Country House Cafe

This used to be a debatable place when it was a BBQ. Definitely stop here and have a good meal for sure. It's a good little place now. Family friendly and good food and service. I will definitely be returning for more good food.

We were in the area for a quick weekend qetaway with our dog. They were close by and their patio was dog friendly so we thought we would give them a try. We ended up going both nights for dinner. The mashed potatoes and sweet potato crunch were our favorite sides we tried. The crab cakes had a nice crunch to the breading. The waiter was very friendly and was extra nice to our dog by bringing her out alittle bite as well. Loved watching all the animals roam around as we ate. Neat place and will definitely come back next time we are in the area

This place is FANTASTIC! The food was fresh, lean and delicious, our server Renee was a complete pro... Very friendly and personable. We came in to Travelers Ret, SC for our nephew's wedding and found Country House Cafe through Google.... The reviews were good but hopefully I'm here to bring it to an easy 5... I highly recommend Country House Cafe to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot.

Greeter/waitress, very nice. Place was clean and neat. Service was fast and food arrived quickly. The food and serving size was almost exactly like my mom used to make. I had the roast beef over rice and it was tender and very tasty. The Mac and cheese tasted home made. The rice was slightly over-cooked which is exactly how I like it! The fried okra could have been a bit warmer but it was good anyway.
There were beautiful deserts but I was very full halfway thru the meal and ended up leaving food on the plate. Once again, this will remind you of home.
Outside is plenty of family fun with swings, farm animals, etc.
This is a place for all to enjoy. Country atmosphere and food at its best!!

Absolutely great. Food was perfect served by the friendliest waitress. The
Duo- appetizer(Pimento & Spinach dip with bread) certainly laid the ground work for what was,with dip & bread being wonderful. Atmosphere is topped off the perfect dinner.

Hidden gem. Be aware it is easy to fly past this place so keep your eyes peeled.

The menu has a great variety of items to choose from. Great home style lunch and dinner options, burgers, sandwiches, and salads.
I had the chicken and berry salad over spinach and it was not only delicious but loaded with chicken. My guest had the fried green tomato BLT with sweet potato fries. The "fries" appeared to be an entire sweet potato sliced and fried to perfection. They also served it with caramel sauce wich made the incredibly decadent.
We also ordered the Duo Dip Appetizer. It came with warm spinach dip and pimento cheese dip and what seemed like an entire crustini loaf.
They also offer a variety of desserts; cakes, pies and ice cream. We had to order our slices of cake to go because we were so full from our lunch.
We definitely feel like we got our money's worth. The portions were large and we certainly didn't leave hungry.

After our wonderful meal we got to enjoy the cool livestock pen with goats, bunnys, chickens, roosters, ducks and possibly more. The kids loved it.

This place is a great place to take the family.

Service took a minute, however, the food was absolutely worth it. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had highly recommend. The goats and chickens were cool too

Absolutely a great place to stop and enjoy a great home cooked meal. My son has autism and enjoys ceiling fans and it was nice to find dinning outside and he enjoyed the fans. The staff is very friendly. The country fried steak was delicious!! We also enjoyed seeing the goats, bunnies and chickens outside. The staff even made the fan point at my son during g check out which he loved.
I will definitely be back for another dinner it’s a perfect spot on my way to Hwy11 coming out of Greenville when I head home to Walhalla

Pulled up and outside was a bunch of baby goats made me feel all fuzzy and warm. Upon walking in was greeted by friendly staff. Took their suggestion and ordered the Reuben Sandwich plate which came with fries I chose my side as macaroni and cheese and a drink. Also got a slice of their Butter Crunch Crumble cake it was moist and delicious. Highly recommend you to stop in if in the area and enjoy amazing food and great staff!

I cant say enough good things about this place! In just a few words this is one incredible, awesome and amazing restaurant! Service is above and beyond a 10 and the food is also way past 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. When you look at photos and read reviews and see the food in person and all of it looks like a spectacular food magazine presentation but that's just how it really is then you have to appreciate this is a case where the food tastes as good as it looks. So then for this kind of service and quality and huge portions then you'd expect maybe to pay some inflated exorbitant price but no this is priced far less that some of the other places people love for lackluster mediocre over priced food like IHOP, Dennys, waffle house or applebees. Those craptastic nationwide chain restaurants charge about the same prices the Country house cafe or even more for food thats easily a solid 2 maybe 3 and here you pay less and get twice as much food, twice the service and 10 times the quality and taste. I will eventually make my way through the whole menu and eat everything that isnt seafood only because I hate seafood but if I did eat seafood I would be eating it from here! I got the country fried steak and 3 sides and I have to say all that and cooked to perfection for just under $12 not counting my drink is not bad at all, I almost felt guilty and would've gladly paid more even twice what they charge but having said that in this day and age when service is at an all time low it's good to come to a place that's got great service, great prices and excellent food. This is easily one of the best restaurants in the entire upstate and holds their own and beats anybody out there because there isn't much to put in comparison that meets all 3 criteria.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast, and we were very glad we did! Grits were creamy, and bacon was perfectly cooked. I'm pretty sure we found our new favorite breakfast spot! I'm looking forward to trying dinner sometime.

Best fresh biscuits! Had the Philly cheese steak omelet and my husband had the Cafe mountain man and it was delicious. Not too busy for 1015am on a Friday. Service was great and had a cute country atmosphere. Will go back.

We stopped in randomly just because we were passing by and we are soooo glad we did! Best blue cheese burger and my husband got their country fried steak and devoured it. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Service was outstanding. There were a few flies that were sort of annoying but that's probably because they have free ranging goats, chickens, and even a turkey! Our 2 year old loved looking at the animals and I almost forgot to mention their banana pudding! Heaven sent, my guys ate every bite!! Really nice down home friendly place!

Pictured is the Blue Blood Burger and the Meat n 2. Pretty good meal, the wait staff were insanely happy and homely. Quite the nice place to stop by for food between TR and AVL.

My husband and I went for a friend's birthday and were pleasantly surprised by the menu choice and the prices. My husband ordered the burger with sweet potatoes and it came with coleslaw. The sweet potatoes had a caramel sauce that you could dip them into my husband said it was just like biting into little piece of wonderful deliciousness. Afterwards he had a piece of red velvet cake which was very moist and very pretty presented to him. It's home cooking the owner's suite very polite and it's got a great atmosphere for children I would recommend this.

There was so much to choose from on the menu. My wife had a calabash chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and I had fish & chips. Both were extremely good! We'll definitely be back again. The waitress sold us on dessert that we had to bring home in a box.

We had the best brunch! Liliana our server was so kind and made our day! Having the animals and swings for the little ones was so perfect just like the biscuits!!!! We will be back! Thanks again!

Stopped in for Breakfast (they are doing outdoor seating now as well as takeout) and it was awesome! The Mountain Man Plate is what I ordered (pic below) and it was fantastic. The service was also great and the outdoor seating area clean and tables spaced out more than enough.
