Bookbug & this is a bookstore

This is my favorite bookstore ever. If they don't have a book they will order it for you and there is an option to place an order online which they will have wrapped and ready to go for you to pick up. The table of contents Cafe/factory coffee there is excellent and there are many great spots to sit and relax by the windows. 10/10 best bookstore in Kalamazoo.

We come here for the coffee and breakfast sandwiches, which are delicious, and stay because we can't stop browsing this wonderful book store! Well, 2 book stores, but I usually have to leave before I get to browse both of them. Lots of neat little gift ideas, and of course a great collection of books.

My husband and I love This Is A Bookstore. It’s our favorite date night … dinner out and a stop at the bookstore, where we always find a good read … oftentimes one of the staff recommendations. In addition to a great book selection, they have great gift ideas: cool socks, t-shirts, etc., and a fabulous coffee shop.

I absolutely adore this bookstore! With a lovely little in-house café, cozy seating, and great book selection and recommendations, pretty much a win all around. Bonus points for organizing great community events. Always a pleasure!

We love Bookbug! I go to story hour occasionally with my two toddlers and it is our go-to place for picking up gifts for birthday parties. They both ask often if we can go there. When I need to have some "me" time, I love going in to this is a book store to check out books and get a drink at the cafe.

My favorite bookstore. They have a great selection of books - and SO much more. The best candles, notepads, socks, games! It is easy to spend hours in here. Should be called Bookstore and Zen.

Bookbug & this is a bookstore are such community gems in Kalamazoo. There hasn't been a book I couldn't source here, including larger book orders for my teaching purposes.

I also frequently visit for gifts and cards. I just brought my niblings here to pick holiday book gifts, and they loved it.

I'm an avid reader and am always on the search for the perfect bookstore that has a homey/welcoming feel where I feel comfortable to just buy a book, sit in the Cafe area and read, and this place hits the spot. They have delicious build-your-own smoothies and a wonderful selection of books. It also helps that there's a full bar as well. A great place to just read or to catch up with friends. 10/10 would visit again.

Definitely one of my favorite cafes in Kalamazoo! The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is so nice! Great place to find books and gifts as well!

My roomate and I come to this bookstore and cafe often because of the environent, friendly staff, and fun books and games to look at. I recomend this bookstore for anyone looking to get work done and enjoy fun books and items to browse at.

If I were of the sort that believes there is a sacred place brimming over with peace, safety, everything you could ever conceive of wanting where you go to after leaving this mortal life...my personal heaven (haven?) would be this store.
No, I am not being outlandishly excessive. I stand by my statement above. My husband and I found this wonder quite by accident today...we could not find parking at *ahem* the coffeehouse on the corner and intended to dock the car in a corner to grab a cuppa before returning home. We have lived in Kalamazoo for thirteen months now, but did not have our own car until four days ago...between being housebound for eight months due to the pandemic and only going to the drug store/pharmacy within walking distance when necessary, I have seen only a fraction of the city.
As an former professional artist/animator/television director, an avid reader/coffee addict and published author, this establishment feels like the playground of my dreams. Astonishing variety of books, tools for writers, professional art supplies...we only had time to grab a (superior) cappuccino to go, run quickly through the store and get back home today, but I see many, many happy ramblings here in my future.
To wrap it up simply, today I found a place that feels like home...you can't put a price on that. If you want to find me, it won't be in the digital wasteland; no mindless scrolling for me. I'll be here, running my fingers over printed pages. Nothing compares to that.
Please stop in and give your business to this local slice of heaven, do so often. Your life will be so much the better for it.

This place is still a deep love. The staff is always friendly and helpful...and they LOVE books. My last two visits were blissful. I special ordered an uncommon book; they had it waiting for store pickup in just three days. I also grabbed Infinite Jest to complete my David Foster Wallace collection.

I could spend all day here. Can't wait to take my son to the children's bookstore. I do wish they had more used books available, though. Purchasing a book can be a pretty big investment. I also love that they have coffee and novelty gifts.

There's plenty of books at both stores and the staff are really helpful and nice! They helped me locate some books I wanted and let me know that others were out of stock before I tried hunting them down.

Local bookstore that has EVERYTHING YOU NEED for yourself and good presents. Shop local and honestly, they have more than just books (endless puzzles, board games, vinyls, etc.)

This is a bookstore lol. It is super cozy with some seating and a little coffee/tea bar. Very tasty dirty chai. Great selection of unique items and interesting books.

This place was magical. There were so many gift ideas and great reads. I came in for coffee. Ended up with breakfast and books. I really could’ve spent the whole day here if I wasn’t traveling for work. Great book selection and customer service.

I cannot say enough about how kind the employees were, especially helping my dad find all the books he was looking for! He so enjoyed the outing and everyone was so kind and patient.

Great vibes, I love looking through the books while waiting on my drink or food from the Cafe. It's very eclectic and the book selection is just what I want to see in a local bookstore.

Absolutely beautiful in here it's a favorite location for sure. Every book you could think of controversial and otherwise you'll find it here with love.
