This is a nice mile hike around an old quarry with paths that extend beyond the lake if you're looking for a little more distance. The trail is gravel and wide. Good for running, walking, or biking.

Very serene during the cold weather. Went in February very little traffic. Lot of different elevations including a very steep one on the last leg of the lake trail. Great for a good hike.

A place where you can enjoy the nature, tranquility and beauty of the surroundings.
It has many benches to rest while walking.
No swimming allows in the water.
Biking is allowed.

One of my favorite places. Mile long track around the lake. I think another half mile if you go behind the hill. Great view. Great place to watch a sunset. Gravel trail. Plenty of parking. They have 2 porto potties. A few benches and a picnic table. Sometimes I go off trail.

Love this preserve, a great place to walk or jog. Took the kids and they had a blast. I saw some people grilling near the parking lot. The preserve is well maintained and had beautiful views. One of the better preserves in the Chicago metro areas.

Wonderful forest preserve just off Golf Road in Bloomingdale. This forest preserve features a wonderful mix of forest, open grassy areas, a big hill, a lake, and a stream running through. Multiple trail loops makes this a great spot for a quick walk or a longer hike. This is also one of only a few DuPage forest preserves to feature an Illinois designated protected nature area. This forest preserve has porta-potties and excellent signage for trails as well as informative signs about the features. This is also an excellent spot for wintertime recreation, as the trails are frequently groomed for cross country skiing. All in all a fantastic gem of DuPage county well worth a visit!!

A beautiful preserve with quite a few trails and entrances. Nice for birdwatching and hiking. I also like to watch the turtles sun themselves near the pond. Is quite clean compared to other natural areas, there does not seem to be as much garbage strewn about which is always a positive.

Beautiful park with paved or graveled trails. We saw blue herons, collected acorns, and some us us ran up and down the hill. And up. And down. Hopefully those small humans will sleep well!!

Bad place, don't come here!
Too late, I think everyone already knows. Park features wide trails to accommodate bikes and hikers, open view, and a hill overlooking the pond.

Tucked away in a corner of suburban Roselle, is a forest preserve that will make you think your in another state.
You enter on a path that takes you on a mile walk thru dense forest until it finally opens up to a bridge that spans over Roselle road.
Once you're on the other side, you have more forest then a winding open path that ends at a giant lake.
There is a clean crushed limestone path for walking or biking around the lake which is .5 to 1 mile.
Definitely worth the trip to walk or bike and escape for 1-2hrs

Great place for a short or longer walk. There's a few small loops connected to the larger loop. Overall it may be around 3 miles of beautiful scenery, lots and lots of tall trees, and the ponds and streams have a ton of beautiful mallards. Overall one of the best parks around.

Totally unexpected preserve. Less than a mile from home +++ Nicely maintained. Large enough that even when the parking lot is full you hardly see other people on the trsils.

Absolutely Beautiful walking/biking trail around the lake. Trail feeds into the North Central Dupage Trail.

A beautiful place for a walk, hike, bike or even cross-country ski around the lake and through the adjacent wetlands on 2.5 miles of trails, which include a stretch of the North Central DuPage Regional Trail.
The eastern portion is a smooth blacktop trail, about the width of a typical city sidewalk. Then the pedestrian bridge carries the regional trail to the Savanna Trail on the west side of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road, which is crushed gravel.

As for history of the Nature Preserve, it's the same as that of what is now Bloomingdale. The original sole inhabitants were the Potawatomi until 1830, when the first white settlers arrived.
In 1833, the Meacham brothers claimed 1,200 acres of woodlands for construction and fence use.

In 1920, the Forest Preserve District acquired 40 acres previously owned by the Meachams from the Heinberg family and created Bloomingdale Grove Forest Preserve. It was later renamed Meacham Grove and additional parcels were acquired in 1977 and the mid-1990s. Then in 2012, the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission gave the area an extra kevel of protection by designating it as the Meacham Grove Nature Preserve.

I’ve been taking my dogs here since they were pups. Good fishing, lots of wildlife and plenty of room to run! Very clean park with plenty of trails to walk.
