Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital - Las Colinas

I haven't yet had my surgery, but wanted to share that Cynthia in the accounting department is an actual ANGEL. I am so thankful for her patience with me and willingness to explain things to me and talk anytime I had questions. Give Cynthia a raise!!!! :)

Very caring overnight nurse, Chris, took such great care of me following back surgery last week. She and the nurse tech made sure I was as comfortable as possible!

So let me start off by saying "wow" I'm impressed. I had a L2-l4 fusion yesterday. My surgeon is Vishal Patel. He did a multilevel Lamonectomy close to 6 months ago. Vishal is outstanding. You just don't get that kind of communication and treatment from surgeon's now days. The lamonectomy he did for me is still holding great. Unfortunately for me my L2-L3 disc collapsed about a month ago so this is something new I have to deal with. I chose to go to this location for the surgery. I'm so glad I did because the nurses and staff are incredible. Also Tom (physical therapist) was outstanding as well and gets you motivated to start walking right away. Keith and Junior were excellent and great at keeping my pain at bay and checking in on me. Also Adelina was amazing. She has so much integrity and it's so reassuring and nice to know the level of care she gave me. Now days you just don't get that kind of treatment. I want to say Thank you again to Patel and Tom and the incredible nursing staff I had taken care of me..it means so much to me.. I would recommend this surgery center to anyone that needs surgery because the quality you will get will be amazing.

***update. I have to be honest, my last night at the hospital was horrible. They let the pain get out of control and from that point on I've never caught back up. If I could give someone advice it would be to get off all your pain meds before having surgery. This is not 20 years ago where they would actually not watch you flop around in excruciating pain and actually knock you out or give you something that works. Now days they will sit there and watch you shake uncontrollably and tell you "I'm sorry, it will be ok".
I'm sorry thats not acceptable to me. I almost called 911 at a damn hospital cause I didn't know what to do. If you can just try to not be on any pain meds going into it.

Dr Allen did eye today in my husband. Dr Allen is great as is the entire staff at Baylor Scott and White. From front office registration to pre-op to OR to recovery. Each and every person exceeded our expectations. They were very organized and on top of everything they were doing. Great experience.

This establishment was the best experience that I have ever had or even heard of from a hospital. Every single person was so warm welcoming professional and just plain nice. The building was top notch as well. Congratulations to all of you and thank you for the wonderful service.

It was my first time getting surgery and everyone made me very comfortable and safe.

Very caring staff

Parking is a minor nightmare at best. Except, not for the facility CEO, COO, and other executives - they have reserved parking spots (all empty while I was trying to find an open spot in the same ZIP code) in the middle of the handicap area. "What parking nightmare?" - CEO and other executives

Nobody available inside to offer directions. Signage is spotty. Be prepared to arrive 15 minutes earlier just to find parking, hike to the building, and then wander around trying to find the right office.

Cafeteria smelled good.

My wife had a scheduled surgery at this location. We opted to pay 50% of the procedure up front. No problem, I understood the amount and that I would receive a bill later. When I received the bill, it was significantly higher than expected. I called the billing department and requested an itemized statement, 3 months of back-and-forth calls, I finally received the itemized statement. We then agreed to a payment plan, which I began making monthly payments for. After the first month of payments, I received a letter from a debt collector requesting the remaining amount. The billing department is completely incompetent and unprofessional. I refuse to ever go to a Baylor medical facility again due to my poor experience here.

Parking horrible-no good signs to direct you. One nurse offered me food, then left before getting me any, the next nurse said no but then fed me after hours of complaining. Surgeon & Anesthesiologist were top notch, the rest THUMBS DOWN!

WAITED 3.5 HOURS in the hospital even though my surgery was scheduled weeks prior!!! Not sure why but several people who arrived after me got an operating room before me.
