Houma Police Department

Had an issue at a local establishment that required repair of a monitered fire alarm. Called HPD to explain the issue (incase of false alarm) and was helped by a very professional and courteous employee of HPD. She was very polite and understanding of the issue and was very acommodating to my request both times I called.

I'm only giving 3 stars for lack of information available online. The officers and supporting staff are very friendly and helpful, the facilities are well-maintained, but getting anything accomplished is a wild goose chase. To get a Terrebonne Parish Bar Card, you have to go to the Sherriff's office and get a background check and fingerprints ($15 and about 10 minutes, they'll also give you the "Application for a Certificate of Qualification" that you need to fill out and bring to the police department) and then make your way here to turn in your paperwork and take your photo for the physical card (which should be another $25). Theres a post-it note on the sign stating that they only do Bar Cards until 2, but everything else they do till 4. Major lack of information regarding this process online, and I'm very disappointed with them for that, but otherwise the staff was very helpful and friendly.
