We stopped by here as one of our friends just randomly searched while returning from hiking up in Great Smoky Mountain. My friend looked up for a great chicken sandwich and this place was it. It was very fancy restaurant with pretty Christmas decoration. We ordered porkbelly grit as an appetizer and I had a Birchwood burger (medium). I had fries for the side. The plating was beautiful and the foods were amazing. Porkbelly grit was really amazing that we finished them all in less than a minute. It was literally gone. Birchwood burger was very juicy and savory. The fries that came out for the side were very crispy. If you ever get to visit some place around here, stop by and check this place out. The foods were awesome. Oh, and also I forgot to mention. The staffs were so friendly and professional. Overall, with very less information, it was a very satisfying experience. Highly recommend! 👍

Enjoyed the fresh Arugula, beet and goat cheese salad with added grilled chicken. The portion was generous and dressing flavorful. My friend ordered the chicken pot pie with side salad and was pleased. They offer a nice craft cocktail menu and the server was friendly and attentive. I will return when back in the area.

We came for the pot pie which is only served during lunch hours... highly recommend. The fried goat cheese fritters were so creamy and paired well with the pepper jelly! The Old Fashion is particularly good... right parts of Smoky and citrus. Very very good. We loved every minute of it!

I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, grilled green beans and it’s delicious Takes you back to grandma’s table! So good and Tina is a great server/advisor/bartender! The special of the day appetizer- shaved sea scallop ceviche- was incredible! Friendly staff. Every meal I’ve had here has been very good! Great dining experience 🧡

Service was very friendly and the food was delicious. Wife ordered the Fried Chicken platter and I had the Birchwood Burger. We tried the Goat Cheese fritters appetizer accompanied with some 50/50 Sweet/Unsweetened tea. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Returned once more and tried the duck, which was delicious. My dining mates had the dinner fried chicken and mushroom. All fantastic as well.
Side note… they do make a mean peach Old Fashioned worth giving a try if you’re into those. I had requested that mine be customized with Basil Hayden and they did. It was a 10/10.

First time eating here…. was amazing. Everything from the entrees to the sauces was all made in-house. Had the duck wings appetizer with homemade blue cheese and homemade hot sauce…. stellar. Entrees, we had the pork chop and the meatloaf, both fantastic and for dessert we tried the buttermilk pie and banana pudding. Both highly recommended!! Will definitely return!

Choose to eat here before I drove back home from my trip. Paul really stood out with his professionalism and attention to detail. The burger I had was definitely top-notch, and they have the best homemade Apple cobbler desert that I've ever had... even has a scoop of ice cream at the top. I really enjoyed my visit here!

Creative, southern inspired menu, friendly, relaxing environment, fabulous service! The food was absolutely delicious and prices were great. We shared "From the Table" Tomato Pie and Collard Green Casserole as well as Pork Belly Grits with heirloom popcorn which, to our surprise, was a perfect garnish. Pork belly was heavenly! Tomato pie was flavorful and fresh. The collard green casserole was to-die-for! We will definitely be back!

My son and I was visiting from out of town and I had heard about Birchwood Dining Hall, so we have it a try. We ordered a Burger w/Fries, BLT w/Fries and the Mac-n- Cheese. Everything was amazing and the portions great. We had to get a to-go box.
The price, quality and staff are fantastic. Will Definitely be going back soon.

Birchwood Hall Southern Kitchen in Waynesville, NC is a true gem in the mountains of NC. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The restaurant has a charming and rustic decor, which adds to the ambiance of the dining experience.

The real star of the show is the food. Birchwood Hall Southern Kitchen serves up some of the best Southern-style cuisine in the area, all at prices that are extremely reasonable. I am a big fan of their meatloaf, which is cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is always top-notch.

In addition to the delicious entrees, Birchwood Hall also offers a great selection of appetizers, cocktails, beer, and wine. The drinks are all expertly crafted, and the beer and wine selection is impressive. Make sure to have room left after your meal, the desserts are all made in-house and are a real treat!

One unique aspect of Birchwood Hall is that they have paintings on the walls that are for sale. These paintings add to the charm of the restaurant and make great conversation pieces.

Birchwood Hall Southern Kitchen is a must-visit restaurant for anyone in the Waynesville area. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are all top-notch, and I can't recommend it enough.

The pan seared trout with the fall succotash was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere as fantastic and the house whiskey sour was refreshing. I definitely plan on making a return trip when I come back in the fall.

My daughter and I drove up from nearby Hendersonville for a day trip and wanted to try somewhere new and was very satisfied with the place overall. Natasha was our waitress( please be sure to tip your waitress) and was super sweet and refilled our teas( which was so good and was NOT overly sweet), efficient, knowledgeable and told us the backstory for the restaurant. My daughter ordered a turkey club and I had a chicken sandwich and the fries were awesome as well. The atmosphere was pretty mellow,we went around 2 and it really wasn't that busy for a Saturday. They do close for an hour to allow breaks for everyone but check the times just to be sure and open back up after that. I was impressed and we will be going back next Saturday as well. This is located in downtown Waynesville on Main.

We went here for a late lunch! The food was so good. We enjoyed all our food so much. The chicken salad sandwich was so good. The fried chicken was delicious! And the chicken pot pie is a must! The server and staff were so friendly and took really good care of us. The waitress remembered my grandparents.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. We are vegetarian and were able to get creative with the menu - country fried portabella, Dad's tomato pie and collard green casserole - all superb. Great cocktails, too! Service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

We had a delicious dinner, splitting the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. Also had the peach cobbler and banana pudding for dessert to take home. Would not hesitate to eat here again. Our server Christine was great !

We just love Birchwood Hall! Anytime we are in Waynesville it is a have to eat location. We've never had a bad meal or experience. We usually end up getting two separate entrees and then splitting them so we can enjoy the new dishes.

We were there this weekend and enjoyed the Birchwood burger with side salad and the skillet chicken pot pie. The burger had pork belly as well as the burger. It was probably one of the best burgers I have had. The side salad had homemade green goddess dressing which was incredible! Could literally dip the fries in it!

The skillet chicken pot pie had a puff pastry crust laying on top of it. The flavor of the pot pie was probably the best that either my wife or I have had. We could eat that 5 days a week!

The staff was friendly, the atmosphere great and for once the wait was short.

You can't go wrong here. We just wish they had a location a little closer to home in Asheville.

This was such a great dinner experience!

We had an Airbnb in Waynesville but we’re spending a large portion of our time in Asheville. We were thrilled to find such a quality restaurant closer to where we were staying!
I had the country fried portobello mushroom and it was delicious. Highly recommend! The duck wings were also really great. Hot sauce wasn’t too hot.

Service and food was excellent. We stopped in for lunch and had the beet salad, salmon and grits’ Mac n cheese and fried chicken sandwich. All were excellent!

Nice bourbon selection as well as several drafts on tap.

We stopped in for brunch on a Sunday and the food was excellent! Perfect spice (robust and balanced, not crazy) on the cajun dishes and very friendly service. After church the crowd increased appreciably. We will definitely return when we have time for a beer and more delicious food.

Outstanding quality food and top quality cocktails. The goat cheese fritters were great. We had the pork chop and the meatloaf. Both were very good and nicely presented.
