Friendly staff, great service. Owner came and spoke with us. Looked like they liked their jobs. Very clean. Wide variety of foods on menu. Large portions. We'd definitely be back

Great food and prices. We were met by the owner when we entered and had a small wait time. I watched as the owner greeted each customer and was wiping down the tables to help his staff. Lead by example approach is very hard to find these days. Thank you for the great service and food.

Very cool breakfast and lunch spot! Loved the assortment of options on the menu and the food came quick and was tasty, eventho they were busy. Great service too.

The bayou was especially tasty, loaded with all the extras. You expect this area of US lobster shrimp, and a host of other added topped with a great holiday sauce. Mama’s platter was also very good. Came with options like pancake or French toast, two eggs and you can add fruit instead of hashbrowns for those carb friendly meals. We will be back. Forgot to take pictures till we were halfway through.

I had the Big Daddy's Lions Platter. Just a ton of food. It was all good. My wife had the Steak Platter. It was good and done medium as she asked. This is a nice diner type atmosphere. Even better if you are a Detroit Lions fan! Lots of pix, banners etc. The waitresses are all friendly and pleasant. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant was nearly full but we got seated quickly. Our food order came fast. I drove up from Cape Coral. And I will go back.

It's become one of our favorite after church brunch spots in PG! Our family loves it! Portions are phenomenal and priced just right.

First time here for both us...I got the pot roast omelet with gravy & my wife got the pot roast hash with gravy minus the eggs; she got a side of fruit instead...Our server (Angie) couldn't have been any nicer & prompt while taking care of us...

Last weekend we tried John Ski's House of Breakfast in Punta Gorda. I had the southern chicken benedict and my wife had the meat lovers omelet. The omelet had so much meat in it that it spilled out as you cut into it. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! You will not go hungry here. It was so good we went back again today. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Thank you Wes & John Ski's staff for the amazing breakfast. My husband ordered Scrapple with his Omelet, said it is the BEST scrapple outside of PA. Like the Scrapple grandma would serve in her home (grew up E-Town Pennsylvania). Warm homestyle diner-type atmosphere. NOT greasy food at all, this is fresh & excellent. I had fresh biscuits w/omelet w/mushrooms & swiss cheese, loaded w/steak, no skimpy portions here. Excellent, large portions, great prices, wonderful homey atmosphere. Good prices & lots of options. Not at all disappointed. We plan to make this a monthly date breakfast stop : ) Thank you!!

The food was delicious. For two people I paid $11. I got a crepe and two ham steams with a side of hash browns. The service was excellent too. However the outside isnt wheel chair excessible and I had to carry my grandmas wheelchair up the stairs.

It was fantastic!
Had just got into town and was starving. A quick Google search yielded John Ski's as a viable option, but the catch was they were closing in an hour!
We got there with about 45 mins to eat and there was only one other table so they were in closing mode.
All this being said the waitress came out with a smile and took our order and the food came out quickly and was exactly what I wanted and was absolutely delicious and with a fresh pot of coffee!
Had a great experience!
I highly recommend and will be back!

"Off the beaten path."
We were on the way home (SE Florida) from the Tampa area and we're looking to get some breakfast along the way. We found this place on our Google search and decided to take the 6 additional minutes to go off our travel path in the hopes of having a quality breakfasts experience. Y'all alternative was to go to the Cracker Barrel right next to the interstate and potentially minimize the breakfast delay time to get home.
We took our chances, and we were not disappointed! John Ski's Breakfast & Lunch House is one of throes places that make going there a "destination," and not just a stop. From the moment you go in, you recognize it's the brainchild of someone who takes serving people with quality good food at decent prices, and ensuring fun at the same time, a calling.
I liken the restaurant to one of those places you see on shows like "Food Paradise" or on "Man versus Food." You can see from my pictures, it is fun, energetic, and an overall good vibe. What you can't see is how good the food tasted, the incredible service (the waiter picked up my straw wrapper in between refills- l love when they do that!), and feeling you get when an owner is fully invested into the idea he conceived of creating an excellent fun breakfast and lunch experience.
My wife and I were very pleased with all aspects of our experience. The food was very tasty- I had the Mother Ski's special and Lisa had the Eggs Benedict dish. We shared each other's food and honestly, I couldn't tell which one was better, as both were great. I had plenty of pancakes leftover as the portions they give you were ridiculously huge. The bacon was tasty- crispy and delicious. The eggs were cooked as ordered. The Diet Coke had the right blend of carbonation and syrup.
There is a wall of fame for those that can meet the breakfast challenge. The bathrooms were clean (see pics) and the cooks work really hard to get the food out on time.
We really enjoyed our experience and recommend you take the time to go off I-75 whenever you are in the Punta Gorda area; it is well worth the extra 6 mins to get there!

