Its vast expanse of lush greenery offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, providing a serene backdrop for a wide range of recreational activities.
One of the park's most striking features is its proximity to Lady Bird Lake, which adds an extra layer of natural beauty to the surroundings. Awesome park. Visited the Botanical Garden. Volunteer at the gate was very friendly and informative, as we had never been there before. The koi fish were beautiful and very friendly. Nice paths to the side to get some extra quiet time. Even though it is next to the highway the sound is not distracting. Would very much recommend going and it is absolutely worth the price of admission.

Always fun things happening here and several trails connect to the park. Volleyball, lawn areas, lake access and many festivals throughout the year.
One favorite of the Trail of Lights. Walk around entire park with amazing light displays, photo ops, s’mores stations, snacks and beverages for sale. Very affordable at less than $10 per person. Pay for parking though ahead for the holiday lights.

This is such a great park. They have multiple shows and events throughout the year. From ACL to the Kite Festival. Also has trails that run around the park. Which are cool to walk the dogs on. Also has great views for downtown. Check it out and enjoy the great weather.

The heart of Austin’s outdoors! Zilker park is the best place to enjoy some time outdoors with amazing city sky lines. Nothing beats a beautiful day at the park.
Between picnics with friends and just a space to take your pets, Zilker park is the place to go. They have lots of great events as well throughout the year - ACL Music Festival, the Kite Festival, and so much more! Definitely a place you want to stop by at if you’re visiting Austin!

It was a beautiful walk. Very peaceful even though there were lots of people enjoying their time there too. It was amazing to watch a man make sculptures in the water with rocks.

Came here last year for the Festival of Lights. Came back this year to volunteer and had a great time. Weather was perfect, people were so nice, volunteered in the Platinum Lounge and met some really great people.

Big city “Zilker park” just beside Austin’s downtown. It’s a gem, almost as good as Vancouver’s Stanley park.
So many things to do with great walking / cycling paths. Huge grass fields for events (lots of puddles after a big rain), Beach Volleyball courts, paddle board & water sport rentals, and so close to Austin’s downtown.
When in Austin for a few days, this is a must see.

A great park for taking my dog on a walk. Recommend the north side with the open space for off-leash walking. Beautiful view and plenty of parking.

What an amazing space very nearby to the downtown. A place full of nature, witch scenic beauty of austin downtow. But just be a little careful as the park allows dogs without leash.
No, you can not drink at the park, but there are several places with a bench for picnic. And do have portable restrooms.

I visited the Zilker Park Holiday Trail of Lights 2023 with my husband and enjoyed a veggie dog at the Hot Dog food truck along with the beautiful trail of lights. Thankful for the one and only opportunity to visit there. Highly recommend. Would suggest that advertising for the event clearly mention the handicap parking lot.

Last summer we visited Austin and went to explore Zilker Metropolitan Park. It is free of admission. Couldn't stay for long because of the extremely hot weather. The small time we were there we walked around the park ground. The view of the Austin City Skyline from the park is breathtaking. Will go back there again, but may be in a colder weather.

Gorgeous park with lots of green space and a great view of downtown! It’s dog friendly and I saw lots of dogs last time I went. Great place for a picnic or a walk. It feels very safe as well. There are some restrooms on site and several picnic areas. I’d recommend bringing a blanket to lay out in grass.

A beautiful park that has both a pay and free side. Lots to explore and beautiful views. Love all the rope swings and clear water. Be careful due to the rocky bottom of the water.
