ASEM telescopes open to the public on Friday nights from sundown till ~23:00. Home to the largest publicly accessible telescope in all of Missouri (32 inch aperture). Several other scopes live down there permanently too, on Friday nights club members will also bring out their own scopes.

Beautiful Star Park with very knowledgeable, friendly astronomers that share their telescopes!

Wonderful place to go to view the night sky. Also during the late spring and su.mer months there are tons of fireflies in the field and trees around this area which makes for a magical view

This is the best Astro parks in the region. Perfect to get out of light-polluted skies of St Louis region.

Brilliant park/outdoor observatory! It's been a staple most of my life. Best times to visit: Sunset and after, star/planet gazing through the night (this park does not have time restrictions), Sunrise. Contact park & rec to reserve an observation pad with outlets, if wanted. You do not have to rent anything to observe or be at this park. Parking available. TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS OFF after parking 🙂 *Be mindful of picking up after your animal family

Tonight was my first time visiting. I know nothing about astronomy but started my education thanks to some friendly folks who were there with their telescope. Very nice space, I will definitely return.

Amazing park but I feel like there’s some suspect characters that show up later on in the night

A gem of a park in St Charles Co. Very large, could spend a full day and not see it all. Lots of playgrounds and structures for gatherings. They have a great dog park! There is even an area to the east of the park for people to setup telescopes and stargaze. a feature i had never seen at a park.

Went to an event to watch the last total solar eclipse hosted by Astronomy club. They had their telescopes and let us view through their scopes, one man even let me use his solar lens for my camera, so that I could get some captures of the event. The atmosphere is gorgeous in Autumn. This event occurred in August and there were already an abundance of Autumn colors surrounding us. Love this spot!

Love going here. It’s nestled in a nice spot that has less light pollution but not too far out from the city so it’s an easy drive. It does get a little packed on big event nights but there’s usually a ranger to guide traffic so that helps.

All in all it made an amazing date night for me and my partner. We brought a blanket, some pillows, and a picnic. Ended up staying until sunrise it was so nice.

They also have event nights on Fridays I believe that you can bring the kiddos and they can learn about astronomy.

Very nice site for star gazing! More than my kid, I was excited to see the Saturn with its rings!! Astronomers were very friendly and helped us to how to use a telescope, helped us understand the positions of the stars; and how and where to look for them. They were very informative and knowledgeable!! We really enjoyed the visit and definitely will be visiting again (multiple times).

Its a very good place to just relax and gaze at the stars even without a telescope.

Very cool place to see stars and get away a little bit. Some Friday's there is a local astronomy club set up and the members will share a view with their high power telescopes. All in all, very very educational and awesome!

Very pretty park! The playground is big and fantastic! We just did family pictures here and there are lots of beautiful spots. Pretty little lake. Lots of walking/hiking trails. Can’t wait to go back!

If you want to see the planets and galaxies far, far away, visit this park on a Friday evening. It's a great setup for star gazing. Members of the astronomy group will be there and are happy to share their telescopes and knowledge. Restrooms are available; they don't have electricity but are beautifully maintained.

Free Friday Astronomy night was so cool. It would be perfect for kiddos and kids at heart! Everyone was super friendly and let us look through their telescope. I love nerdy dates like these. The people that bring their telescopes just love their hobby and also love to educate the rest of us. We were able to see Saturn and Jupiter when we went. I cannot wait to take my little brother one day.

It's a beautiful place, lots of platforms to stargaze, set up a telescope, or even have a night picnic.
I would definitely go there again!

Reasonable dark sky site for being so close to the city. The eastern horizon definitely has a ton of light pollution from St Louis and the NW horizon has some from St Charles and the north and northeast sky are quickly gaining light pollution from new development. However, the southern sky is pretty decent. On good nights, I've been able to see a bit past 5th magnitude with the unaided eye and the milky way can faintly be made out if you know what you're looking for.

Convenient suburban astronomy park for anyone with a telescope or binoculars. Good viewing except to the east which has significant sky glow. Kid friendly but it's NOT A PLAYGROUND so good behavior is the rule.
