Lovely evening walk in early January at sunset. This is a fab place to get photos of the city. Very safe for a solo female traveler, easy walk and a total breeze with nothing steep and it was not muddy or slippery. Definitely an activity which travelers / backpackers on a low budget could do for free. Easy to get to from the main downtown and bars of Austin afterwards. Couldn't find any bathrooms on the trail but the auditorium should have some- otherwise the bushes would be a good option when its dark!

Absolutely love this place. Been going since I was a kid and they only had the hill and the splash pad. Now I take my son and it’s more than I could’ve ever expected it would be. Definitely wish we had it when we were kids, but it’s great telling them how much it’s changed. Plus I’ll Always want better for the generations to come and they very much made it better!

Great park with spectacular view of the city's skyline. Perfect for watching the fireworks for July 4th and New Years.
Parking is very very difficult during the peak times and wait times to get out are extremely long. I would recommend taking an Uber here instead of driving yourself during these peak times.

Love the view! I parked along riverside and walked to the path along Lady bird lake. Weather and the trees are perfect this fall. 👌🏽

The Austin city skyline transforms into a captivating display of lights as night falls, highlighting iconic structures like the Frost Bank Tower and the Austonian. The shimmering reflections in the Colorado River and the enchanting bat flight from Congress Avenue Bridge add a unique touch. Whether viewed from a rooftop bar or along Lady Bird Lake, the nighttime ambiance enhances Austin's vibrant energy, making the cityscape a must-see for its dynamic spirit and undeniable beauty.

It’s always busy! Parking can be tricky. Theres a parallel parking spot that only allows for 2 hour parking, and just down the way, there are parking garages (Long center) that you can pay for, along with parking lots that fill rather quickly, especially on the weekends. It’s an Austin staple to be near Riverside and SoCo with an ever increased busy area and not have traffic congestion at all hours, whether during the week or weekend. It’s also one of the very best areas to get photos of the downtown Austin skyline. Gorgeous scenic photos especially with the night life lights downtown! *dog-friendly but must be on a leash at all times!

Awesome spot to walk or run with dogs. Off leash dog park is great and popular. River/Lake access for dogs available. Lots of parking in the morning and daytime hours but gets busy after work hours!

Beautiful park with water views. Many of the people out here are exercising, which is really cool or either just relaxing on the grass. It's very quiet and laid-back out here. They also have a bridge that you can walk across. In addition to relaxing they have canoes, paddle boats and kayaks for people to use on the river.

The views are amazing and breathtaking. Came here with a group of friends and had a highlight of our trip. The river provides some well needed cool air, furthermore there is a wall of 5-10 water fountains. There is a riverside workout area with everything you could really need for a nice scenic core workout. The grass was very nice and if we would’ve had more time we probably would’ve stopped to lay down.

Bottom line: you need to go here before you die, I’ve never had such a great view of a downtown before.

One of the best places to see downtown Austin. A great place to throw the frisbee. Exercise, meet with friends, relax, start an adventure, hit the hike and bike trail and many more activities can be experienced here.
Austin has a traffic problem. Unless you plan to visit at an obscure hour. Save yourself the stress and come here on foot, bike, ride share, bus, magic carpet, scooter. Anything is better than a car. Unless you enjoy spending time circling around looking for one of the very limited parking options. Parking or the limited availability places to park, ( especially on weekends and special events ) is difficult for most of the downtown attractions most of the time. Auditorium Shores is an extreme example of this fact of life in Austin Texas.
You could probably use the exercise anyway, do yourself a favor and visit here without using a car. You will be rewarded with a wonderful experience.

10$ to park for an event seems excessive. But it was a nice place to celebrate new CPAs

This park has it all, volleyball, soccer, swings, climbing toys, slides, hill and tunnels, chess, table tennis, glider swings and more. Short walk to the river, good, clean bathrooms. Only downside, not much parking, first come first serve for about 30 spaces.

Auditorium Shores is so beautiful, what a great place for The Austin Food & Wine Festival.
The Austin Food and Wine Festival is an all weekend long experience with some of the best weather Austin has to offer. Sip, savor, mix and mingle your way through many of the country’s top wine, spirits and culinary exhibitors. Eat & greet with top chefs serving samples of the dishes that put them on the map!

Nice view of Austin skyline. Restrooms are not very close by, depending where you are. A portion of the area is leash free for dogs. Look for signs.