So the wife had to some blood work for her job for some wellness program and after we decided to eat breakfast. She wanted the traditional chain restaurants and I wanted some place new. We went to John's Ski House and this place did not disappoint at all. Most place try to ration their portions, but not here. Double the amount of biscuits, ham and portions so large, we couldn't finish it all. We both had Momma's Skis breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, choice of side dish, french toast or pancakes, choice of meat and bread. Portions are large and if like hearty food, this place is for you. Very inexpensive, great portions and plenty of variety. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and will be coming back for lunch. If in the area, check them out!!

Always look forward to visiting this establishment every year we go to Florida. Good food and people are always pleasant. Only disappointment was not seeing John at the restaurant the day after the Lions lost to the Cowboys lol. Highly recommend!!

Learned about this gem yesterday. WOW!! Had breakfast there this morning and it was fantastic. We had the crab omelet, crab cake benedict and it was they were the best we've had. Our server, Wes, explained the menu and favorites...definitely didn't dissappoint and we will be back.

I always try to support small businesses. This restaurant doesn't need my help, they are awesome. The food was unique change of pace. The crab infused meals were done right with great flavor. If you are looking for a place to eat, you wont be disappointed. The service was great as well.

This is a great place for breakfast. The staff was warm and welcoming. My glass was never empty long. We ordered the Big Daddy Lion's breakfast, fruity pebbles French toast (you heard me right fruity pebbles!), hamburger patty, and biscuits and gravy. The food was excellent. The ham, kielbasa, and sausage were delicious. I ordered my hash browns well done (I tell waitresses "burn' em)and for once at a restaurant they cooked them right. The French toast was very sweet as you can imagine but needed no syrup. The biscuits and gravy was very good as well. I'm not sure what the spice in the gravy was but it was nice twist (kinda had an old bay spice taste, very very slight but present) on a country favorite. We are here only a few days and we will be going back before we leave. A+++++

Excellent first experience here this morning with my girlfriend. It was a packed house on a Sunday morning, probably competing with the church goers, however, the wait for us didn't last longer than 20 minutes. I didn't feel it had much to offer in the way of "atmosphere," but the food and service was top notch. I had the ham and cheese omelet, and my girlfriend ordered the Mama Ski's breakfast.
My girlfriend, who has her preferences when it comes to food, said, "I think this is the best breakfast spot I've had ever. I normally like the French Toast, but not the sausage patty, or something like that. Every aspect of the meal was great and seemed fresh."

Worth the drive from Fort Myers. Plenty of outside waiting area. The atmosphere is homey. The staff are busy but want to help any way the can. The portions are large. Looking forward to returning. The pancakes were the highlight.

Large portion sizes, good taste, and really friendly staff. And only 7 minutes from the airport, which was, in part, why I chose John Ski’s. And prior reviews helped. The menu is quite expansive and actually made my decision to have the Everything omelet with shredded hash browns and biscuits difficult. I can hardly believe I ate it all and not too sure if I will eat dinner as this was a 11 am breakfast. Because we needed wheelchair access, we drove behind the building and found a zero entry door which is clearly marked. The threshold plate provided a bit of a challenge but we made it in.
After we proceeded to the front entry hostess station, we were quickly greeted and provided a seat. Multiple staff attended to us and we were promptly placing our order. The kitchen was well stocked with staff as well and our food arrived quickly as well.
If I have ANY reservations about coming back, all I can think of is that the prices seemed to jump out as higher tier but in retrospect, one meal could easily be considered two by taking half of it home.
I will visit again the next time I am in the area.
