Christmas Eve :) can't thank them enough. Great location. Their parking even has a bridge across to the waterfront. Loved the location. Self park option was really helpful

Definitely had a great experience. Andrew was very helpful and professional. Made sure we were comfortable as we were visiting from out of state. When in the area again, would definitely stay here again

We stayed at this hotel before and after our cruise. We were greeted by Caroline at the front desk and she could have not been anymore accommodating. She was so helpful with helping us arrange transportation and making suggestions for the area. Finding genuine customer service is so rare these days she was a ‘breath of fresh air.

Pleasant stay. Staff was friendly and got us checked in quick. Ate at the restaurant attached to hotel, Capo, Capo was excellent. Would recommend.
Room was nice and clean. Floor we stayed on was quiet. Our Marriott rewards got us an upgraded room with a waterside view.
Parking across street. Enclosed walkway at the third floor from garage to hotel. I believe the parking was $13/day.
Walking distance to waterside restaurants and marina.

We usually stay at the Hilton, but this Marriott has put in major renovation efforts into their rooms and it shows. I was able to get a room here for almost half what Hilton wanted, and it was just as good. Sure, the lobby and elevators are older and show some wear, but for the price this is a far better choice. Hotel is still beautiful despite the building's age. Service was great as well. Had our room upgraded without even asking.

Came here recently for an event and had a wonderful time. Even the Valet driver, Andrew, was especially pleasant and helpful. I’ll be back for a nights stay!

This hotel is overall good.
Good:
- Staff is really nice and welcome
- The room is spacious.
- AC works fine in all building
- The Elite members room is available 24/7 with free snacks and coffee.
- Breakfast and dinners are included and free (Elite members card)
- strong water pressure (shower)
- Service animal friendly
- Plenty of common areas to work (multiple floors)
- nice pool
- laundry machines available (👍🏿)

Bad:
- there are 2 lifts but it takes a while before you can pick one
- the sink and the bath gets blocked easily

I had a great stay here. Nicki at the front desk was phenomenal! I look forward to staying here again.
