Kleinstuck Preserve

First stop of the afternoon was Kleinstuck Preserve in Kalamazoo. True to the reviews, wildlife was in abundance and I was able to get photos of some. This is an interesting loop trail with a lot of little side trails going off of the main loop. Most of the trails are packed dirt although the main trail in is rock. There are some decent hills here but nothing overly strenuous. This is kid friendly, dog on leash friendly, however it is not handicap accessible. Parking appears to be very limited and basically just on the side of the road. Was able to get almost 3 miles in here. Most of the trails are through woods that surround a marsh area. Very fun, peaceful place. 

A hidden gem. Easy trail around a small wetland through a beautiful forest with a few old growth trees. We saw deer casually walking around, ducks on the water, birds, and frogs. A few areas cleared up to water for easy access to view the aquatic life, with benches to relax on. Very well maintained. It is surrounded by a neighborhood whose youth take full advantage by exploring, playing and they built a stick hut to play in. Don't forget to bring bug spray for the mosquitoes and there are no bathrooms, so be prepared.

Very beautiful great place to walk for lovers but there is nothing for anything. Except maybe a sit on the ground romantic picnic with no one around.

Beautiful preserve! So nice to have a preserve this close to the city. The trails have always been very nicely maintained while here, and this place is full of wildlife. It's a famous birding spot especially, and if you come here in spring you'll see tons of them.

fun and surprising trails. Currently there was a tree that feel in the trail blocking the way… I just went around.

One of my favorite places. My older brother would take myself and my daughter's here all the time before he passed. Very very special place

This is an awesome gem inside the center of Kalamazoo that view people know about. Great place to hike explore and get close to nature in a place that has been almost undisturbed for 100 years.

This is a beautiful preserve, with nice trails. Lots of doggies taking their humans for a walk today.
