Murky Waters BBQ - Hattiesburg

The patty melt was really good. The portion of fried okra was plentiful. All the food was hot and delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. I'd definitely recommend stopping by here if you like good bbq.

On the 7-hour drive home from a disastrous weekend getaway, we really REALLY needed some comfort food. We decided to try somewhere off the interstate. What we found was Murky Waters BBQ. The service here was outstanding. We were told it was just 1 guy in the kitchen but that didn't diminish the quality of the service or the food. I got the brisket and my wife got the blackened chicken - both were outstanding. We decided to make Murky Waters our go-to in Hattiesburg since we usually roll through here around lunch time on the way to New Orleans and around dinner time on the way back. Thank you, Murky Waters! You guys were just what we needed.

Was recommended to try this place out and was NOT disappointed at all. Highly recommend Wednesday night for the wings. The loaded waffle fries were a hit as well.

Probably the best barbecue place in town. They have a killer brisket and virtually no waiting time. Every thing we had was great. They have a good selection of BBQ sauce and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

The food was great for the most part. It's a nice option when we are in the area. The chicken and brisket are the best. The pulled pork was okay but lacked on flavor. The baked beans and potato salad were amazing. The fries seemed greasy and no crunch to them.

Missed the place when I first drove by, it looks residential. I was greeted by a cat on the patio, nice touch. The people working there were super friendly. The food came out relativelt fast, had great flavor, and was ample, especially for the price. Worth a stop for sure.

Cute place, love the atmosphere, the waitress was very hilarious and pleasant, the food was good & different & all three BBQ sauces were very good. Never had burnt ends before, totally different.

This is our first time here. The food was absolutely delicious. Our server Steven or should I say the "guy with the dreads" (FYI that's what he told me to call him lol) was awesome and he also makes a pretty nice margarita. We will be back.

Fantastic food! Great customer service too. Our servers Stephen and Zoe were so personable. Dog friendly deck was important. We must return here asap!

Dining here is definitely worth repeating. Everything was delicious and the selection looked very good. My only complaint is that the food was slow to arrive but the quality made up for that. The staff was very friendly and the patio is dog friendly as well.

First time visit!! Burnt ends sandwich was delectable!! Great baked beans, brisket sandwich had slightly dry meat and the coleslaw was a bit bland. Needed something. Vinegar? A bit of mustard? A bit more sweetness? Thank you for the ear tipped, local tnr cats in the back!! I volunteer at a rescue and was glad to see your sign in the front regarding that. I always have cat food with me and so I treated them to lunch in back ❤.

Absolutely amazing brisket and burnt ends. The collard greens were fantastic and the portions were huge. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend this place!! I’m visiting my parents in town and I placed an order for pick-up for us. I read the reviews first, and had a good feeling about this place. I got the pick 2 combo, brisket and pulled chicken with Mac & Cheese and sweet potato fries. I also asked for a variety of BBQ sauces. You get a lot of food for the price. The brisket was so tender and flavorful. The chicken was amazing too, tender, juicy & full of flavor, I enjoyed the Smokey taste. This is definitely the best BBQ in town that I have discovered so far! I’ll definitely be going back again.

Always has the best food. Great for catering large or small events or family gatherings. The meats are so good (we love the ribs, burnt ends, and pulled pork), and their baked beans and potato salad are both so good. Live music on Friday nights.

I had the burnt ends and smoked wings for appetizer. They were both delicious. All the sauces were excellent. The best thing was the service. We were up there yesterday afternoon. I had a make server don't remember his name but he didn't a great job. Very attentive, never had to wait for anything and friendly. Clearly knew his job.

Hands down best food out of all their locations! Fresh and savory burnt ends and perfect sides to finish it out!! 10outta 10 guys!!!

The ribs were amazing. I couldn't decide which of the 3 sauces I liked best; Spicy, Sweet or Tangy Vinegar. The BBQ Beans are great, and especially good are the onion strings. Always a favorite.

A little way from the Interstate but I’m so glad we made the effort. Brandon was an excellent server and made us feel like family!

The loaded fries are great to start with at this place. It is salty waffle fries with cheese, bacon, and chives. The pulled pork is moist and tender, and you get three sauces, table side, that you can choose from. I had a chance to try it with onion rings, fried oakra, and sweet potato fries. It was all good. This place is fairly priced for the amount of food you get and the great service.
