Mario's Table

Great place for Italian food. Ordered chicken Parmesan it was excellent. I would recommend reserving a table ahead of time. Cannoli and peppermint gelato were awesome. Service was efficient and friendly.

This is my favorite Italian Restaurant when I visit Chicago! I have been dining here for a couple of decades. The food is delicious, and it’s a great “ family” experience! I met Mario on my last visit…

Absolutely amazing dining experience. A beautifully lit atmosphere with a wonderful staff. An excellent spot for a fancy date. Lastly, Mario's has the best eggplant parmesan. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Great local place with good food. We were dressed in sweats to get carry out and the manager asked if we waiting for a table. Goes to show how kind they are. Pizza and tiramisu were a stand out!!

I’m writing this review before I’ve even left the restaurant. Very rarely does a meal stun you so much that you feel compelled to put into words to the emotions you’re feeling the instant you’ve finished your food.
We chanced upon this unassuming restaurant today and decided to give it a try. Every person who worked here was so friendly and helpful.
It was a good start - and then we got our food.
I ordered a shrimp scampi. I found this to be probably the best pasta I have had in Chicago. It was so light that you could taste the olive oil, the fresh garlic and the slight sprinkling of Parmesan. A perfect reprieve from overly seasoned dishes that frequent my diet.
My partner ordered the veal saltimbocca, which the waiter told us was flavour dripping into our mouths. He wasn’t kidding. The meat was incredibly flavoured, with a perfect hint of rosemary accentuating the gaminess of the meat.
Finally a quick callout to the bread served at the start of the meal - how was even THIS unassuming starter so so tasty?!
If you’re in the area, make sure you give this place a try - the service and food both deserve it!

I would 10/10 recommend Mario’s Table to anyone visiting Chicago! Not only are the food and drinks great but the staff is TOP NOTCH! First of all, the staff truly does care about whether or not you have any food allergies which sadly isn’t something you see too often these days in the restaurants business. Not only that, but they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to celebrate my little cousin’s birthday, give us out-of-towners some amazing chicago recommendations, and make us all feel welcome/special! If you are dining in, I would HIGHLY recommend asking for Luke to be your waiter because he was truly the best we have ever had. The manager Melissa was also THE SWEETEST and a lot of fun. You seriously cannot beat these people or this atmosphere—it’s the cream of the crop!

Mario's did not disappoint! It definitely lived up to the buzz. This place has the cutest, most chill vibes - think fairy lights and comfy booths. Perfect for a date night with my boo - we felt all snuggly and loved-up. But the real MVP? The food. We couldn't stop talking about how good each bite was.

If you’re looking for wonderful atmosphere and a casual dining experience that still makes you feel very special, this spot is for you! My husband and I went for my 30th, and we raved about the service the whole walk home. Ask for Luke, he rocks!

Neighborhood restaurant, great food and friendly service. Great to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal, or call ahead and order some food to pickup. They could not be more attentive, much appreciated.

Very nice local restaurant, friendly folks and they served this neighborhood for more than 20 years. Their signature dishes are decent and pizza is great, thin crust is my fav. Their drinks can be really good. Manager Drew is very experienced bartender as well, just sit down at the bar and he will take good care of you.

Was in Chicago for a couple nights and Mario's was right next to our hotel. We made reservations and were seated promptly at the right time. It was a lively place with a great-looking menu and comfortable decor.

We started with a small Caesar salad, added anchovies and it was delicious, probably the best Caesar salad I've ever had. I had the veal piccotta, which was amazing. The pasta was cooked very nicely, with just enough sauce to cover and not watered down. My wife had cheese ravioli with vodka sauce and it was quite tasty, as well.

The only down side is that I didn't see many staff or customers wearing masks while not seated. Was a tad bit too many people for my comfort without those precautions.

Aside from that, definitely recommended!

Amazing! Food and service was delightful. We were greeted and seated immediately--a cozy table in the corner. Jeff, our server, was prompt, warm, and charming. Piping hot bread served to us straight away. Jeff made excellent suggestions for our first visit. My wife had Chicken Marsala and I had Mario's Chicken Milanese. Both were scrumptious. Perfectly seasoned and balanced, and again served hot to our table. We both ordered the full order and were stuffed. We were well looked after by Jeff. Mario himself came to welcome us and make sure we were enjoying everything. You won't regret coming here. We will be repeat customers.

Been here, many times, and even met Mario myself. Nothing but great things to say! The pasta, the pizza and specials are great. Really would love to know what happened in May 2019 because strollers are no longer allowed since then as signed in front of the restaurant. The great stroller incident of May 2019? Never forget!

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is calm and you don’t feel like you have to shout to hold a conversation.

You will not be disappointed with anything on their menu and that’s a promise.

Such a cute restaurant!! Really has that local, authentic Italian restaurant feel. My friend also knew the owner through a friend so we were greeted so kindly by him and given a little extra something on the house! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Made a last minute reservation on a Friday night in our final night in Chicago. We didn’t know what to expect but we were delighted in our choice and even got to meet Mario himself. The food and service were excellent and we are already planning on coming back on our next trip to Chicago. The rigatoni roma and gnocchi asiago are wonderful and definitely recommended.

Use to come here often in the early 2000s when I lived in the neighborhood. Just moved back and ordered what I always order. Seafood diabolo and the Caesar with calamari mixed in. Still the same high quality service, vibe and btw, the food is still awesome. Prices gone up but that is expected. Keep it going, Mario's Table!

So lucky to have in neighborhood. Food is great . Staff so helpful & friendly. Am particularly fond of dining outside when it is open.
