Very nice random find in the area. Excellent food! We had a bacon cheeseburger, turkey club, mushroom Swiss burger, cheese sticks, onion rings, fries, and of course sweet tea. All of the food that we saw other people looked awesome, too. The prices were great and not ridiculous like so many places are now. Two people ate for $24. This would have easily been $30+ at other places nearby. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back soon.

Look we live in Florida but escape the Florida heat by driving the Parkway. When in the area we ALLWAYS stop at Famous Louise's Rock House Restaurant. No I mean always.

Your in the area make no excuses just stop for a meal but check first that their open. You won't regret it. Mostly were have the pot roast with mashed potatoes and green beans or the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Make sure you leave room for some homemade pie. Yeah it's really good. No room for pie we just take a couple of pieces to go.

Just drop in it's old style comfort food cooking at it's best.

How wonderful to find a local restaurant, with GREAT FOOD, Good & Friendly service, and no LOUD music blasting on speakers placed thru out eatery. Had dinner Thursday evening - and it was so good, we returned Friday (the 13th!) For a hearty and Delicious breakfast. Fast service too!

This place was neat and served excellent food! The pot roast was so good! They have several different pie options. The strawberry rhubarb pie was fantastic! This restaurant is in a great location as it's very close to Linville falls and Linville caverns! It's the perfect place to stop and get a good meal after a day of exploring.

Stopped by while traveling through Linville Falls.
Food was great.
We had fried green tomatoes and pickle chips. Green tomatoes were a small portion. The pickle chips are a large serving. The soups were a beef veggie and chicken noodle.
My partner had the salad with fried chicken which was great. Portion size was large.
I had the local special: baked ham with fried okra and collards. Both were very good. Service was great, I highly recommend.

A LOCAL FAVORITE! An old-fashioned wooden screen door welcomes you into this rustic and delicious casual dining experience. Decor is down home with Mason jars filled with homemade jams lining the window sills. We asked some locals if they come here a lot and they said "sometimes twice a day!" We started the meal with some warm strawberry rhubarb pie--it was off the charts great! Chicken Sandwich was good but my wife's Mushroom Swiss burger was AMAZING! HOWEVER the best part of our experience was our server. She took time to chat and tell us about the restaurant and it's history. Follow GPS to get here easily from Grandfather Mountain. Posting a menu for your convenience. Highly recommend!

This place has a lot of history in it and the food is excellent. We really enjoyed reading about the history of the restaurant and the three counties that it sits on. If you’re ever in the area I recommend you stop by and grab some food here.

Great food. They have a small number of employees so might take a minute or two longer when they are busy. It's well worth it. It's country food and it's good. This place is located in 3 countys all in the same building!

We came here after visiting Grandfather Mountain on our way to Linville Winery. It was an incredibly busy day on the parkway with everyone traveling to see the fall foliage. We had quite a wait (even at 3:00 in the afternoon) because there were only two waitresses there working - who were also doing the job of hostess, cashier, and busting tables (they deserve a raise!). I appreciated their work ethic and sympathized with their frustration! Good help is so hard to find these days. BUT the food was delicious and hot and we were taken care of just fine. And did I mention the prices? 8.99 for a two piece fried chicken meal with two sides! We had the fried green tomatoes with red pepper jam (delicious) and ended with a slice of pie. Everyone in our group left happy with full bellies. I will be sure to stop here again when we are in the area. Hopefully they can find some more staff soon. :)

Great stop if you are traveling through. We went for breakfast and by far the best I have had. Definitely you will not be disappointed. Placed in a beautiful part of the Blue Ridge.

The special was Haddock with fries and slaw, very generous portions. My wife had the pot roast with a baked potato and side salad. The pot roast was perfectly moist and like butter to cut, delicious. We had the onion rings and fried green tomatoes, also perfectly prepared. Everything arrived hot and quickly, just like we enjoy! Our server Jamie was courteous, and doting, providing excellent service with a smile. A fantastic eating experience that we look forward to going back soon. 👍✝❤

The food was great and the prices near unbeatable. We got a cheeseburger and bbq plate with sides for about $20. The sweet potato fries and hush puppies were especially delicious - crisp, fresh, and not overly sweet. Service was prompt and friendly. Would def visit again!

We drive over an hour to eat here about every other week. During the summer we eat there every weekend as our camper is at Mountain Paradise.
Not only is the food great, but so is the Customer Service. Hats off to the cooking staff as well. We have never had to send our food back. From breakfast to lunch to plate meals, you will not find a better place to eat!!

The food was delicious, I had chicken salad and my husband had a burger. The folks here are so nice and the homemade food is really special. Stop here on the way to Linville Falls and enjoy yourself. Three counties come together inside the restaurant🤩 I left my purse inside and they came running to the car to catch me ‼‼

We have passed by this restaurant severals times in a few years, but never stopped because we weren't hungry. We stopped this time. Was pleasantly surprised about the whole place! From being able to sit in one county and pay for our meal in another, that was neat. The servers are awesome, along with the prices and the food! We will make sure we're hungry the next time we go through Linville!

Fantastic place for a meal. Chicken and dumplings, roast beef, and a hamburger for our table. Good prices, good food and great music in the background. Seventies rock, can't beat it. Will definitely be back when in the area. Park on the side of the building so you want have to back out onto the road.
Great general store across the road also.

Steady good food. I used to eat here frequently with my Great ain’t whenever she would visit and when she passed away I stopped going. After 10+ years I returned and the food Being made was still just as good as i remember. It’s southern home cooking. The menu and options are nice. Portions are ok. Wait times can be long because it does stay pretty crowded.
Parking can be tough.
It’s close to the parkway. Always enjoyable!

This is a long-standing gem that is a favorite for locals but also friendly to tourists. Pick a county to sit in! The kids loved looking at all of the things on the walls. We ate breakfast here two days in a row and had everything from pancakes to breakfast sandwiches to grits and home fries. Friendly service and AMAZING homemade jelly that was also available for sale. We will make this a regular stop when visiting the mountains.

Make sure you get the pie - even if you get it to go because you're so stuffed from the huge plates of food they bring out. The pie has this amazing flaky buttery crust that almost melts in your mouth.

Some of the best food I have ever had. Despite being slammed the wait staff was pleasant and accommodating. Definitely will return anytime we are in the area. 👍👍👍👍👍
