Ray's Repairs

I will use him soon. I driving my truck down to just have him or wife install some mods on my truck. I'm a longtime fan and I've worked on cars all my life and I'm old. I'm no master mechanic or even a mechanic by trade but I know the work. He's as good as I've seen and he's as honest a man as you can find. I want to just say thanks if (and that's a big if) I can get an opening to get my truck in. He's busy because he's that good.

When I have time I like to do simple repairs myself. When I don't I like to go to someone with a reputation for trust.

I recently had a check engine light come on and wanted to know the cause and possibly fix it myself. Most shops will scan and give you a general diagnosis that may get you in the general area but that's about it. I took my 97 Merc in for a shudder and Ray had no problem running the codes and offering his advice, and it turns out his advice was correct. What looked like a bad EGR was a connector cracked and broken from heat and age.

He could have told me to go away for a couple of days and sold me a tune up and a new EGR, but he didn't.

I'm glad there are still good and honest mechanics out there. I had a similar experience but with a dealership wanting to sell me a transmission when code I was getting was for low transmission oil. So thank you for your honesty and keep up the good work!!
