My wife and I brought our dogs to the park for the very first time. Although the park itself is not so big, we really enjoyed the park and everything that it had to offer. We loved the off leash areas for our dogs to run around and meet other puppies. Our dogs loved getting in the water.

Gorgeous island! The dogs absolutely love chasing squirrels and meeting new friends.

Pros: beautiful, water, off-leash allowed, dog friendly, trail for walking

Cons: small parking lot that gets filled up sometimes, trail is a relatively short loop, water toxic to dogs in the summer months

Super small island, idk if it is really an island. A beautiful park surrounding by the Colorado River like an island in the middle of a lake. The water is so clear so you can see the fish under. Stunning trees in changing color around. Just pure beautiful!

The places is beyond beautiful if you go on the right day. Great spot for hiking and walking dogs. Saw lots of dogs, mostly unleashed. Actually wanted to go fishing. Seems like a great place but nothing was biting for a long long time. Just dumb bluegills. It's a peaceful place to relax. The only bummer is the parking situation. Very limited parking. People were waiting in line to grab a parking spot. Less than 10 cars possibly. Overall great place to visit.

The view was beautiful, being one with nature and fishing is the best feeling in the world. It's a great place to take your love ones and family and the family pet. The parking wasn't so difficult but it quite the popular spot 👌 they might be full. So remember, timing is everything so plan accordingly. So you don't miss the sun set or rise over the beautiful forestry and lake Austin.

Was passing through on a road trip. Amazing park and in awe that it’s all leash free. I was there during the week so hardly anyone there. I imagine on the weekends it’s packed but there is a very small parking lot! I don’t know what locals do because it’s near a highway and you can’t walk to it! But for me, best dog park I have seen!!

One of the most magical outdoor areas in Austin and definitely a plus if you're a dog lover! Red Bud isle is perfectly positioned between the dam and the upper end of Town Lake.

You can even launched a little raft or a kayak here or enjoy a walk along the shoreline. Parking is very easy and convenient.

You will definitely meet a lot of cool locals here that just need a little escape from the City. Lots of shoreline areas because it is a Island but a lot of town like you can't get right next to the shore like you can't here. It's also a little bit more out of the way and less known by tourists.

It's also really nice that there are so many cool restaurants next door for your Tex-Mex needs.... And my favorite is always Hula Hut 😁😁😁

It is a pretty good place for evening walk. Small island, you don’t need to walk too much to explore the entire isle. Parking might be problematic in busy seasons.

Too beautiful, a place untouched.
As swimming is not allowed here, very clear water, people bring their SUP or boats here. Very calming experience.

Large off leash paradise for dogs. A great city escape.
Cons: limited parking. arrived on Sunday 9:30am, wait to parking like 10min.

Small island with small parking lot, small trails, and cozy views of the river on either side.

Beautiful park.
Cons:
• One thing to note if you are planning on bringing your dog - most people arent following the dog on/off leash rules, dogs are running around everywhere. If your dog doesn't like being approached by random dogs or is skiddish, this might not be the best place.
• limited parking. You may have to wait 10 minutes for a spot to open up. There is a little dirt lot across the street, but that holds maybe 6 cars.

Pros:
• if you want to be surrounded by dogs, there are a lot here.
• there are a lot of benches with beautiful scenery.
• there are also multiple easy to use water access areas for paddleboarding and kayaking.

Nice park for 🐕. It's not big as one would probably think, but again, it is a park for 🐕, not for people to go have picnics. A lot of water for your 🐕 to go swimming I guess the only downside would be the parking there is not a lot of spaces. I didn't run into trying to get a parking spot it was not busy, but I can imagine the headache if it was.

We were tucked away in a little spot of the park, but it was very pleasant and beautiful in the shade. It was nice and quiet to enjoy the Jazz playing on our phone. Shade was needed on this very hot day. Glad we always have chairs in our trunk for this last-minute decision to explore during a brief visit from San Antonio.

You would never know that other nearby parts of the water were absolutely packed with boats and boards, and that there was a neverending line to park. It was a Holiday weekend.

Will definitely return and explore more of the park on another visit.

Has been one of my favorite spots for years. We took our dog here regularly until he passed recently. He spent his last morning there. Will always hold a special place for us.

A great place for a quiet walk and great spot to kayak! Not a lot of parking but if you wait around you’ll typically get a spot after some waiting. I’ve always managed to find a parking spot.

Great dog park. Dogs are allowed off leash and there's plenty of bag stations. Beautiful scenery. The only possible downside was the amount of parking spaces. I could definitely see them filling up on a busy day.

Beautiful place. At night you can see fireflies here. However, you should bring a torchlight/phone at night because there are no lights.

Sometimes the lake is algae infested and dogs should not swim in there then

This is the best place for dogs!!!!
Off-leash, water, and tons of furry friends!!
Parking can be tricky, especially during summer, not a lot of parking spots.
