Mack's On the River

My dad and I LOVE eating here. We started going during crawfish season this year, and now it's our go-to spot when he comes into town! The boiled seafood is always yummy and fresh, and they even have crab legs for a small additional price. The buffet is well-priced (especially during crawfish season). The service is impeccable! We had Winter as our server the first time we went, and now we request her. She does a lovely job and is always so sweet. Thanks for the great food and service, Mack's!

First time eating here but everything was seasoned very well...A bit pricey but overall good place to dine

This place was soooo good! The buffet was full of great choices! Salads, vegetables, entrees, seafood, and lots of desserts! So many delicious choices!! $32 for buffet. Kid’s buffet was $1.50 per age. Our 10yrs was $15. our server Hannah was super sweet and helpful!

It's the next best Seafood spot for me after retirement from Offshore on Friday all over the Gulf Of Mexico so I chose Macs Sefood for my Spot everything is great.

I visited home to host my Dad's 80th birthday dinner at Mack's On The River. From the time I contacted Mack's up to the dinner, Ms. Roblyn exhibited great hospitality. We stayed in communication, and I was able to meet her the day before the dinner to view the reserved space and cover a few minor details.
Moreover, the day of the dinner was phenomenal ❤ Ms. Roblyn and her (5) waitresses were great!! Their ability to cater to my family and friends, 75+, was unmatched and remarkable.
Mack's you are blessed to have Ms. Roblyn and her five angels, because that's what keeps a business in business ✔
Ms. Roblyn, I thank you for everything😘 A few phone calls and a couple of visits has sparked a friendship and I'll never forget your part in making my Dad's 80th birthday one for the books🎉❤🥂

I read some negative reviews about this restaurant, but decided to take the drive up from the coast to give it a try. Wow are we glad we did. The food was so fresh and EVERYTHING was delicious. The staff is very friendly and check on you often. We will definitely make the trip again sometime soon, well worth the drive up. We ate the Sunday buffet. Also very affordable for the delicious food we had, i wish i could give it more than 5 stars because i sure would!!!

Ate here on Sunday. The only option is the $19:99 buffet; well worth the price. Plenty to satisfy everyone. Fried catfish, filets and whole. Baked and fried chicken.

I am absolutely in love with this place, GREAT food, wonderful people who work there. We Sat outside and enjoyed the view of the river! I say this is a place you HAVE to stop at!!

Service couldn't be better an the food was wonderful....

We were camping at Paul B Johnson State Park and wanted some great fried catfish and this place did not disappoint. The buffet is a sampler of simple southern comfort food done right! Our favorites included the whole fried fish, fried oysters, boiled and fried shrimp, collard greens, black eyed peas, squash, and tasty desserts. The restaurant had large seating capacity, was very clean and staff was very nice.

Outstanding as always. Seafood buffet on Saturday night is better than going to the coast. Fried oysters, shrimp, catfish fillets, whole catfish, deviled crab, boiled shrimp, baked catfish, gumbo and more. Fresh, delicious, well-priced and a terrific wait-staff. Never disappointed.

I can rave about how awesome the food is. But it won't be good enough. If you haven't ever eaten here, you should. As I said, the food is awesome. The staff is great. I would say it's the best buffet.

Great food but was expensive

The food is good but a lot of foods that used to be on the buffet are no longer available. The Mack's out on HWY 98 has a much better food selection in my opinion. They stay super crowded, so this tells you the food is good. Just wish they would bring back the grit's, wonderful corn/crab chowder, chicken livers and stuffed shrimp again. Service is always good, restrooms are clean and we'll stocked.
