Petra Cafe Greek & Mediterranean

Decided to try out the Mediterranean food & grocery at Petra tonight after a late meeting and was very pleased. My partner is Israeli-American and he left a very happy guy. The service was timely with the young lady frequently checking on us. We dined outside on the patio which was pleasant & the food was delicious. I have eaten at many Mediterranean and Greek restaurants/festivals over the years and I would rate this in my top 5 easily. Conveniently located near the hospital and right on one of the main highways. I would also recommend checking out the grocery area they have and you CAN'T forget the Baklava.

Great place to eat if you have Celiac Disease. Lots of gluten free options! Menu is marked GF which is so much help! Everything was fresh, delicious and flavorful! Would definitely eat here again when in Hattiesburg! My husband and I both had the Mediterranean Chicken. The hummus was the best I've ever eaten!!

The food is amazing! Gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu and they accommodated our dairy allergy as well. We had a gyro salad, falafel, kofta plate and lamb with hummus and rice...so delicious! The leftovers were great the next day too! I can't wait to go back again. Honestly this has got to be the best eating in Hattiesburg. If I lived in Hattiesburg I'd eat there all the time!

20/10!!!! Outstanding in every way! Get the roasted vegs instead of rice! They are excellent. Get the tiramisu and a shot of Ouzo.

We enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was seasoned and cooked well. The only complaint I would have is, the rice was not that great. The lamb and humus was seasoned well.

First time ordering from this restaurant, I didn’t have high expectations since I ordered via DoorDash especially but OMG YASSS! Next time I’ll be dining in 😁 🤤

If you're looking for a nice, relaxing place to eat and this us the spot. Very clean establishment, friendly staff and service was fast.

Food was amazing. According to my husband, the lamb chips melted in his mouth. He says the lamb died just for him and he appreciated the sacrifice.

We will be back very and will definitely tell family and friends about this restaurant.

Spectacular food. The lunch specials are the perfect portion size. Starts with salad and hummus, then a basket of pita bread. We all had the chicken and gyro plate. Tried the fried cheese. Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. Courteous. Restaurant was clean, atmosphere inviting. Great experience! We will be back.

Baba Ghanouj appetizer. Chicken shawarma plate came with salad and small serving of hummus. The chicken and the rice was terrific. Very good service. We'll certainly be going back.
As promised we returned. Gyro - yes. The lamb shank - terrific!

When we come to Mississippi....we have to go here. The food is fabulous!

Even though they were packed with a huge gathering, the waitress had us feeling like we the only customers that n the place. She took very good care of us and kept our drinks full. My son ordered the lamb kabob and we ordered the Falafel and the chicken Shawarma. All were very well put together and tasted great. Can’t wait to return.

My daughter and I love trying new places and Petra Cafe did not disappoint. We went mid-afternoon and had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was superb and each plate was hot/ fresh. We ordered the Petra Mezza for two.

Usually I do not give five stars in every catagoy. However Petro Cafe is so spot on it would be criminal not to award all fives. Fifteen years in this location is a testament to their quality service, cleanliness, delicious foods and reasonable pricing. Kudos to management.

Great service .

What a find! We were visiting Hattiesburg for the day and stopped in for lunch. Very friendly staff and the decor is appropriate for Mediterranean food. We both had the lamb Shwarma which was served with a delicate rice, salad, hummus and pita bread. It was delish! Price was very reasonable. We will definitely add this little gem to our list of go to places.

I only gave the atmosphere 4 stars because it was so quiet, and I have such bad anxiety in quiet spaces. lol Otherwise, this place was incredible, and I can't wait to return

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat for lunch and was not disappointed! I got the traditional hero and added feta cheese with a side salad and it was phenomenal! Everything was super fresh and tasty. I will most definitely be stopping again soon for supper so I can try some of their other delicious offerings.

Could not have asked for a better road trip lunch stop! Excellent service, great authentic flavor.

Similar road trip 2 years later couldn't pass up an opportunity to eat here again! It was just as good this time around.

Alhumdulilah best food ! Best customer service! We we’re driving back home so stoped here , made the best choice!
