Town of Milwaukee Union Cemetery

My first review of a cemetery! Not that I'm currently in the market. I had some time to kill so I found this place that was once in the Town of Milwaukee (now within the suburban sprawl). This is a Union cemetery, which means it's non-denominational and maintained by a "union" of churches. The oldest headstones, from early 1900's, are written in German....Ruhe Sanft

Question: Could we clean some gravestones ourselves? I do notice some in rough shape, and others in very pristine condition.

This cemetery could be a beautiful memorial to our loved ones. Unfortunately, with the mall construction, I have witnessed people throwing liquor bottles and driving through the cemetery just to get to port Washington rd. It would be nice to see a fence go up around the cemetery to preserve and respect the deceased and the grounds. There are graves that are in the tree lines around the perimeter of the cemetery. Lost and forgotten. Someone should take care of these issues. With all the developments being made and a Culver’s being put up pretty much directly at the edge of the cemetery, we need a boundary put up! Get a fence!
