The Chicago Cafe

Was looking for a place that has vegetarian options and we saw this on Google and decided to call and see what type of hot dogs they use and it is LiteLife hotdogs, which we eat alot at home so that was perfect. We called and asked if the LiteLife was cooked where the meat products were cooked and they stated that the Litelife has its own special pan and doesn't come in contact with any meat products or utensils. So we went and tried it out and boy are we glad we did. GREAT veggie dogs. 5 stars for sure. We got the Chicago style and the New York style and they were both equally delicious. They also have a verity of potato chips and drinks. The atmosphere was great. The employees were outstanding. Very nice and knowledgeable. We ended up eating outside because it was a really nice fall day and they brought our food out to us. Very nice experience. We will definitely be going back.

Note: they do have meat products here and we are vegetarians so we did not eat any of them, so to that aspect we cannot say how those items taste. This review is from a vegetarian standpoint on the food. But the employees are amazing and so is the restaurant itself. So just go give it a try. It's a great place to eat.

This place was very small but had outdoor dining. I got a Chili Cheese Dog and it was delicious. The atmosphere of the outdoor seating was wonderful. There was just something about that street that completed the dining experience.

They have awesome, made to order hot dogs and brauts (out of brats for now).
Quick service and a cozy environment. You lol enjoy the atomosphere of their little humble abode.
They have a great selection to choose from and even offer delivery (grub south) and carry out orders!!

Such a cute, quaint little joint with delicious Chicago style hot dogs! The service was very courteous & the food delish! We'll be back if ever we find ourselves in Florence, Alabama again.💖

Tasted just like the hotdogs back home in Chicago.
Our meal came with chips and a drink and at such a great price . The service was really great, and we’ll definitely be back when we come back to Florence to visit.

Went here for lunch while staying at the hotel down the street. We got the sandwiches and including tip was about $18. Both sandwiches were awesome. Bread was toasted and had a nice crunch to it. Service was quick, friendly and they brought our food to us outside (was a really nice day to be out). Would definitely recommend.

The food was excellent!! Service is great. Very little seating . More of a take out. Have some seating outside. Very reasonably priced. One of the few places that didn't skyrocket after COVID.

The food is amazing but the service is even better. All the staff are super kind and fun people. The food is also always super fresh. Love that it’s open so late!

Whether you're out late or up for lunch, this is the place to dine. It's quick and hassle free. They have a great selection of eats, and the staff is super friendly. It's definitely a must try staple of downtown Florence.

I loved their hot dogs. I wanted to take a picture, but I ate it too fast 😆. Great environment, awesome service, and did I mention the hot dogs were amazing?

Amaaaaazing!!!! I got the April special which I believe is called The Popeye. It had spinach & Artichoke dip, shredded cheddar cheese and topped with crispy fried onions. Very delicious!!! Super cool atmosphere. The person who took our order at the counter was friendly and polite and courteous. Food came out quickly. Highly recommend you check this place out.

Best dogs in town and the pizza is surprisingly delicious as well!

It's no Portillos, but it's as close as you can get this far south. I was extremely pleased to see they actually make the food I miss most from Chicago! I was a little worried when I saw the ' hot peppers' on the menu. Ecstatic when I found out that it was actually Sport peppers like it should be! Love the atmosphere as well. Tiny place but it's still comfy.

I’ve been away from my Chicago home for several months now, and had been craving a Chicago dog… when low and behold, I came upon this gem of a place in Florence! My friends, let me tell you: This. Is. The. Real. Deal.
Sport peppers & poppy seed roll & everything. This hotdog totally made my day.

The Atomic Dog! $5.99 with a choice of drink and chips. Was so delicious! Atmosphere was great and workers were very kind, professional, and relating. Woke up next morning wanted to go back.

First time there, recommended by a friend. We got a chili chesse dog, a sweet heat dog and a dirty dog. They we're delicious!!! The price is actually cheap, we spent less than 20 dollars for 3 dogs and two drinks and they're
open till like 2am. Definitely going again to try more dogs ☺

One of my favorite restaurants in downtown Florence. I have been eating there for a while now. Their food is amazing (I always get the pizza dog). They always get my food to me quickly & with little to no wait. Plus they always have great music playing.

I love the different types of hot dogs you can get. Great spot to eat at late at night.
