Sombreros Mexican Cantina

It was one of those nights that I just had to have tacos! On my journey of exploring new places to eat, I ended up at Sombreros via the recommendation of a friend. The location was easy to find as it sits directly on the main strip. The parking lot is huge and has easy in/out access.

As I walked up to the restaurant I could already tell it was a local fav. The ambiance was very chill. It was a nice day so there were people on the patio which added to the draw of the location.

Walking in, there was a sign advising to seat yourself, thus we proceeded to do so. Within minutes of being seated chips and salsa were delivered to the table and seconds later we were greeted by our waitress Kiley. Kiley was very pleasant, all smiles, and a true bundle of excitement. She welcomed us in, took our drink and appetizer order, and gave us some time to review the menu.

Appetizer:
Bean Dip - cheesy, well flavored, huge portion.

The menu has a variety of options to choose from. Though I know I wanted tacos, I am excited to go back to explore some of their other menu options… I decided on the 3 Taco Plate and swapped out my Rice and Beans for the Mexican Salad.

Fish Taco - very flavorful, the fish was moist, and the fixings were fresh. This was a good taco and I will order it again

Buffalo Chicken Taco - this one was my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The taco had pieces of celery which to my surprise paired well with the taco. Not only did it add an additional layer of texture, however, the coolness of the celery paired well with the kick of the Buffalo sauce.

Traditional Beef Taco - flavorful, meaty, and good. Perfect fix of a traditional taco.

Overall, Sombreros was a pleasing experience. The food was good. Kiley provided great service. The restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was upbeat and inviting.

Great food, great prices, fast service, open seating (seat yourself), big menu, I can’t really say anything bad about this place. Authentic Mexican cuisine. I work in the area and people from my office have been coming here for lunch every day for the last 10 years, that’s how you know they are consistently good. We went last week for dinner and it was amazing again so figured I need to leave the review. I got the molcajete, a huge dish with a combination of meats, cheeses, veggies etc. I usually get a combo lunch but this was dinner and I was starving. It hit the spot and I think it’s their most expensive item at $22, which is crazy compared to other places where it can run you close to $40. They brought 3 rounds of chips and salsa at no charge and they have huge soda cups, something I’m particular about (small cups plus bad service means the cups are empty for the whole meal). 10/10 would recommend for lunch or dinner.

In town for the week on a business trip and found this hidden jewel. The Carne Asada tacos and the flan were amazing!! Very friendly staff and management. Definitely trying more menu items before I leave.

Amazing neighborhood Mexican restaurant! Literally one of the best mango margaritas I have ever had! The food is delicious and you can really taste all of the fresh homemade ingredients! The service is a just what you want, very causal and to the point. I can honestly say this is my favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant in and around the perimeter. I have brought friends and family and have celebrated occasions here and have also come in damn near pajamas - it never disappoints. Also, I am a vegetarian and my husband has no dietary restrictions.

Sombrero's is the absolute best. Fantastic food, delicious margarita's, very friendly service, and very affordable prices. My go to spot every Friday night!

I don’t have to go far out of my neighborhood to fine good good and this place has proven that for a fact! Great food, friendly staff, plenty of parking!!!

I’ve been coming to this place for about 5 years and always been good service and food quality. The drinks are always good and very good staff and very friendly. Even the owner is very nice and professional while having real conversations with her customers getting to know them on name basis. This is my go to spot for anything and I always been treated well and always have fun. Definitely check this place out.

Service was first class. Servers were prompt, friendly and helpful. Food came our quickly. The chips were crispy, hot and delicious especially with the salsa! The meal was excellent. The ingredients tasted were so fresh. Don't let the exterior of the place scare you off. It's a strip mall but this place is a little gem.

Very fun place. Neighborhood vibe. Everyone is Friendly's and there for a good time. Prices are on point. The food is very good. Great drinks, all of the bartenders are great. Newly renovated bar. Jesus is a good time.

I have not met a more pleasant person in my entire life. Celine waited on us at the bar with food and special drinks that seasoned bar tenders can’t make. We absolutely loved her and her Clase Azul reposado margaritas were on point. Food was absolutely delicious but more importantly this woman had great aura and was an absolute amazing to speak with. Young college girl who will absolutely have no problem conquering her dreams. We love you girl keep up the great work.

Annually I visit this spot for Cinco de Mayo. Today was ablittl different as me and a friend went early at 2pm. The atmosphere was cool and calm so we were able to catch up on a lot of things, eat Salsa and Chips, and enjoy a well prepared meal that was hot and tasty. Around 4pm, we noticed the atmosphere start to change so we began ordering Margaritas...absolutely delicious.
Our server was the best, not overbearing, but very attentive. Even though he was very busy, we still felt like we were his only customers.
If you are looking for an authentic Mexican cantina, this is definitely a spot you should check out.

I really like the food.... service was okay at best... Story time- older couple in there eating ....one of them drop their cane on the floor, the waitress and one other employee walked over that cane ....full on intentionally stepped over the cane..... three times and did not pick it up for them, I walked over and picked up the cane. I asked the gentleman if the cane was his or his "daughters" they were tickled pink..... Small acts of kindness will go further than you understand. And now you get a review about the service instead of the great food.

23 July 2022 In short - the food here is excellent! I really liked the "chunky guacamole". I asked our server for a side of guacamole to have with our chips and salsa. She asked "smooth or chunky?". Never been asked that question before for a side of guac. Figured I'd try chunky. Glad I did! Chunks of avocado 🥑and tomato 🍅, with just the right amount of cilantro 🌱 and citrus 🍋. (this would make an awesome vegetarian meal unto itself... It's a big scoop of quac!) And this was just the beginning. The rest of the meal was excellent as well. Food was good. Got the whole tilapia dinner. Fish was slightly over cooked,but otherwise everything else was on point. Service was great. Great atmosphere. Would recommend for great Mexican fare.

Yesterday was my birthday, and our server came out with this. It's always a pleasure when I come here.

It's hard to find a good good Mexican spot. But I lucked up and found Sombrero one day passing by. Their food is delicious and the 🍷 drinks be on point. A lil crowded on weekends but still worth it. They never disappoints when I come. Very pleasant atmosphere and the staff is so on point and knowledgeable of everyone that walks thru the door. Keep up the good work

Its a whole vibe from entertainment, food, drinks, and the service was decent but we believe she was just having a day so not counting that against her. So overall great place if you want tacos and tequila 😋

Maaannn...I love this place!!! All the workers are pleasant and smiling, the customers are smiling, just great vibes! And during special events like cinco de mayo, they have the best DJ, I mean the best!!! Every time I come here it gets better and better!

Delicious food, very amazing service and such a great local vibe! Lots to choose from and such a fun server. We had good margaritas and had the option of choosing from quite a few different flavors!
