Watami Sushi & Noodles

We were seated fast and good thing because the restaurant really filled up after we arrived. I ordered the Tom yum soup with chicken and a crazy dragon roll , I think it may be the best sushi I’ve had in the mountains yet. The restrooms are clean, the staff was always smiling and they have on site parking . A win win 🥇

First time to visit and loved the atmosphere. We were seated immediately by a very pleasant hostess. After ample time to peruse their extensive menu we ordered and the meal came promptly. We tried the bang bang shrimp, General Tso chicken and hot sour soup. All were delicious. We will definitely return.

We are here January 1st. One of the only places opened today. It was not only a great service but great food. I love Pad Thai and I’ve tried it in lots of places (including Thailand) and this one is one of the authentic ones. The sushi was delicious as well. I recommend the Smokey Mountain sushi.

We had a family celebration at Watami in their party room and it was really nice. The food there is always excellent and I enjoyed trying some new types of sushi on this visit. I highly recommend the Biltmore roll! My son had the seafood stuffed eggplant with garlic sauce that was just amazing! I'm ordering that next time. Our server, Gunn, was also very good and our food arrived quickly and all the orders were correct. Good job Watami!

The food is simply amazing. Very fresh, attractively served. Seasoned to perfection. Waitstaff is warm, gracious and knowledgeable.

The Ginger Honey Tea was delicious and very pretty. The squid salad is the best that I’ve ever had and I greatly enjoyed my Pad Thai with Shrimp. Portions were large.

I was in town on a quick overnight getaway and was craving some sushi. This cute restaurant was perfect. Located in the cute downtown of Waynesville, it was packed on a Sunday. We got to sit in the side room with live music. So cool. The food was fantastic. Everything we had was great. Gyoza for appetizer, side of rice and noodles, and 3 sushi rolls. The staff was all so pleasant. We can't wait to come back when we are in the area.

Always a great experience here. I've lost count of the number of times we've come here. Recommend the Power Roll, but really nothing we've tried has been disappointing.

My wife and I have been coming here for a while now, and we just had lunch today, and it was so good that I really wanted to share pics and comment on our server, Cameron. We have had him a couple of times, and every time, he has been so attentive and nice. He is very attentive but not hovering. He is nice but over talkative. He is exact. We have never had a mistake with him. We asked for roe on the side, and as you can see, it came out perfect. Thank you, we will be back many more times.

We went for a Sunday drive and ended up here. The inside is unassuming but the food is fantastic. The calamari was good but the sashimi cocktail appetizer was AMAZING! Whatever sauce they tossed it in was really good. We ordered 2 rolls to split and I accidentally ordered the wrong one, and I'm very glad I did. Shrimp tempura with Mango and lemon. A happy accident. We definitely will be adding this place to our list of regulars.

Love this place. Great sushi, appetizers, and hibachi. This is my go to place for sushi in Haywood county!

Came for dinner and tried the general tso's chicken, which was delicious. They serve a mixture of primarily Japanese and Chinese dishes including sushi, noodles, and the various Americanized Chinese staples. They do offer some Thai dishes, but sushi and Cantonese seem to be their specialties.

Everything that came out looked well-executed and of good quality. The service was great and they had a good selection of Japanese beers and Sake.

The prices were a bit high, but the portions were massive and I had enough food for a second meal. Portions were about the equivalent of two takeout containers.

Watami has good sushi options. The portions are fine but a bit more of an expensive option in Waynesville. If you’re okay with that then give them a try the food is good. Plus the parking right next to the restaurant is very handy

One of the best sushi and Asian restaurants I have been to. Excellent portion sizes, high quality food, exceptional service, and very reasonable prices. The lunch specials for sushi and hibachi are a great deal. Also, the pork gyoza was the best I have ever had - you can tell it was homemade and prepared, not taken out of a freezer. Wish I had a restaurant like this closer to my home. A must-stop if you are in Waynesville!

Husband and I stopped in for a pick-up order, and it's always a good sign when the lot is packed and there's loads of people picking up food.
His chicken katsu was very good. He said the chicken tasted super fresh, and the sauce was perfect. His California roll and spring rolls were also tasty. My tofu and vegetables were fantastic. First, I'm always thrilled when I can get tofu in small towns, but the veggies were also fresh and just the right amount of crisp. The veggie and tofu tempura was great, so good I wish I could get the staff to teach our local places at home to do it this well. Yum.

I drive over from Tennessee fairly often to eat here, it's always been delicious! The sushi is fantastic, and artfully presented. The noodles are a delight, large fresh veggies throughout, and they aren't skimpy with the proteins. In a convenient location in downtown Waynesville, NC. There is even a parking lot on the side of the building, so no worries about finding a place to park!

Visited again, and still thoroughly pleased with the service, and the food ! Went with a Phoenix roll, Kirin roll, avocado eel roll, seafood eggplant, seaweed salad, deep fried cheesecake, and a few other items! All of them were perfect, fresh, and delicious! Thanks again !

Great little sushi place in downtown Waynesville. The fusion roll was excellent, highly recommend it. Their menu is expansive and they are very keen to adjust their sushi rolls if you have allergies to anything listed. Overall, it was a great meal!

Service was excellent, our server was very polite and even though busy helped us with everything we needed. Sushi was fresh and very well made with quality ingredients. All of our dishes were made spectacular with fine quality ingredients. Definitely a gem to visit! Next time we come to town we will definitely come back! Wasn't too busy at the time we arrived about 3:15pm. Great atmosphere to be in! Restaurant decor was beautiful to view as well!!

Great atmosphere, great sushi, and just an overall awesome vibe. Highly recommend Watami for anyone looking for a good lunch or dinner spot in the Waynesville area. Definitely recommend the weekday sushi lunch special, where you can grab some sushi for cheap. You will not be disappointed in this place

We are regulars. It is fantastic. But today we encountered a problem that upset me quite a bit. When we received our check, there is a separate price for cash and a separate price for credit card. The difference is exactly 3%.
This practice is unacceptable in my opinion! You choose to accept credit cards. You pay the fee to those companies. Don't pawn it off on the customer. I enjoy the restaurant but this issue is a big letdown!

The food was excellent, everything was very fresh! And they had plenty of vegan-friendly options, too. The service was very good and the dining room was comfortable. Overall, we had a great experience!
