Lake Wales Family Restaurant

This place has amazing service and fantastic food that is reasonably priced. They give great portion sizes and you get a complimentary bowl of soup during lunch hours!

My partner and I went here once or twice a month for a while starting some time in 2021 - 2022. We had a long distance relationship where he lived in Clermont and I lived in Port Saint Lucie. Lake Wales is roughly halfway between us so we’d meet up to see each other here for the day.

Even during the rough times of the pandemic, this restaurant seemed to still thrive with guests! Staff here are very friendly and welcoming (a special highlight to Dana if she still works there!). After the first time eating here, it became the only restaurant in Lake Wales that we’d eat at. Though we’ve moved out of state now, we still make a point to visit here when we’re back in the area. :) Thanks for all the wonderful memories here!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE food and lovely service from a wonderful lady named Cathy. The restaurant was clean and ran smoothly. Like most importantly to most on reviews the food. Portions are nice sized, quality was fresh and taste OMGOODNESS so good. I got Fried Green tomatoes and a BLT with avocado and hubs got The Big 8 breakfast. I HIGHLY recommend this little spot. SO GOOD

After a visit at Bok Tower we were starving. We pulled up around 230 knowing we'd have to be quick as they closed at 3. The place was packed! We were able to get a seat immediately. Within about 15 minutes we had our food and were enjoying everything we'd ordered. They even gave us a bowl of the soup of the day on the house as it was the last of it. The food was so good we left our plates clean. The prices were fair, servers were all helpful to us and each other. Loved this little spot, and hope to go back soon!

Aaliyah is a Fantastic Server my hats off to her on the service she provided! Just discovered this restaurant today and will be coming back. It has this hometown feel that we love. The food we had was very well prepared and tasted real good. I recommend the Smothered Chicken myself. My wife has the chicken salad and she lived it. The bill was very reasonable! Thank you.

Today was our 1st time with a group of 7 people at 11 am on Sunday. The restaurant was extremely busy with approximate wait of 20 minutes. Our server was Dana who made the long wait worth it. Loved her energetic and positive approach. I ordered a Greek Salad and my husband ordered the Frank & Martin breakfast. Our server kept up on all the beverages and special requests within our group and it did not take long for the food to arrive. Food was good, but it's the customer service was what made our visit a 5 star rating. We highly recommend, and if you're lucky to have Dana waiting on you than it will be a real treat.

From the waitresses to the food, it was pretty dang good..

I think we found a new breakfast restaurant. The parking lot was packed so we thought we would have to wait but they have additional seating in the back. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Our waitress, Jesse, had a great personality. Food came out fast. I got stuffed French toast and my husband got a western omelette. Neither of us got up hungry and the food was delicious. Will definitely return when in the area.

Such good food and amazing service! The wait was only 15 minutes on a busy Saturday morning. They had great portions and friendly staff. A family run business doesn’t get better than this. Would highly recommend!

We always get lunch here when we are in the area. This time, we purposely took a route on the way to a campground so we could eat here! Plenty of room to park if you have an RV/camper/trailer.

I always say when you go to a Dinner place that there’s a lot of elderly people waiting in line that means the food must be good. First time here and the place was crowded. We came on a Sunday and at first I didn’t want to believe when the lady told us that the wait would be 5 minutes. I was impressed how fast and efficient this place is. This place is amazing! Highly Highly recommended. PS (Don’t get intimidated about the line, they work fast. Trust me!) Best place in Lake Wales and everyone that works there are really nice and respectful.

Not bad at all for a Sunday lunch. Had the turkey club which was great and the coleslaw was good too. My brother had the southwest chicken salad and he said it was good too. It was busy when we got there but was seated within 5 minutes or less. Server was friendly and did a good job by checking up on us from Time to time. Will return when back in town.

This is a great local diner with very good homemade food. I have had both breakfast and lunch here and the food and service was great! Be prepared for a short wait to be seated at times but it’s worth the wait.

Great food, friendly and wonderful staff! Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. Accommodated our group of 25 riders (with request beforehand) you won't be disappointed!

Best Diner in Lake Wales Period, And is the runner up for the best in POLK County, hands down. THIS PLACE IS A GEM. Definitely the place to bring family and have an authentic Diner experience. Customer service is world-class. I give them 10 stars.

Great Restaurant in Lake Wales! Came in last week with my family and we each enjoyed a sandwich and shared the fried green tomatoes. Personally, I loved the blt club sandwich and excited to go back soon!

My daughter and her husband went on an anniversary cruise, so I went over to Lake Wales to see if the "kids" had destroyed the house. As it ended up I took my 3 grand daughters out to lunch at Lake Wales Family Restaurant. They are all teenagers; from 14-18.
LWFR was a great choice. 3 kids and an old man all had prompt service and a very good meal!
In a former life, it seems to have been a Denny's sort of franchise. But as good local dinners only can do; they outshine Denny's by far and wide.
It's the sort of place, were you new to town or traveling thru, that you would thank your lucky stars to have found.
It's not 5 star.
It's not fancy.
Just a great busy local dinner, which says a lot in my book.
Food quality is good.
It amounted to 2 hamburgers, a chicken nuggets, my Reuben, and a burger to go for Gram. Bill was about $84 w tip as I recall. So it is well priced for local, but I wouldn't call it expensive as 14 was tip. 5 meals for $70ish and no complaints at all works for me.
I've been there 4 or 5 times in the last say 4 years and it has been consistent.
Service was very good and that from a very busy waitress, whose name i wish I could recall. But this was about the grands.
They are busy enough that we took one of the last two parking spots. But with people coming and going it seemed to work out for having gotten there just a little after high noon.
We had to wait for maybe 10-15 minutes at rush hour, but it went quickly.
Crowd was a mix of an older crowd and working folks. The grands were probably the youngest.
Tables are a little close, but noise levels were ok for the number of folks there enjoying lunch.
Overall, LWFR is a highly recommended local jewel!
And in case you were wondering, the house was fine, teen occupied, but fine.

What a great place for lunch or breakfast. Well kept and clean. Quick service with a smile. Watch out for the menu, very stiff and won’t lay open. Counter service along with booths and tables. Prices are reasonable and menu choices are excellent.

This is the most efficient restaurant in Florida. The food is awesome. The staff are all friendly and great. Management is off the chain excellent.
Try a burger, White Fish sandwich or Philly Cheese Steak all are outrageous good. I have Stuffed French Toast with strawberries at breakfast. I haven't found anything on the menu I didn't like. Amazing!!!!! One you try it, you will be hooked.

This restaurant is ran efficiently. When you arrive you are given a number. Within minutes your number is called and you are seated. Tables are cleaned immediately after customers exit the area. The food is very good. I had breakfast, 2 eggs my way with hash browns, toast and a pork chop which I had the choice of getting 2. It was delicious! Can't wait to go back again!

Mesa was a FABULOUS waitress!!! The food was way above average and a large selection. Best part? Very reasonable pricing.

Good diner food served with a smile. We have been here several times and everything we have tried has been delicious.
